After giving in, I decided to show off the Arachnos Elite's base. After taking screenies of it, I decided that they didn't best capture the base as a whole.
So, may I present to you, in DivX video format.. the Arachnos Elite's base! (Virtue Server, to avoid any confusion.)
http://www.arachnoselite.com/tour/
Video is 6 minutes long. Hope you enjoy.
(DivX codec must be installed on your comp to view it. I chose this format since it best preserves the quality of the original video.)
*Note* In the war room I accidentally mis-typed the amount of seats in the room. It should be listed as 100+, not 1000+.
**For those of you that don't want to download the DivX Codec to view the high quality version of this video, a lower quality version of the video can be found here - http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...7797&hl=en ** -
Is w00t down? haven't been able to access the domain all day.

Excellent! The Commander and Countess made their way into the comic. hehe, thanks :P

My question is..
Since we only have up to 75 members up till the release of Issue 11, then once it goes live, we can get up to 75 more members.. how much time will there be between going from 75 to 150 members before the Dec 10 prestige increase?
I ask because many groups, mine included, aren't just going to take on 75 more people in a very short amount of time. Some of us run very structured groups that many will not get the full benefits because we just don't take any and all comers. So, it seems that the only people that will benefit this prestige increase will be the prestige farming groups, rather than the RP groups..
Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. I'm just trying to figure out how to fill an RP only groups roster to 150 before the prestige grant. -
Positron,
Does this mean that, well, since Mastermind pets are actually Masterminds weapons.. will we be able to customize the looks of our pets? Like give them their own costumes?
If so, and you were a woman, and single... -

Your timetable is a bit off. The 5th in the PDP were only there for a few days, during the 5th/Council wars that happened upon the release of Issue 3. That was January, 2005. They were most assuredly gone when the PDP closed its doors in February of the following year, due to the opening of Pocket D. I used to shortcut through there all of the time to avoid the heavy lag of the Talos train station, and left my main parked inside when the patch removing access to it was due to hit the live servers. There were no 5th in there at that time.
Edited: Linky to a thread from the time where we disscussed the 5th's presence in the PDP.

Coolness. I thought it was later and I just got schooled -
Did you know...
that the 5th Column took over the original Paragon Dance Party shortly before closing its doors?
The Dev's loaded the Dance Party with 5th Column, I assume, to give it some interest after people slowly stopped visiting and only used it to get from one zone to another.
Either that, the Devs wanted to keep people out of the PDP by loading it with many way-too-high-level purple 5C's.
Did you know...
that it took me over 7 hours to read this entire thread? -
I, for one, am getting sick of doule XP weekend. Not because it's not a great idea, but because this is the third one I'm going to miss. Each time I plan a vacation in advance, you go and announce another Double XP weekend when I'll be away from my PC.
Thanks

Ok, I know that I'm probably gonna hear flack for it, but I agree 100% when the threads get "modsmacked," closed, or deleted.
Yes, this is an online community, but this is also a corporate run website. This isn't a fansite... it's an official one. Though there may not be rules posted about how to act in the community and what is or isn't acceptable, the "rules" are subject to change at any time. They provide the space for us to do this, so things have to be done their way.
I didn't read all of the posts yet, so I appologize if someone already mentioned this.

Plus, Walmart.com pulled the Good vs Evil from the search results, but the link still exists... hmmm...
-
I called the Walmart corporate headquarters, yes... geek alert, and they said that most exclusive items are usually heavily advertised before releasing them. They said they have no specific information around the game, but seeing as it is not in their circulars/adverts that they are probably waiting so they can push the game with more advertising.
Since the Hero boom has returned this year (with Superman and Heroes on NBC) they must be waiting so they can push it, bigtime.
Hmmm.... wonder if we'll see an advert for it during Heroes?
I doubt it. But every now and then I see those Walmat Exclusive CD's (like Tim McGraw, Aerosmith, etc.) commericals on primetime programming. -
On the morning of December 24th, the Arachnos Commander awoke to find his email icon flashing on the screen of his private computer. He thought nothing of it as he walked to the shower. He emerged 15 minutes later, refreshed beyond all belief.
For the most of the world, tomorrow is Christmas. But not the the Commander... not anymore. After spending the past 166 years in the body of a 26 year old, Christmas came and went. He felt no need to celebrate the holidays since everyone that he cared for died long ago.
The Commander entered his vault and walked over to his suit of Armor.
He thought, "Is it time to just give this up? Is it time to let go of everything and run off? I've been fighting for Lord Recluse for over 160 years... what have I accomplished? I don't think I can fight anymore."
The Commander thought about how great it would be to have a family once again. He thought about it many times but gave up after realizing that no one could ever cope with a husband or a father that never aged. Now he's thinking differently. For the first time in over a century he's thinking about love.
He picks up his hood and tells himself that this will be the last time he does so. He places it back down and walks over to the mirror. This is the first time in years that he's actually looked at himself, that he's studied himself. Not only does he notice the determination in his eyes but he also sees sadness. As he drops his glance to the floor, he swings around and walks past his military uniform, walks past his battle armor and walks over to an area of the vault he's rarely been in.
He opens the hidden door and stares in at all of the regular business attire he's collected over the years.
He starts to put on a white button down dress shirt. He tucks the shirt tails into a black pair of dress pants. He reaches down and grabs a pair of black dress shoes and puts them on. He grabs a tie that he's never seen before. It has an image of a Christmas tree on it. He grabs a business jacket and walks over the mirror, once again, to put on his tie.
As he's tying it around his neck, he notices that he's smiling. For the first time in many years, he's smiling at something other than destruction. He's smiling because of the the hope and joy he knows will come with the decision to walk away from this horrible place. He puts his jacket on, makes on final tug on his tie and walks out of the vault.
He knows that he has to leave this all behind. He knows that he will become the most hunted man in Arachnos history. For he has been the right hand man of Lord Recluse since the days of the old "Arachnos Posses" of the 1800's ((visit http://ww3.ArachnosElite.com/about/ for the backstory)). If he's not careful, he'll be dead within hours of them realizing that he's deserted the Arachnos.
As he is preparing to exit via his secret teleporter, he remembers that flashing email icon on his monitor.
"This will be the last official piece of Arachnos business I'll ever deal with as the Arachnos Commander. Tomorrow morning I will once again be Bair Adain."
He clicks on the email and sees that it is from one of the many business partners of the Arachnos. This company is called SoftNC. This is odd, because SoftNC rarely contacts the Commander. You see, SoftNC is a computer software distributor that the Arachnos funds to spread their propaganda within the software they sell. This is how the Arachnos recruits some of its younger members.
The emails subject line reads, "Town of Evil Website Contest Results." This is the code that they use when they are talking about important information regarding, not the Arachnos in general, but the Arachnos Elite. The Commander is well versed in this code so he has no problems deciphering it.
The Encoded email reads, " Thank you for participating in the Town of Evil Website contest. We appreciate your entry into the contest but have decided to choose someone else as winner. In fact, we have chosen quite a few others to be placed in a higher level than yourself. We're sorry, but you haven't even received an honorable mention. Thank you, once again for your submission. Better luck next time."
As the Commander is reading this, his heart begins to pump faster. He's becoming dizzy with all of the thoughts whizzing around in his head.
The deciphered email basically states that the Arachnos Commander has been set up. Someone is planning on making the Commander look like a fool in the eyes of Lord Recluse, and that someone resides somewhere inside the leadership of SoftNC. They are planning on making all of the Arachnos Commanders accomplishments look like they were done by someone else. And this person plans to destroy the Arachnos Elite and take over in place of the Commander.
He knows that the leaders of SoftNC have chosen the "Nemesis Council" to be their army. He knows that from now on, the "Nemesis Council" will be seen as the best of the best. He knows that SoftNC is trying to make people forget that the Arachnos Elite is just that.. Elite!
Now, the Commander knows that this would be the perfect opportunity to step down and fade away into the depths of existence. He is thinking, "Just walk away and this "Nemesis Council" will take the place of the Arachnos Elite and in time I'll be forgotten. I'll be able to live my immortality the way I please."
The Commander knows what he should do. He walks over to the Teleporter, types in a destination and is about to hit the Teleport button. His finger is within inches of pressing it, yet he is frozen. He drops his arm but he is still staring at the transport. He backspaces the destination which he just typed... " Paragon City. " He is debating on if he's willing to type in another location.
Footsteps are heard walking away from the transporter, as we focus on the terminal and the blinking red Transport button. The view slowly views into the blinking cursor that is to the right of " Enter Destination: "
The cursor stops flashing as typing beings.
" Enter Destination: Mission Map - SoftNC Headquarters "
As we pan focus out, we see a black, armored glove extend to a large black and red suit of armor. The red Arachnos Emblem is glowing on the chest plate. As we pan up, we see the face of Bain Adain. There is no longer a smile on his face, for what had just transpired seemed like a distant memory. There is a look of anger, a look of unadulterated evil now flowing through his eyes.
He raises his battle helmet, places it over his head and locks it onto his armor.
He looks down and swiftly hits the Transport Button. Within seconds he is standing inside the lobby of SoftNC. He grabs his communicator and calls for his Soldiers. His mercenary, Mayhem descends from above. His soldiers, Slaughter, Axxis and sYnn appear from out of nowhere. His Special Ops, snYper and Demon repel from ceiling.
The Commander is thinking, "So SoftNC thinks that I'm just going to back down? They think I'm going to step aside and let the "Nemesis Council" be number one? They really think that the Arachnos Elite can be beat?"
He turns to his troops and delivers an order to them.
"Let's give these punks a Christmas they'll never forget. Defeat the leader and his guards and spare no one along the way."

The Arachnos Elite is now recruiting those that are interested a total Arachnos based Villain Group.

We are dedicated to the pursuit of taking back what was taken from us... our freedom!
For some reason, we are seen to be the "bad guys" or the enemies. That is a major misrepresentation cast upon us by the supposed "heroes" of Paragon City.
Unlike the "Defenders of Paragon," we accept creatures from all walks of life. Sure, they may say that they will take anyone to be a "defender" but if you notice, they pretty them up! That's right! They only take recruits if they CONFORM to their disgusting standards!
We accept ANY and ALL no matter what deformity or handicap that may plague them. Unlike the citizens of Paragon, we love you all! We don't mock you like they do. We show you how to make the most of your abilities, whether they are considered abnormal or not. We will mold you into something you can be proud of... we mold you into something everyone will fear!

There are certain requirements for membership, but there are many incentives, including a Free ArachnosElite.com email address, more than one exclusive members areas (depending on rank), an exclusive forum as well as 50 megabytes storage for all your CoV screenshots and movies!
A fan fiction section is available for those interested in creating depth to the Arachnos Elite. Contests and prizes will be available, depending on membership.
There is also an exclusive Phone Hotline where you can call and get updated messages from the Arachnos Commander himself (Massachusetts based #, where the Arachnos Elite is based; long distance charges may apply, so get parents/guardians permission before calling)
Best of all, this is the FIRST Villaingroup to offer a PvP Hit List! So Heroes (and Villains) beware!
We hope to get at least 60 recruits that meet the standard requirements.
When all is said and done, the Arachnos Elite will be the most feared Villaingroup in the Rogue Isles
