  1. You could just run around Cap au Diable until you run into the Gremlins for an idea of what they'll look like.
  2. ...and I seem to have used up all of my creativity over the years, what little of it I originally even may have had. This is probably a silly request, and sounds more than a little lazy, but would anyone be kind enough to throw a few suggestions at me for a concept or costume? I've tried pestering my in-game buddies but their ideas are limited to "make a catgirl " or "Wolverine 2 lolol xD".

Discounting VEATs/HEATs, this is probably the first time I've ever gotten the idea for a powerset combo I want to play, before getting an idea for a concept or costume first.

Addendum: Not to sound all wannabe-mature or anything, but I don't play comedy/joke characters. The novelty of a 'funny' concept wears off before level 10. Maybe I just lack a sense of humor.
  3. Doesn't the proc damage you instead of your enemies? Or did they fix that?
  4. I always thought the issue was that Poison is already the MM-balanced equivalent of Radiation Emission, and thus there is nothing to proliferate.
  5. Unless my memory has eroded from alcohol abuse, 31% would be the hypothetical best case scenario.
    10% base critical chance + (3% critical chance per team member within range of the Stalker's passive x 7 team members) = 10 + (3 x 7) = 10 + 21 = 31% chance to critical strike.

As I said, hypothetical best case scenario; if I recall correctly, the radius of the passive is comparable to Grant Cover (or was it Phalanx Fighting?), and thus you're unlikely to have the ranged toons on your team close enough to benefit from them at all times.
  6. Fury is a love-it-or-hate-it mechanic. Personally, some of the most fun I've had in the game has been while I was frantically rushing along, trying to keep the bar from dipping lower, keeping it as high as possible. It's like an adrenaline meter for those players among us who love our Brutes. Your damage will be 'front loaded' after the first spawn, assuming you take the alpha and are not in a group of 7 Dominators.

On the flipside, I hate Scrapper criticals because Stalker crits are so much more fun and reliable. And more frequent. The randomness and unpredictable nature of Scrapper crits more often than not just ends up throwing off my flow and rhythm when something accidentally dies a little faster than I expected once or twice a mission.
I also hate the Defense mechanic, mind you. Dying to a random number generator is incredibly frustrating. Off topic, yes, but I'm just trying to explain my dislike for Scrappers. Either way I look at them, they're either squishy Brutes with random uncontrollable damage spikes as opposed to the reliable Fury mechanic, or Stalkers with lower crit chance and without all the other things that make Stalkers fun to play.

Say, number crunchers? I'm just curious, how much damage would a Stalker put out in comparison to a Scrapper, at 'peak performance'? Damage cap and 31% chance to crit, that is.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but about that hypothetical Fake Nemesis situation... I thought non-custom mob groups can only run one of each toggle per group at a time? As far as I know, this is why you don't have Tsoo Sorcerers stacking Hurricanes/Chill of the Night in an 8 man spawn.

Again, do correct me if I'm wrong.
  8. I had this issue just the other day. Try changing your camera angle around a bit, it eventually worked for me and I got the badge.

Also, if it's 'been a few months', do make sure you're trying to click the correct banner, but I suppose you probably already did this.
  9. I used to have this problem back in the day, but it seems to have fixed itself just as randomly as it appeared.

    Dark Control

Ehhh... Something like this would make it absolutely certain that Controllers will never get Dark Miasma as a secondary. And that's terrible.

Needs a bit more thought in that general direction.

    Ninja, Run, Nao!

Would actually make sense, considering how ninjas are the fastest runners.

[Edit]: Apparently my info is outdated, never mind.
  13. Alright, with all the rambling and wild mass guessing and paranoid ranting I've been hearing here and there from some very vocal minorities, I'm having minor difficulties figuring out what's truth and what's baseless rumormongering.

My question is, hopefully, rather straightforward:
Will there be a downloadable version of the complete GR? Not the pre-purchase one, but the complete one with the extra month and bonus items that's coming out in July(?). I've been hearing mentions of a boxed edition but worryingly nonexistant talk of electronic versions.

Due to reasons I won't get into here, obtaining a boxed edition would be difficult for me. Should I just preorder it now while it's in the online store and buy the bonus pack later? I've been holding out so far because I heard the complete pack will give you more bang for your buck (a free month of play among other things).

I've only recently come back to the game and haven't been keeping up to date with this sort of info, you see. Clarifications from someone in the know would be most appreciated.
  14. Most of my toons will probably end up as Rogues. I have a habit of playing characters who aren't evil per se, but are on the wrong side of the law anyway.

A few exceptions, of course. Lord Crow is a perfectly stereotypical evil mad scientist and will remain a villain. Dr. Ecco will remain a hero.
Apollo XIII will remain a hero only because EATs won't get to side-switch, or so I've heard. The moment this changes, he's going Nictus.
  15. Yeah, I have a 50 Thugs/Dark/Soul MM. This is actually why Bots/Traps feels so dull - with Dark Miasma, there's always something from the secondary ready to use, always something to do, and this something is guaranteed to be very useful and awesome because Dark Miasma is just like that. Maybe Dark Miasma being as uber and fun as it is has just spoiled me, I don't know.

The only quick-recharge ability in Traps is Web Grenade, which is one of the least visually impressive powers in the game, is single target, and which I mostly only use for catching runners, keeping AVs in place, or grounding flyers. Not much point in spamming it on anything but the AVs, as the duration is long enough. Everything else in Traps has a moderate to long recharge duration. In a team against normal enemies, this is much less of an issue, but against AVs - especially solo or in low-damage teams - I tend to fall asleep spamming webnades, waiting for them to die.

Also, I do have binds for pet micromanagement. It's just that most of the content in the game doesn't demand much of it past sending pets to stand close enough to use all their ranged attacks, or at an angle that hits an entire spawn with cones.
  16. This misconception comes from all the stock MMORPGs where you need a tank, a healer, and DPS to have any chance of doing anything in a team.

Buffs are by far better than heals in CoX anyway.

    Can I ...

Closest I can think of without additional details on what you had in mind.
  18. How about fleeing Giant Monsters? Ghost of Scrapyard is one of the worst offenders in the irrational AI cowardice department.

    No Reflections?

The problem is with their cards, and it looks pretty damn ugly so you're not missing out. I have an ATI card myself and I play with water effects turned off for this reason.
  20. Eh, I don't have any expensive stuff in my Thugs/Dark and I kill nearly any AVs without issue. Soloed Ghost Widow as an AV in the patron arc, and I don't bother with IOs before level 50 so this was on SOs. You get a pocket Brute and Fluffy, and the rest of the gang does some lovely, steady damage. With your own Dark powers, debuffing is no problem (you have one of the 'hard' regen debuffs, -res in Tar Patch, and more than one source of -damage) and keeping the pets alive is easy. Later on, your immobilization becomes a little more reliable thanks to patron pools, but earlier on Fluffy can handle this if you slot him for it.

Well, alright, I had the Achilles Heel proc in my Enforcers, but it's not like that IO is particularly rare. I find at least one on every single new villain I level.
  21. Storm Summoning. Earth/Storm is just ridiculously good and fun.

Except for low-level, but why would you do that on a Controller of all things to begin with anyway?
  22. I don't think anything solos AVs better out of the box than MMs. If that's your criteria then you may want to look at a Thugs/Dark or something.

Speaking from experience as an owner of a 50 Thugs/Dark myself.
  23. I'm tempted to petition for 'Brutal' animations for Kinetic Melee in advance.

Picture this: Instead of doing some sort of Tai Chi routine and waving your hands about, you just punch the air so hard it knocks your enemy on his backside from afar.
Just make the animation times match.
  24. Oh dear, not another dancy-prancy powerset. Dual Pistols already looked silly.

Brutes don't dance! Unless it's The Monkey.
  25. I'm less bothered by animations and more bothered by the Speed pool's terrible colors. Bright orange flare under your feet while you're running Super Speed, ugh... Ruins the feel of so many visual designs, the way it clashes with everything that is not Fire. Hasten too.
