  1. Just wanted to wish the bestest birthday to the bestest person in the whole wide world. Happy Birthday Kegan!

    *passes out pink cupcakes*
  2. Not being able to change the color of male hair under the hats is something that should be fixed ASAP. Considering the moustaches are colorable (to an extent) the same should carry over to hair.

    Edit:

I hate to be a downer but I had expected much more from this booster. To me, it feels sloppily thrown together and is missing 90% of the actual ability to customize. I can understand the "we'll fix it down the line" but I think this is going to turn off players to the point where people won't buy it till it's fixed.

As repeated: baked in colors, limited customization in pieces that matter (hair color, secondary hair color, all of the Steampunk costume pieces), incorrect textures (sleeves don't have the same texture as the jacket), pieces that should be for all genders, etc.

I'd suggest holding off on it because, seriously, without the customization to start, it's just stuff that really has such a limited use. As it is now, I think this might be the first booster I pass on.

The ONE thing I'd really like to hear from the devs is WHY with each new booster pack there is less and less customization available? You'd think that the more pieces you have the more ways you could use them. Not so since the Science Booster. There is not one booster made that hasn't severely clipped with all other costume pieces. Why can't I use the Vanguard face detail with the Steampunk hats? I mean, the option is there... you'd assume that you could. Nope. The hat and detail clip badly.

I really wish for 3-5 months, instead of giving us a new zone or a new TF, someone would just take a cleanup crew and get everything in order. I hate to have little to no use for costume pieces that SHOULD be good, but are too limited in their use. CoH was all about making your characters unique. In recent years we've been forced to slowly look like everyone else just to use the "latest shiny."
  3. When I had an active EU account, I had the global name @Arachnos Commander there as well as @Arachnos Commander on the NA server. When I published my arc (cheap plug: Revelations; arc #1007) both my EU and NA accounts got credit for the votes. So if someone on the EU server voted for my arc, I got tickets on my EU account. If someone on the NA server voted, I got tickets on my NA account. The only way it stopped was when I sent in the arc to Dr. Aeon and he reuploaded it (because it was a dev's choice) and instead of adding the @Arachnos Commander to the publisher section, he added Arachnos Commander (without the @ symbol.)

With taking that into consideration, I wonder how many people were earning tickets from never publishing an arc just by having the same global name as someone that did publish?
  4. When I first started, after a friend coaxed me into playing, they invited me to a mission with a bunch of level 40s. I was told "stay up here near the war walls." The map was destroyed and everything on the map was WAY higher level than my character.

I had no idea what a powerlevel was so I though that missions with lowbies teamed with high levels forced low levels to stand next to the war wall. We just stood around and chatted till someone said, "exit."

A few days later, when I was invited to a team, I ran over to the war wall and just stood there thinking that what I did a few days earlier was how the game was played.

About a minute later, the team leader asked in chat, "Umm.. where'd the tank go?" Having no clue that a tank was actually supposed to tank, I replied, "I'm hugging the wall. Where is everyone else?"

30 seconds later I was kicked from the team.

Suffice to say, I learned pretty fast how the game really was meant to be played. :P
  5. ----DOWNLOAD CONCEPT----

Download is not one person, but a set of 5 people (a new person for each costume slot) that share the same thoughts/memories. While one version of Download may be on your team, another version of Download might be elsewhere, fighting crime or perpetrating an evil deed.

Think of Johnny Mnemonic meets the TV series, Dollhouse. Instead of having to be hooked up to a machine to upload their memories, they are constantly linked via satellite implant. This allows real-time updating of each others memory.

Each Download is fitted with a holographic suit that allows them to take the form of whatever enemies they come across. Sometimes they blend into the group, but more often than not, their crossed personalities make them want to fight anyone in their path.

Every Download has default enemy holograms programmed into their memory (costume codes) but can also take on the forms of any other hero/villain they come across (via costume creator.)

Download has one purpose: to gather information from Paragon, the Rogue Isles and Praetoria. Why? There is always a greater threat lurking in the shadows and, unknowingly, Download is helping them find a weakness in all of our defenses!

As the character develops, its costume will gradually upgrade to fit the latest technology. But to start, simple is best since it's starting fresh in a new world, unaware of the technology throughout the world of CoH.

Concept Screenies (for the first 3 costume slots; the other two will be determined on new faces from upcoming boosters):

The idea is that each time I play the alt, I will pick either female, male or huge and not play the same gender twice in a row. This way the character will be different for each team, but will still have the same memories as the rest. I have all the costume codes (so far) and it will allow me to have many different looks aside from the 5 costume slots we can unlock.

(Note: A long time ago I had this idea incase the name Download ever was freed up. I never planned on using this concept unless I got the name. So, seeing that it's going to become available has renewed my interest in this character and I'd be ultra excited if I was chosen. )

    ----HACK CONCEPT----

Hack is a cybernetic creation made to keep watch over Download. Since Download was made to sympathize with humans, there is a chance that it could feel the plight of the human race. In order to be sure that Download does not follow the wrong path, Hack was charged with destrying any copies of Download that do not follow through with the master plan.

  6. Might want to look at previous patch notes. I believe they capped the auto channel removal at 30 days about 6 months ago, back when the system wasn't even working.

In Virtue United, when it was set to 14 days, we were not given a message in the chatbox that it was set, but when it was changed to 30 days, we got the confirmation message that, after 30 days, inactive players would be removed.

    *Edit*

From the Going Rogue patch notes:
    http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/pat...patch_not.html

    Quote:
The channel admin command /chan_timeout " is working correctly now. The minimum time that can be set for timeout has been increased from 7 days to 30 days. Channels that have already been set to a timeout period of less than 30 days will be unchanged.
  7. Well, if you're deleting your toons and need someone to hold the names for you incase you decide to return... look no further :P

Though I can't guarantee that I wont level up said alts >.>

*eyes Download, Pleasure, Pain, Hack, Optimal and Spark names*

The only things I have running in the background is either the TV or the Howard Stern show

I feel differently. If earned through a bug: keep it. If earned through an exploit: remove.

The reason that people had badges removed (ie. hero badges on a villain) was because they exploited their way into getting them, not "acidentally" bugged their way into it.

I know. The hero badges I had on my villain were gained by tricking your way past the system. I didn't just stumble into them accidentally. Same with the badges that were removed from you. (Barring that hero exploration badge that villains were awarded that was removed.) AE badges were considered exploitative in nature, so they were removed. Badges that were earned by a villain forcing his way into a hero-only mission map (ie. teaming in RWZ and entering the "Ferry" through the exit door) were removed because the villain was never supposed to have the ability to get into that map.

Now we're in an age where everyone has the abliilty to earn almost every badge. These Praetorian badges will be no different as they will, most likely, add a way for non-Praetorians/Primal Sympathizers to earn them via flashback.

The last couple of years before GoRo was introduced, the devs stopped trying to limit what badges could be earned based on faction. When I found and posted on how to get the "Lost Cure" badge on a villain, the only thing the devs did was try to fix the way the badge was earned (by adding the Hero Mission/Villain Mission stipulations to the arc.) But, even when that was still able to be bypassed to get the Lost Cure badge on villain, they just let it go. They didn't mark the badge as Hero Only, as they could have done.

At this point, there is no need to remove badges from people because, in the end, the opportunity will be there to get them all.
  10. I play with Blazing Tiger all the time and she does, in fact, have those Praetorian badges.

This would not be a valid test for any "server transfer related" badge at all.

Basically this new badge was simply meant to be an enticement to participate in a server stress test, and a pretty shortsighted enticement at that.
As of now, with the testing on the beta server, they could very well have most of the NA/EU server list merges squared away. Out of all the testing so far, there have been minimul issues with the merged copies of the live servers on the beta shard.

No one has ever asked us to transfer to Freedom. Not even for a badge. They have asked us to join them, so making an alt would suffice. Over a year ago, Positron mentioned that if they ever did bring Passport back, they would NOT make it so that you have to purchase a transfer seeing as they don't want any "paid for" badges.

Yes, I am speculating that it is Passport, seeing as it is a "Freedom only badge." So those of us that don't play on Freedom (which would be the majority of players) would, in fact, be earning a badge by "visiting" a different server. Kind of like when Passport was introduced.

Sure, it's just my thoughts and the chances are that it isn't Passport. But if it is, I'm not going to complain one bit

If it is Passport, I'd imagine the idea was a way for people to get the badge without having to transfer. This way anyone that doesn't play on Freedom could just create an alt to unlock the badge so that it's then available to all you alts.
  13. There might be a specific reason for awarding an "account wide" badge to all players that take part in the Freedom event. What other account wide badge dealt with going to another server? One that all of the badgers have been begging for for years?

My bags are packed and I'm just waiting on my "Passport" to arrive
  14. Avatea, any chance we can get clarification on it there will still be separate clients for regions?

I have an NA and EU account. Will I be able to login to my EU account with the NA client, or will I have to download the EU client?
  15. How many of you EU players will be moving to a NA server once the merged server list is implemented?

I had an EU account for about a year (along with my NA account) and I know that many times badge runs, hami raids, etc. were hard to come by (even during EU peak times.)

I, for one, can't wait for the server list merge. Will be fun to play on an EU server again but with all my vet rewards and perks from my NA account
  16. Hmm. Didn't get a reactivation email either. Well, the plus is that I can finally delete the toons from my EU account so I can recreate them on my main NA account
  17. Excellent!

Any word on the Passport badge becoming available on NA accounts if players EU side create alts on any of the NA servers? If so, how does this carry over as an exclusive account related badge that no one NA side can get, except for players with an EU account? Not a complaint but NA never had any exclusive NA only badges.

Any chance passport will become available to all, once NA/EU merges if someone moves an alt from a NA server to EU server? (since that was the only way to get the badge in the first place)
  18. Also, take into consideration that many people have switched sides and that most "villains" are playing heroside to take in the content there. Just because only 7 villains show up in each villainzone doesn't mean that there aren't any rogues/vigilantes that are around, willing to team.
  19. Doable on beta. It's called "learning how to play" rather than be "spoonfed the same gruel" year after year.
  20. Hey look! It's Venture and he's got more complaints about a storyline! Shocking!

Venture, as we all know, history is written by the "winners." The "losers" story always gets fallen by the wayside. Where we learned something doesn't mean it's the factual truth. When the "losers" story is reintroduced, it opens people up to thinking about the same thing in more than one way. So, because YOU believe something doesn't make it to be the truth. Because others believe the opposite also doesn't make it the truth. This is where people form "opinions" on the same subject.

You can go ahead and continue to have your belief because in the end, the story has multiple endings because the devs made them that way. Just because they want you to believe something new each issue doesn't mean that their new story is the truth. It's part of "storytelling."

So just quit with the f'n ranting issue after issue about nonsence based on the beliefs you have from a fictional, expanding storyline within an online videogame that has no basis in reality. Do something productive rather than beat the same dead horse issue after issue.
  21. Xp will be running out in one year from today?

Does that means CoH2 will be releasing next year?

"OMG WTF why do you ***** about this for no reason STOP OVERREACTING what's the big deaaaaal rrrraaaarrrrgggghhhh *drops down with foam at the mouth*"

    Fanboy goggles sure seem fun.

Meanwhile in the real world... Numerous factual complaints have been made about the NCSoft launcher, such as it being a performance hog, crashing, causing blue screens, and so on. Sticking your fingers in your ears and pretending the problems don't happen because they don't happen to you personally works when you're a toddler who doesn't want to eat his vegetables regardless of how many starving african kids stories mommy tells him, but it's kind of a silly attitude to have as an adult.

Find something else to complain about. Seems like your version of reality is as distorted as your version of virtual reality.

(btw, you have NO idea how long I've been sitting on this graphic I made. Finally, a troll thread that mentions goggles, fingers in ears, and blue screens!)
