Bah, made a thread for this in the Freedom Bug forum just now.
Anyway, the new Female Vampire Face is not scalable. Only the top "head" option is scaling. The rest aren't.
Also, the Female Vampire face does not have the same "eye tinting" feature that the male has. I hope that's a bug and not WAI. -
Bug: Female Vampire Face, not is not scalable. Only the "Head" option (width, height, depth) is scalable. None of the other parts can be scaled.

From what I remember, if the code is for a SPECIFIC game, then the serial is only tied to THAT game. Like mentioned, the old NCsoft Time Cards, that have multiple games listed on the box is usable for any current NCsoft game.
At Best Buy they have Aion timecards and CoH gamecards. I wouldn't be able to use the Aion card to fund my CoH game because the serial itself is specific to Aion even though both products are from NCsoft. -
Nice job!
Also were these screenies taken before the SG emblem bug? -

The forum is slowly converting so don't expect everything all at once. Zwil has noted that there will be additions to the forum over the next month.

Quote:Oh, don't get me wrong. I play the game because I love the game. But when you're dealing with new people coming in and being used to the other MMO's that cater to them, not being catered to is something that won't make them stay or want to pump more money into the game. You know, the overwhelming focus on "rewards" is really starting to annoy me.
Just play the game... have fun defeating enemies and/or helping your allies.
snipped for brevity
Most new people are used to being catered to by other MMO's. Most other MMO's focus on the reward over the content. When people of that mindset come in and see that, to Paragon, content is coveted over the reward they might not be so inclined to put money into the game.
Can I deal with the 7 day timer? Yep. But that's because I've got a subscription paid for till September of 2012. I'm here for the long haul. Will someone that's on a fixed income/limited budget that can afford $5 a month but can't afford $14/month subscription deal with it? -
Quote:You have to be in the mindset of someone that enjoys doing the same exact thing over and over. For me, currently, I have 48 level 50's.Because doing the exact same thing over and over is boring, not to mention pointless when you can run arc 2 nearly as fast if you feel like it?
Do I want to run the Incarnate missions over and over, deal with Trapdoor, solo, over and over on alts that might not be built for soloing, just to unlock my Alpha slot? Nope. But earning Astral Merits over and over on my main alt can be used to buy Alpha unlocked and send it to an alt to quickly, and painlessly, bypass the Incarnate Unlocked arc.
I'm not a huge fan of repeating the same stuff over and over, but with the easiest method for getting what you want is doing just that, then I'm going to do it. -
Sadly, one month's notice is not enough time for most people to get off of work, especially with a national holiday within a week of the event. Also with Thanksgiving being that close to the event, you're also dealing with ungodly travel preparation since it's one of the two most traveled holiday months.

Quote:If they can find any similarity to a character name, they can generic it for anything. However even if you followed trademark/copyright laws, depending on if they want to take the chance, they still can generic you because it might be more hassle for them dealing with a legal team rather than a quick name genericing.Misread much? I have not been Generic'd, which is why i ain't saying the name. And the name is one syllable, has about 12 alternate spellings I can think of. If you take a character like "Mork", from Mork and Mindy. And you name a character "Mark" are you Generic'd because you are to close too "Mork"???
According to US trademark/copyright laws, you can legally skirt the law by changing at least 30% of the name/likeness. Since the difference between "Mork" and "Mark" is only 1 letter, which is valued as a 25% change, there would be grounds for a genericing whether or not they can prove that you intended to violate a trademark/copyright.
In the end, they can generic anything for any reason as it states so in the EULA. It's only depending on who gets the complaint and if they want to spend the time researching if it violates any trademark. But, if they get a complaint, it's likely that they will generic seeing as it was something noticable enough for a player to report. -
I want to chime in because the point is being missed: the SSA's are paid for content. Yes, I understand they most likely don't want people to get 7 Hero/Villain Merits per day for running shorter content, but each arc is $5. When it's all said and done, that's $35 for non-VIP's to play content that doesn't guarantee them a top-level reward if they play more than 2 SSA's per week.
When Freedom was in closed beta, Enhancement Boosters were listed in the market and there was a chance to fail the boost after you boosted an IO once. Players were up in arms because you were paying real money for something you had a chance to fail at. You were gambling on the chance of +5'ing something.
Now the SSA's were never in beta so no one was able to test them. No one was able to see that something else that was purchasable from the store cut you off from a top-level reward after playing it twice. Not only playing the same arc twice, but playing 2 of any SSA's within the same WEEK.
I said I hate to complain because I really do. But no one else is catching on that the game, being free to play, is not doing anything to hold F2P or premiums to WANT to buy the SSA's every month. What's the point? The game relies on their $5 purchases, but if they only need to buy SSA1 what's the point in buying SSA2-7 if they aren't getting the rewards for it. Doing SSA1 two times per week is the same as doing SSA2-7 since they run off the same reward table.
There is no incentive for them to purchase the SSA's. There is no incentive for them to pay another $5 a month for something they can get from running a 10 minute SSA1 arc twice a week.
CoH is relying on F2P players just as much as subscribers at this point. And when you're told "No, you get no (or little) reward for repeatedly playing this separately purchased content because YOU don't need more than 2 top-level rewards per week" you're not really asking them to invest their money month after month on a 3 part story arc when they have 7 years of content for free. -
Quote:Understood, but by the time all 7 are available, it would be pointless to do them all in a row since the good rewards are all tied to the same 7 day timer. The first time you do each SSA doesn't count against the timer. I had a couple chars I logged in today who hadn't done the first story yet. Ran them thru 1st, then 2nd, then 2nd again; ended up with 3 Hero Merits.
However, when I did it today, I did two SSA 2's and got 2 Astrals. When I went back and did SSA pt. 1, I was not allowed to choose an Astral as the timer said there was 7 days remaining. -
I really, really hate to complain (once again) but having the SSA's all tied to the same Reward timer is NOT a good idea. What's the point of getting stuck with little to no rewards, for paid content, if you completed a previous SSA within 7 days of a new one?
To me, the shared timer is no different than if every single task force shared the same timer.
But, I have to note again, this is paid for content via the Paragon Market. It's like if enhancement boosters were purchasable and had the chance to fail the boost. (And yes, I know that's how it was in beta.) -
Howdy,
I figure I've been having a blast on my human-form WS for a while, why not give a human-form PB a try? My issue: I've never really liked PB's because I've always gotten stuck with having a tri-form I didn't like.
I've got a PB at 41 currently that I'm planning on getting to 50, then Incarnate ASAP. I need a build that is mostly for soloing but needs to be capable of teaming with minimal KB issues.
I'd like to get Quantum Acceleration fit in there; can skip Group Flight.
My current budget for the alt, since I'm not too sure if I'll enjoy it, is about 2 billion.
In a nutshell, I need something that's powerful and resilient in human-form.
Any help would be appreciated. -
So does that mean we have to request make-me-a-build threads in the AT's forum, or this one?

Quote:Understood, but PayPal also blocks any charges they deem at risk. NCsoft EU won't take my money through PayPal for a CoH subscription because PayPal itself won't allow the charges to go through.Well actually my bank never been refuse any payment to any site when I goes online shopping around (except when the card is out of money).
Like I said I didn't give up the hope to buy Points so I asked for help from many of my friend from Spain to the US, they got the same error using they own Paypal account.
Please note that my Paypal got more than $5 itself, so it's impossible to blame my bank.
Also to note: with PayPal, anyone can charge a payment get the goods and file a fake charge to get your money back. If at any time, NCsoft subscribers reported their charge to NCsoft as a fraudulent charge in order to get their money back, PayPal could block NCsoft altogether. After I contacted PayPal about the EU subscription, I was told that the company was considered an "at risk" company under suspicion of fraud. -
I've got all checkboxes checked on the map and it's still not showing. The red active marker on my map says that the mission is located at the door behind the trainer. The only way I've gotten to the exact location of the mission is by using Mission Teleporter. Which using that showed the mission on the other side of the map, nowhere near any kind of mission marker.

Quote:Wow. Rude much? What do you expect, its villain side. It toke them 14 issues before the devs actually decided to fix the bug in the Ice Mistral SF. If you don't know about it either, just shows how much you play villain side.
Basically villain side is treated worse then red headed step children, only reason I've stayed this long is blind hope Matt Miller will pull a donut out of his mouth and see that CoV needs more love then what they already have. -
6 Years since we've had that bugged Mercy Mission that does not show you the correct location on the map.
Incase any red names see this and finally look into it, the mission is "Steal research from Legacy Chain" given by Seer Marino.
For just about 6 years, the mission (and map) tells you that the mission is inside the building behind the trainer in Mercy. But it's not in there. Never was.
No matter how many times, over the years, that we have petitioned it ingame, the mission never gets fixed.
I hate to complain about anything as CoH is one of the best parts of my day, but having to run around and click on doors all over Mercy in the chance that you find the correct location... well, it's just insane that this bug has been around since CoV's launch.
Sure, I could just Auto-Complete the mission, but that doesn't fix anything. -
People tend to forget that most of these issues are NOT an issue of NCsoft, rather the bank they are trying to fund an overseas company with.
The most issues/complaints are from people outside of the US who are trying to purchase a recurring subscription. Most banks do not allow a monthly subscription to a product that does not have a localized billing process.
I ran into this issue when I tried to subscribe to the EU CoH. I kept getting an error message just like the one you are getting. However, the message was a default one from the NCsoft store because my bank/credit company was refusing the international purchase. When I contacted my bank, they said that they would not allow any subscription puchases, to England, because that was a country that they previously dealt with due to credit card fraud. That it was much easier to deny all purchases to that country rather than have to backtrack and fight any fraud issues.
Sadly, this is the case with most banks across the world. People in South America, Asia, Europe, etc get the same error and immediately jump down NCsoft's throat but in reality their own banks are refusing the sale. -
Solution: Make your SG chat OOC and make your Coalition chat RP.
You have access to both chat channels in a SG. Make use of them. -
Quote:Yep, there is a mission that allows you to exemp back down to level 1 that's filled with baddies for the Isolator. I believe it's the "Ouroboros Initiation" mission from The Pilgrim. The mission should be availble directly from him if you haven't done it already. But it is available via Flashback as a level 50 mission.Hello and thanks for all your responses
I will clarify my questions a little just in case
Problem 1,
The tutorial map has changed completely and it seems ( I may be doing something horribly wrong ) that it is no longer possible to get 'Isolator' there now.
My question is; is it confirmed that Ouroboros takes you back to the 'Original' tutorial zone ? Has anyone tried it since the tutorial zone was changed ?
Quote:Problem 2
Regardless of level it seems impossible to get the 'Original' contacts anymore. ( Azuria, Antonio Nash, Rick Davies, Derek Amberson et al ) They have been replaced it seems ( again please correct me if I am wrong ) by new contacts.
My question is :
How do I now get the Story ark contacts ?
Quote:Thank you for the info Justice Blues and Gavin, but are you saying that, if I get to level 10 go to Kings Row and do 'Safeguard' missions that whoever I need to see there will give me the 'Orignial' contacts ( Paula Dempsey, Paco Sanchez , Tony Kord etc ) By getting to level 10 ( which is what the KR safeguard missions start at it seems ) does that not make me too high to do 'Negotiator" ?
Quote:Problem 3
I have done a bit of research on the afore mentioned wiki sites, but like most guides they are out of date. I am not sure when the new Tutorial / Contacts thing happned but I can't find any info on them. So my confusion is what information is now relevant and what is not.
My question is :
The sites mentioned have a great list of badges, even you get this badge by doing xxx. But I can't seem to find any detailed ( current ) information on them. e.i Go here speak to X, get mission X, complete mission x, get badge x.
Good luck! -
And...? You do realize that exemping down earns you near the same amount of XP that you normally would get as a level 34? And since the trial last about 10-15 minutes and is being run over and over, you can still level up an alt in the 40's from running the trial over and over?
Yeah, why would anyone above level 10 exemp down for a lowbie trial?

Yeah, same with me. Haven't been able to update any SoA 2-10 costumes. I've got a Huge Crab Spider model and the only thing I can edit is the 1st, default costume.
To note, this only affects me with the Super Tailor. The regular tailor doesn't seem to crash me when editing 2-10.
