Ok here it goes. They didn't have to care about the supply in BM last year. I bet with merits the moment something rare is not on WW/BM to buy without having grindmerits, they will have to do something because this board is gonna light up.
In other words if merits adversely effect the supply of recipes that can be bought with inf on the market, people are going to explode in rage and angry here on the boards.

Darth, that doesn't follow on. The complaints about lack of Recipes at the BM are long and many.
I don't see them doing anything about rares drying up at the BM or WW. The Devs are knowingly and willingly consigning these segments of the "Primary Market" to oblivion.
They don't care about the market, they've given birth to a new and better market. -

I like the idea of a Merit system and this seems like a good effort on the part of the Developers, I'm just not sure why they are removing the old mechanic in conjunction with this implementation.
Has there been any Dev rationale for that? I was under the impression that the merit system was supplemental or alternative to the current reward system.
Open Beta is more about load testing and I doubt things will change unless there is a significant outcry and even then, we may not see a change.
In any case, I will be making my preference known to leave the reward window in place with Merits being an added option upon completion. I urge all who are just learning of this change and disagree with it to do so as well.

Originally this whole merit system was pitched to the players as a additional way to get a recipe, however it has been implemented to remove the option to have a random recipe drop.
I dislike this a lot. It gets rid of the incentive to run the shorter task forces since they are going to be worth less than they once were. the base for a lot of the task forces are 25, which is enough for a single random roll, which is good. If the random recipe drop were reinstated as an option I think the merit system would be fantastic.

To Ironblade: Eden gets completed in 10-15 minutes on average, no typo.
To Cobaltix: Correct, you get awarded Merits or a choice of Merit/SHO/Titan-O/Hydra-O. Respecs give you Merits + Respec or bonus Merits.
There was a lot of discussion on that topic. Unfortunately, no new SFs in this patch. Villains will have to run Ice Mistral/ITF or run some arcs like Mender Lazarus or Von Grun to pad their Merits.

Hmmm ... not sure I like the removal of a choice of a random roll upon TF Completion. How is this change being accepted by the Closed Beta Population?
While I agree that the Villain Side SF's are of a higher quality than many Hero Side TF's, I do wish there were a few more choices and variety withing level ranges.

Eden is faster than Katie when done right. We did it in like 20 minutes on Pinnacle recently. -
Great write up Neuronia, thanks for all of your hard work as well as the other Testers who participated.
A couple of clarifying questions :
1) Do I read this as when you complete a Task Force, you no longer get to choose a random Recipe but instead have to go to a merit store and purchase a Roll on the Table?
2) Was there any discussion in the Beta about Villain Side SF Disparity and if there are any plans to address that either via this system or by the creation of new Villain Only content (IE, more SF's in greater level ranges)?

Love the update to this, my favorite event. The increased spawns at the doors for ToTing are excellent and the Zombie Invasion is full of win.

I've been a staunch supporter of Badge [censored] rights in my career in the game and I've agreed with many of your Badging Stances, SG. But seriously, you'd quit the game over this issue? Can you explain that to me?
I've become much less of a Badge [censored] since Inventions came out. The task of crafting for Badges broke my desire to "have them all" as it were. I'm ok with that. There was always a list of Badges that had an asterisk in my mind, denoting the fact that I would never earn them in my career in the game. At a certain point, it's just not worth it. I'd rather spend my time playing the game instead of worrying about which Badges I need to work toward.
Anyway. Ramble mode off. I guess I'm just surprised you'd leave the game over this issue. -

Thank you for your feedback. We would LOVE to come up with a way for players to "gift" our Super Boosters to other players. The real problem with this lies in credit card fraud. It may seem like a simple problem, but it's really very complex. Once we have a workable solution that Billing and Customer Service can sign off on, we will allow players to gift Microtransactions post haste.
Yes, yes, Rocket Packs are on Sexy Jay's todo list, I just am not exactly clear on when they will be done.
