Woah dude. I was just asking a question, no need to nerdrage.
Ya, I tested the changes tonight a bit. Took my Earth/Fire against a +1 EB which went smoothly. Then rolled a Mind/Energy Dom and took him to level 5 running Burke's arc. Was a really fun experience.
I'll drop my feedback in the Main Thread once I get on Live to do the same missions for comparison.
Yep, so shut yo face. -
I like to find the most annoying person on the team and Power Thrust their target all over the map.

Have you tested the changes yet or you working on grabbing as many trial accounts as possible?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure if you really think about it you'll figure out how I could test low level doms.

Or just do what I suggested a couple pages ago. Make 2 powers mutually exclusive in the same set at the same level. Handclap A for KB and Handclap B for KD.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, are you suggesting this be done with every power that offers KB now? How about powers that only offer KD now?
I like the idea but it probably isn't as easy as people might think. -
I just want you to form a coherent sentence or shut up.

Nah, never cared about rankings. I only ever cared about the quality of folks behind the characters. -

Whiskey, Guiness, Water or Crystal Light Ice Tea. Separately of course...and yes I have tried them in different combinations. :/ -

Along with testing my Earth/Fire Dom, I want to roll a new lowbie on test.
Any have a good recommendation for a testing lowbie dom? I'm thinking either */psi or /energy. -
Pffft, my SS/WP Brute tops your sissy tankers.
SS/WP+Darkest Night > Tank
<runs>
psssst, the above is "humor." /fail -
Taking the alpha and surviving is not tanking. If saying it does makes you feel better about being a terrible Brute and an even worse Tank, then more power to you.

a properly played brute builds fury just fine without the need to taunt anything. i call it - 'attack chains'
[/ QUOTE ]
I asee the issue now. You must mainly solo.
[ QUOTE ]
brutes have the tanker hp cap, higher hp than scrappers, punch voke and taunt auras to help deal with the dmg they will be soaking up because they will be taunting everything and keeping it on them.
wow...isnt....isnt that tanking?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, that's not the role a Tank plays.
Like I said, tanks control aggro by directing it away from squsihies, etc. They sometimes forego offense for better defense. During normal missions, my tank doesn't even have an attack chain. I absorb alpha and then constantly move around the mob to ensure aggro control. I'll attack here and there to maintain control and provide some DPS. That's nothing like how I play a Brute.
None of my Brutes have Taunt, all my tanks have Taunt.
My Brute enters a mob with a chip on his shoulder and immediately attacks the biggest baddest critter in that mob. I tab to the next, the next and the last. I'm not worried about controlling anything other then pissing off the mobs around me to fuel my need to SMASH. -
So they can build fury, not hold aggro. Tanks "control" aggro while brutes just want it for Fury. It's not the same thing or playstyle.
-
Yes, my /SR is soft-capped. I believe it's 54%/52%/49% for defense with weave. My. /WP Brute is heavily IOed as well but I don't remember his stats off hand. I think he has ~35% defense to most everything. Which isn't bad with the amount of regen he can pump out with RttC.
-
[ QUOTE ]
People see it stronger than /SR but I fail to see how it can ever be superior than a soft cap defense oriented set.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a 50 SS/WP Brute and a 45 Fire/SR Brute.
They aren't much different in terms of playstyle. WP is "set it and forget it" meaning there is no active mitigation like INv with Dull Pain. And you know what? SR is the same (I put Practice Brawler on Auto).
My /WP is more survivable right now since he's got a few levels and slots on my SR Brute. In the end they'll be about equal I suppose but I have done the RWZ Scrapper Challenge on my SS/WP Brute easily and I'll have to give that same challenge a shot on the SR for one comparison.
Finally, I'll say the powersets are about equal and play very similar to one another depending on the Primary. -

You say NO!
[/ QUOTE ]
This is the reason why people get annoyed with you. Aett did ALOT more then say "no." Yet this is what you took away from the post.
Either provide some substance or bugger off already. -
I thought about that too, but there were times when these guys ran across the map to another room, but I haven't seen that behavior lately.
I remember fighting them and going, "I can't wait until I fight level 45 mobs so they are Ice Thorn Casters." -
It's weird that my experience differs so drastically from yours when I'm fighting ranged critters like Air Thorn Casters.
-
Been running a fair amount of CoT missions on my Brute (Mage-Killer arcs) and I've noticed it seems enemies run away alot less then they did before. Before what you ask? Maybe I14?
Now, I brought up fighting CoT for a reason. Among this group is the Air Thorn Caster (IIRC) and they are notorious for always running away, at least in my experience. However, not so much anymore. It seems they stand in fight and every once in awhile will try to flee but turn around instantly to attack again.
Was the AI of mobs "fixed" to stop them from running as much?
Anyone else notice the lack of running critters? -

Why not? Some sets have ranged attacks, so giving all the sets one would balance them out in that regard. Plus, it would fill a hole in the power sets that really doesn't need to be there.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not a reason. If you wish to redesign all melee sets to now contain one ranged attack, then you need to formulate a argument that isn't "why not?"
Your last sentence...I'm not sure that even makes sense.
