Quote:You left out this part: (and the changes to Keyes is a direct result of feedback from players), which would be the 'squeaky wheel' I referred to earlier. The changes were based on objective data-mining, not just number of complaints.
Also, data-minin' just says that it wasn't bein' run as often as somethin' that people were more comfortable with. Which is normal. People don't like change. They stay within their comfort zone. It doesn't actually say why. However, as above, the why is stated as bein' based upon player feedback, which it must've been negative as it wouldn't have been changed otherwise. Thus, again, squeaky wheel.
Quote:Better yet- the insistent, demanding paying customer gets satisfaction. The company has more of an obligation to please us rather than us them.
What about those o' us who didn't have a problem with it, who still ran the content with the original challenge o' it, and enjoyed it? Just because we didn't feel the need to run to the forums and proverbially heap praise upon our content overlords doesn't mean that I wasn't pleased by their efforts and output. We just went about our business and pressed forth. That's what I meant above by 'no news is good news'. Keyes is referred to as lolKeyes now because o' the changes. It's not a challenge anymore. It's a joke. Even if you have 1% regen, you'll be back at full health before the next pulse hits. Why bother havin' it now if it's not goin' take effort on part o' the league to overcome it?
Quote:Let me break it down for you, as I see it. You don't see the need for Dark Astoria, otherwise you would be part of this aforementioned "vocal minority" and thus wouldn't refer to it as a vocal one. Thus, you're getting something you didn't ask for. You are, therefore, perpetuating the kind of "us vs. them" mentality that's damaging to the community.
Either that, or you really did want Dark Astoria and are therefore describing yourself as being in a vocal minority, therefore bringing the kind of self-depreciating rhetoric that spawns these "us vs. them" arguments in the first place.
---
All of that said, nice dodge, changing subject like that, when the bigger question is how you know who's a majority and who's a minority at all with no access to data-mining of any kind. Or are you relying on anecdote impressions and word-of-mouth head counts?
See above for what I said about data-minin' and what part it actually plays.
I've said what I wanted to say, and clarified for those that questioned, and now I'll get back to actually spendin' more time playin' the game than talkin' about it. -
Quote:Good thing I got what I wanted and this doesn't apply to me, eh?Yeah, the "vocal minority" hypocrisy as perpetuated by people who didn't get what they wanted. Maybe you should blame your own silent minority for it, then?
But 'ey, you assumed, and that's what assumptions get you. -
Quote:The squeaky wheel gets the grease.Their opinions are apparently widely held enough to merit changes to at least Anti-Matter Island and the introduction of the Dark Astoria thing. Go figure.
And by 'squeaky wheel', I mean if the hugely vocal minority complains long and loud enough, they'll eventually get their way just to get'em to shut up for five minutes. -

In regards to updatin' the Champion Event Calendar, are these still happenin'?

Quote:Because I like it and want it? That's why most people purchase somethin'.I'm sure NCSoft thanks you for frivilously giving them your money/Paragon points. We hope you continue to support their five minutes of work each week to create overpriced, re-skinned and rehashed items sold on the Paragon Market.
I mean why do people just blindly buy this stuff?
Thanks for playin'. -
Aaand purchased.
Thank you for this quality product to which I will continue to support. -

Quote:I'm not as it was filed under 'if', to which I don't think it'll ever happen.... wait, you guys are seriously rallying to have more content -removed-?
Seriously?
Im all for a zone revamp like what was done for Faultline. Heck, I think -every- CoH zone needs to be revisited and given clear story arcs like how redside works. But removing things is bad.
I was really just listin' off my favorite zones. -

Ugh.
Posi said he was chosen in the Mortimer Kal SF cutscene, which isn't entirely correct. It was directed at Manticore, but Positron dived in and got it instead.
See image below.
Not sayin' you're wrong, Sam, or that this is what you were gettin' at, but this is just somethin' that irks me in-game and seein' it obliquely referenced.
As for the Prometheus speculation... I've got my theories. Mostly stuff along the lines that he did what the Well does now by first givin' fire to humanity. He's likely what the Well replaced... perhaps forcibly. -

Praetoria: I like First Ward, but not so much the rest o' Praetoria. I will admit that First Ward might not've been as great if I didn't have the other zones to weigh it against. Better by comparison, I suppose.
Rogue Isles: Nerva for the Tree of Thorns, Cap for the PTS, Mercy for the Snakes, and Sharkhead for the Leviathan, PO for Mr. Bocor alone, St. Martial for the Golden Giza and Johnny Sonata's story. I don't really care for Grandville, although The Web is nifty, but not enough so to make it stick out in my mind terribly. I also like the Abyss.
Paragon City: Faultline for the time travel, Croatoa for the folklore, DA for the atmosphere, Striga for the fact there's a base in a freakin' volcano and the storyarcs are shiny, all the Shadow Shard zones, Eden and the Hive for Hami.
Co-op: Cimerora for that time travel feel and the uniqueness o' the zone. Rikti Warzone since you can literally fight an alien mothership's horde o' bad guys.
PvP: BB for the Shivans, Warburg for the missile launches and Rogue Arachnos elements, and RV for the temporal zone changes.
Edit: Oh, yeah, Ouroboros and Pocket D too. I got a theory. -

Quote:QFT, Demo.I'm really enjoying the set thus far. My TW/EA Scrapper is lvl 41 currently, and even without sets he's pretty beastly. Yeah, there are still some issues with the set, the most glaring being that the cone attacks don't seem to reliably activate when attacking a moving target, and yes, there are some delayed hit effects, but I don't think I've had this much fun with a powerset in a very long time.
This was the follow-up concept to my Bane, and it filled that niche very nicely.
Titan Weapons gets two blue thumbs-up from this guy.
