This site loads so slowly it that it makes me feel as if I'm on dialup again.

Quote:Oh I don't know, it's not like they're changing anything that already existed. They're adding something new. So ostensibly, you wouldn't even have to touch if it you didn't like it. They are just pool powers, after all. That's a really, really horrible idea, and it's been covered completely already.
You can't respec origin. Ergo, making anything new origin specific, while also stupid from a numbers/mechanics point of view is also going to hack off a bunch of people for any number of reasons.
Origin is fine the way it is. -

Quote:That's what temp powers are for!I agree. I have Natural characters who could easily learn some basic magic and I've got Magic characters who could walk into a shop and buy a pistol or sword like anyone else. Let me decide my own concept.
Or you could make a magic origin dual pistols blaster. -

Obviously, Lord Recluse was an avid watcher of Stargate SG-1. After hearing Anubis' over-the-top dialog, and Jack O'Neill's reaction to it ("Come on, who talks like that???"), he made a conscious decision to never be that kind of villain.

Stuff like this doesn't really bother me either way. But I still think it would be a way cool idea to have origin specific pool powers. That's a nice way of tailoring your character's powers to fit his or her overall theme, and helps make the five origins relevant again.

Darn, now I'm prolly gonna have to make some decisions about whether or not to slot a Purple, PvP or ATO set from now on. Especially on my Warshade. I was only recently able to collect six catalysts for the Kheldian set I just slotted in one of her attacks!

I just read the first page of this thread 'cause it suddenly occurred to me what this might be.
Origin based power pools! Sorcery, of course, is for magic based heroes and villains. It just got leaked by mistake and there might be four others they're working on. Maybe there will be another set of ATOs that will be slottable in there.
I like this idea so much that if this isn't what they're working then I will be... mildly disappointed, lol. -
Quote:Not that this was ever really a problem for me, but nowadays I don't even bother with DO's and SO's and I use IO's almost exclusively.Unless it's highly important to the story of the character in some way, Mutant is the choice. For only one reason:
It pretty blatantly says what each enhancement is when I'm getting them. I don't have to figure it out by color or right click for description or anything like that. They're the SOs of TOs simplicity.
MAGIC, on the other than... Band of this, Light of that... o.0
I don't make many tech, natural or science characters either. Usually mutant, with a nod to magic. -
I use magic and technology more than any other origin. Natural comes in a far third. The only reason I have a single level 50 character with a science origin is because she's a Warshade. I have absolutely no character with a mutant origin.

No way. I've been known to kill threads dead just by posting in them. Why I'll bet even the longest and most popular threads on this forum have had years shed from their lives just by me pressing the submit button to them but once!

I'm sorry as I was totally out and away from my computer most of yesterday, so I couldn't get to this until today.
Besides Coulromancy (er, "Clown Summoning", grrr!), we also got the sonic damage based "Beat Mastery". While I haven't had a chance to do very much with it, I was really amazed by its AOE attack. I had no idea that much drum and bass could do that much damage unenhanced! I hope that's not a bug.
Anyone else been able to play with it more? -
Oh yes, and "Send in the clowns" puts Gangwar and Hell on Earth to shame. I hope that's not a bug.
-
This set should have been called Coulromancy. Seriously!
-
I heard they're working on a "Game of Thrones" MMO...
-
I'll bet I could do this with my Warshade once I finish decking her out in Purple and PvP sets.
-
I'm on board for restoring them to their original 50% values.
