My Tanker is my most-played and oldest character. He's got a build I'm pretty happy with right now but what with the incarnate system making him more of a main then he's ever been, I want to kick him up a notch.

The main idea was adding in the Gladiator proc, which lets me do a whole lot more with the build than I could before. I think it looks pretty solid but I'd love to get some other opinions and critique.

Also, Flight's a concept thing, but I won't ever use Hover. It's only there for the LotG +rchg. So yeah, what do you guys think?

  2. Is it possible that maybe summoning the Ouro portal counts as summoning a pet and entering combat?

Other than that, I've got no idea. Might just be a bug.

  4. I haven't even gotten the Rare yet on anyone... I've been using the WST to get the Common/Uncommon on characters I ignored in the incarnate system previously. I still dunno if I'll go for the Very Rare just yet, 'cause I'm waiting to find a character that I really, really click with first. So... my Plant/Kin will probably be my first contender once he gets to 50. After that, we'll see how I feel about the rest of my characters.

I do think I should go ahead and grab my characters the Rare though... 'cause it's not that much more work after the Uncommon and the level shift seems pretty significant.
  5. I'll third the suggestion for Plant/Kin. It's very, very solid combo that's got good control and solid damage with some of my favorite powers in the game.
  6. I'm still burnt out from the 2XP grindfest... Only ran one LRSF yesterday. But I might just sit down and grind out some STFs/LRSFs today so I can join the 50 (+1) party.
  7. Man, I've got so many STFs/LRSFs to run.

    Controller.

I ran a team of all Controllers at one point this weekend completely on accident.

I've never steamrolled so quickly or successfully... ever.

Edit: Oh, I see you were kidding.

    ...

    I still love my Controllers.
  9. Plant/Kin Controller from 20-40
    Earth/Elec Dom from 20-30
    Warshade from 1-20
    Widow from 1-20
    Rad/Fire Blaster from 1-20
    Mace/EA Brute from 1-20
    DP/Pain Corr from 1-20
    KM/Regen Scrapper from 1-20

My goals were to get all the lowbies I've been wanting to play up to 20 and then after that just level whatever I felt like. I think I did pretty well. Would've finished and gotten my Plant/Kin to 50 but I kinda want to spend some time not in 2XP to level him.
  10. Invuln/Ice Tanker - Still have only seen two others on Virtue in the last couple years. And it's fun, too. Lots of people are like lolicemelee (at least to me... since I really like the set) and then I meatshield them to death and it doesn't matter anymore.

AR/Mental Blaster - Still never seen another one of these, which is surprising 'cause I've seen just about everything paired with /Mental on Blasters.

Those are the two oddest (I guess) that I play regularly.

    I've also got...
WM/EA Brute for maximum pretty and strong
Thugs/Thermal MM for no reason in particular
Rad/Fire Blaster which I'm more surprised than anything doesn't get played more. I've seen it around more than the others but I mean... talk about a fun character...
  11. I'm leveling a Plant/Kin right now and it is THE most fun character I have ever played. I'm floored at how much fun I'm having, and Kinetics makes all that fun even crazier. Carrion Creepers is seriously one of the coolest powers I've ever used. I loooooove the character. So... if you haven't decided yet, my vote is Plant/Kin.
  12. Just add the [[Categoryeletion Request]] tab to it and it should be flagged for deletion. A mod/sysop will clear it after you do that sometime.

Looks like a jetpack to me.

I could have sworn 2XP was through Monday the 31st but I guess not?
  14. I would also very, very much support Peacebringer fixes and APP/PPP/Pool Customization, even if that customization for things like the Speed pool is just Minimal FX (because glaring orange fire glow thing of Hasten + SS is kinda ugly on most of my characters).
  15. If they ever come up with a PPD AT, they should introduce the Blue Shield Task Force. Except instead of sending a team of you on it, he sends a team of you to watch him solo it himself.
  16. EA ported to Scrappers and Tankers. I don't care if it's "underwhelming". I want.

But really, any more proliferation. Illusion Control Doms, Dark Blasters, etc.

What I did on my most recent toon to run her (using the new arc) was to run the arc and then just keep taking and abandoning (the abandon not the auto-complete) her one-off missions until she gave me the Siege one.

On a side note with the new arc - The new arc is quite a bit easier than the old version (imo at least), what with all the "cameo" appearances of the Phalanx NPCs running along with you. And you don't have to fight Shadowhunter anymore. That guy's a real pain for lower damage ATs.
Oh, I didn't know you could do that. Cool.
  18. You actually have an advantage - they took Siege out of the new arc, which requires anyone trying to get the Dimensional Warder badge to now go through Ouro to finish the first three missions of the OLD arc.
  19. CoH isn't my first MMO, but it's by far my favorite. I'm grateful that no matter what I'm doing in this game, I can always be sure I'm having fun. It's not like other games where you have to suffer through a lot of work just to get to where the game really begins. No, in this game, you have fun in the character creator before you even start playing. I think that, more than anything, is what keeps me here. Even the rare occasion that I get a little burnt out, I always come back because there's always something fun to experience.

I enjoy KB quite a bit (see my Storm/Energy Defender), but as an avid AR Blaster, I dislike the KB inherent in the set. Having to hover above a mob just to keep it from hurting the other powers in the same set is an unnecessary obstacle. In Storm Summing, the entire set works around moving foes around. Lightning Storm alone can cause a lot of KB, and Hurricane causes MORE KB which lets you shift enemies around and cluster them together so that you can make the most out of Storm's damage and debuffs. All of that is within the set itself. The KB is designed to make the set as a whole work better (in the right hands, of course).

In order to make AR's KB not force enemies out of your cone radius, you've got to take an additional power that doesn't come in the set. That's where, in my opinion, AR gets the short end of the stick. I agree Neogumbercules that AR could definitely use being looked at. It's fun, and my AR/Mental is one of my favorite characters, but the set as a whole is just a little off.

I actually think the Flamethrower idea is pretty good after glancing at it quickly. It was always weird to me that somehow, Flamethrower was the sloooooowest fire in the woooooooorld.
  22. I think I'm one of the few people that never really made a Praetorian until recently, but I just took a Stone/Elec Brute through the Resistance Crusader arcs solo and got all the way through Praetoria in probably a day tops. I was pretty shocked at how fast it went.

So yeah, I imagine a full team could speed things up a lot.
  23. Huh. What a great way to introduce RPers that haven't met before.
    [Edit] Well, I caved in.

No, if you respec out of all Crab powers on all builds, then you'll lose the pack. But if you even have ONE Crab power on ANY build, it stays.
