Erm, you can do the 9 clicks without letting go of it btw.
-
LeighB, it's the Rustic Flattop Desk with 9 (or 10) rotations, desk draws all need to point east (or south) after the rotations and you can then stack above them.
-
Gday Bruce, (Sorry couldn't resist.)
Which side and server are you on?
Am sure someone could show you how to do floating/stacked objects.
(Roll on issue 13 and hopefully some useful SG base changes.)
I have hero characters on union and villains on defiant,
so if I can be of any help and your SG base is in either of those let me know.
@Coolio -
Just a reminder that your NC master login, NC support login and Game logins can all have different details.
-
Please also forward this to the costume request thread...

Path_Finder, It seems you have the picture in a private folder as going here directly:
http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/1549/pathrr5.jpg
It comes up with this browser error code: '403 - Forbidden'
Once the image folder is public it should show up, you can tell by your avatar box with the X in it that the link has been accepted as an avatar image, but the image cannot be loaded for some reason. (The above error.) -
Leipzig (EU) and PAX (US) have an in-game costume code for the PPD Hardsuit.
The US Comic Con also had an in-game costume code:
[ QUOTE ]
This code will allow the characters on your account to turn into the fearsome Freakshow Tank!
The costume is purely cosmetic and doesn't bestow any powers or allow you to sneak by the Freakshow.
[/ QUOTE ]
Quoted from the July 29, 2008 post here: http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/archive.html -
[ QUOTE ]
We'll have another announcement coming soon about the next exclusive costume that will be given away to our Community.
[/ QUOTE ]
Either these will be available via:
Veterans rewards. (Which is doubtful as offline rewards are incoming.)
Ingame badge hunting. (Also doubtful as NC would probably prefer $£ for them.)
Purchasable means a la the Wedding Pack (Most likely as several players really want some of the current (online) veterans rewards earlier, even if they have to pay for the privilege of getting them in a pack.)
Offline rewards could include a free pack code, etc.
---
However if these are limited to games shows as true 'Exclusives'.
Then I can see NC facing a major riot from both sides of the game EU and US. -
GG, my 'Summon Runner' would be a fix for contacting Marcus et al, as no matter which (present day earth) zone you were in you'd get a roman herald (messenger) appear.
Maybe not when you were in Orobouros though.
Calling contacts outside the zone should be blocked with a mission style 'No signal' message when not in a present day earth based zone, such as: Cimerora, Orobouros, Preatorian Earth, Shadow Shards and Pocket D. -
Just out of curiosity wouldn't the Orobouros menders notice players using the portal power from Cimerora anyway, along with a pre-council villain group who also appear to have gone back in time...
(Phew, visible spoiler avoided...)
Mind you I'm still trying to figure out how the 'Pocket D' teleport and 'Call' contacts on their (mobile/cell)phones still work from there and how the Cimerora mission givers seem to have cellphones, surely the 'Call' roman mission givers should be replaced with 'Summon Runner' which summons a roman herald who fades in, runs up to you, pauses, then runs off and fades out.
Adding to this why doesn't the 'Call' option do '/em cellphone'?
As using the hero police radio does '/em listenpoliceband' and the villain newspaper does '/em newspaper'.

Final note: Please drop the biblical posts.... -
An SoA is a Soldier of Arachnos
Which is also known as a Villain Epic ArcheType
As opposed to the Kheldians
PeaceBringers and WarShades
Which make up the Hero Epic ArcheTypes
---
Note:
Additional items for VEAT's should be available in the next issue or two, such as the eagerly anticipated 'Butt Cape' and standard selections for secondary and additional costume slots which should include all the claw options.
The primary (uniform) costume slot will (afaik) be stuck with the default widow claws for the duration. -
BACK ON TOPIC!
The Midnighters pillar only links to the Cimerora pillar
Hence:
1. No backstory arc's etc available through it.
2. It in an unregistered pillar with a single fixed destination.
[u]Unregistered[u] pillar = Unknown to Orobourus = No oro portal (perma)temp power.
Several of the Faultline history arc's unlock the portal, My main hero had it at level 20, a major PITA that he couldn't use it until he was level 25.
IMHO: The portal access should be limited to level 25, unless your character has already unlocked the portal temp power and is level 20.
Basically ATM you cannot use the portal power to access Orobouros yourself unless you are level 25, once you reach level 25 if you have not obtained the portal (perma)temp just ask another player to open a portal for you, which IIRC counts as time travel and grant's you the (perma)temp power. -
IIRC both the backpack and cape are currently both back slot items (like wings).
-
Vanguard EAT VEAT style:
From Recruit at level 24 to:
Soldier <- Recruit -> Sorcerer -
1. Having a defunct (Dead) soundcard the missions to click glowies are a major pain (ITA) I would like to see next to or under the x glowies to click message a coloured bar going from black through red, yellow and green, depending on your proximity to a non clicked glowie, so I would have a graphical hot/cold representation of the audio proximity effect.
2.Hero (and Villain) mobs defeating their own side or not assisting you...
Noted in Villain Breakout Tutorial mission, 'Longbow Warden has defeated Prison Warden' type messages.
Also a similar effect when an enemy mob is outnumbered by another mob, why don't they just run off and leave if you don't attack them, they just all turn on you.
The Prisoner mobs in Brickstown surrounding a police officer once you go to help, the policeman walks away and starts using his notebook whilst you deal with the prisoners solo, and you get no thanks from him either.
3 Limited access to safeguard/mayhem missions, especially for badgers, if you miss the chance to grab the exploration badge then once you out level that specific mission set you cannot go back and get the badge. There should be a high level untimed patrol mission that takes you from bank zone to bank zone (mission area) looking out for villains (or heroes) and letting you do all the side missions, villains would be out to damage as much as possible along with additional gains if they rob every bank, untimed would allow the badgers time to collect any missing badges.
---
Two others just to make a point:
4. Mission's that say go defeat x in zone y, subzone z for example, such as 'The Maw' in 'Striga' if you haven't been all over the map you probably won't have the subzone marker listed on your minimap. Missions specifying a subzone should force it's marker onto the minimap.
5. Level 100 GM's and Hamidon getting ignored, (I wonder why...) I will post a suggestion about a possible fix for them in the suggestions forum later. -
In reply:
Power Lag: Known issue, especially the delayed recharge when zoning.
Zone Lag: Especially noticeable during Raids, seems to have increased recently.
Chat Lag: Possibly due to changes to allow for carrying chat messages over when zoning affecting non zoning players.
Also the Water and Bloom effects are known to cause lag even on high spec machines.
Kitty_Hellfire:
In your Graphics settings click advanced, then check the particle effects, even on low settings it can be very high.
Also when running the game twice, turning off send buff numbers on both, will reduce your network lag. -
There is a way to remove some of the lag and if you have an older machine these can make a major difference.
[u]Reducing Lag:[u]
[u]Normal Gameplay:[u] (These will reduce network lag.)
Right Click your displayed buff's (Under your experience bar.) and select 'Stop sending buff numbers'.
Masterminds with lag should also do the same to their pet buff's.
You can still get Buff value information via the right click 'Info' option.
[u]Rikti Raid, TF or High Difficulty Mission:[u] (This will reduce graphics lag.)
Go into the 'Graphics' 'Options' and reduce the 'Max particle effects' setting from 50000 to a lower value,
the minimum value is 100.
By doing this new particle effects gain priority so in the case of multiple players and powers getting used at the same time all of the effects will take less time to display and will free up older graphics cards to allow them to display movement without the lag usually caused by excessive particle effects.
I found by doing this I don't notice any changes under normal conditions and only see reduced particles where I would usually get swamped with effects and major gfx lag.
---
Hopefully this information will help some of the players who suffer with lag, either generally or during Raids,
TF's or High Difficulty Missions.
(Let me know by 'Private Message' if you try these and find it helps.) -
Confirmed as:
Raid Rikti are Traditionalists.
Friendly Rikti are Restructurists.
(Info from Vanguard and Midnighters rescue Rikti missions.) -
On the subject of Vanguard troops, their first costume slot could be like the VEAT's a uniform slot with the second costume slot after being issued sooner also like the VEAT's.
But at least with Vanguard you know you can craft additional uniform parts for your additional costume slots.
Also the first mission sequence would have to be going from a recruit to a full member of Vanguard. (Aka the level 35 'Member of Vanguard' missions.)
But being suitable for beginners (Level 1's and 2's.) and yes they would get the chance to gain Vanguard Merits from Rikti at this early stage due to the fact they are Vanguard (Personnel.) EAT's!
Heroes have the advantage of a Vanguard DPO in Atlas Park, but this could be overcome by having an innate 'Vanguard Base Teleport' power, whilst limiting them to having no exit to the RWZ compound until level 35.
Door/Portal exit's to Atlas, Galaxy and Mercy would be available via one of the Vanguard's base's 'Off limits to non personnel' doors.
---
As for Vanguard sorcerers:
Heroes have blue/purple lightning.
Villains have red/white lightning.
Therefore green lightning would suit neutrals.
(Green lightning is probably similar to the 'Repair' blast from either a Robotics MM or one of their Protector Bots.) -
Totally Original Independent Law Enforcement and Tactics.
Their costumes and humor are going down the pan.
They also prefer sewer missions. -
Good point, also Vanguard would make a useful:
1. Non Kheldian HEAT.
2. Non Arachnos VEAT.
3. Dual faction EAT.
Yes the Vanguard primarily fight the Rikti, however I see nothing wrong with them letting us have the ability to train up our levels on other targets.
'Vanguard level X' instead of 'Security' or 'Threat' level springs to mind. -
Not forgetting to crank the maximum particle effects up in the CoX graphics options.
-
Yes we know!
However we were suggesting changing the base weapon models not the effects, so orange flame would be orange flame, but the source weapon could be a type of talsorian, greater, or even the standard fire sword.
