So, what did this thread deduce? DarkTyger is trash or is that the OP or both? I'm confused.
I like pie, and ribs but not together that would be silly. But ketchup, mustard, peanut butter and jelly...oh boy! -
If it were me, I'd slot for damage over end mod. The -endurance can be handy but most mobs will die before you remove all their endurance (and removing most endurance doesn't. if they have endurance, they can still attack).
I would frankenslot for damage/acc/end reducation and maybe a proc or two if you can manager. With DM as your primary, more AoE damage is a welcomed sight. -

I say take it and see how it works with your playstyle. Alot of the time it depends on your primary, etc. And if you are concerned with slots, just leave the default slot and toss a recharge reduction in there.
Sometimes getting a larger perspective helps make the decision or comparison easier. If you post a proposed build, then we might be able to see your dilemma and give more detailed advice. You don't have to include IOs, etc, but maybe a rundown of your power picks. -

Rage would still have a toggle cost, but ya...those fixes would make the set more overpowered unless SS was completely revamped WITH Rage.

If you are serious about your suggestion then you should give it more thought. Then make a post about the suggestion that states your desired goal and outline the revisions with facts and stats to support the change.
Basing the suggestion of opinion and personal want will not get very far around here...I'm sure you know that by now. -
Unfortunately, your idea would just make Tanks a better farming AT.
Max survivability and King of AoE Melee is a very bad idea. Unless, by King of AoE Melee, you just mean that hit alot of critters for anemic damage. -

On my SS/WP I built for +HP and then slotted for max damage. I have a seamless attack chain right now and wasn't worried about getting more recharge. I use Gloom from GW's PP to fill the gaps I had prior to level 41.
But has a Mace/ Brute, using Gloom would cause re-draw and that might be an issue for some. In other words, you might be able to build for +recharge/+HP to get a better attack chain without resorting to Pool attacks, and for a weapon set, I think that's a good goal.
To Tonal,
If you use Mid's take alook at building for +HP over +regen. While regen is nice for /WP, additional HP would increase your regen and survivability better. And most IO sets that offer a +HP bonus will offer a +regen component as well.

All I said was another highly resisted damage type is not something I want to play.

Perhaps you shouldn't post on public forums if disagreeing with you gets your feelings hurt. Not everyone likes Claws and pointing out the highly resisted damage type is not off topic. It's very much relevant and a point of discussion.
And you gotta be the biggest hypocrit I know, did you even read your own posts in the I15 Beta forums? 90% Negative.

You must be something very wrong on your Fire Melee Brute or you're lying.
SM has very high DPS, in a vaccuum (i hate spelling that word), but in real game play...the damage type makes the set lag behind Fire and Energy when fighting most enemy types, and especially EBs/AVs.
Now before you distort my comments, I'm didn't say SM was poor DPS when in fact it's probably the highest (if your endurance can handle it), but it's the DAMAGE TYPE that I dislike.
I've taken my SS/, EM/ and FM/ Brutes against many of the same AVs and my conclusion is FM is probably the best choice (maybe tied or just behind DM) for soloing AVs due to the damage type.

I didn't say smashing was more resisted then lethal. I said "highly resisted damage type." You know Smashing is the SECOND most resisted damage type in the game.
And if you think it doesn't make a difference then you need to play a Fire Melee Brute at high levels.
I find it a waste of resources and time. My opinion. -
I didn't say "lethal damage type." I said another highly resisted, so if you want to nitpick then you should include SuperStrength, Stone Melee, Mace, etc.

Brute Energy Melee is still a top contender in ST damage, but you are right about the lolaoe. -

You sure it's a cone? I took the info from CoD that lists the power as an AoE, 15 foot radius. I'm not home so I cannot get the power ingame. -
Doesn't anyone think they shoud reduce the current recharge and end cost of HC?
Reducing the KB to KD would be wonderful but a very doubtful fix.
I'm trying to get a real fix done, and that involves the ridiculous 30s recharge and 13 endurance usage. -
