I don't think you've played a high level Cold/ Defender.
With the shield duration being quite long, Heatloss having a long recharge and only using Benumb on really tough opponents; there's plenty of time to attack for a Cold/.
I use Sleet + Ice Storm almost every mob, not to mention spamming my 3 attacks and Infrigidate on bosses.
Nah, I'm going to disagree with you. -

I agree to abide by the rules, but I don't remember agreeing to be a policer of homage violations.

Then don't. But leave those who choose to help out to it.

You're jumping to conclusions as usual.
I weighed in with my opinion, like others, and I never said my opinion was better or the right one.
Sooooo...

But leave those who choose to not help out, to it.

The devs specifically asked the players to help with the finding and reporting of trademark/copyright infringement.
If you choose not to, no one is forcing you to.

No one is forcing you to petition people. I chose not to, for the only reason that it just doesn't bother me and I'd rather play the game.
You do what you like, and I'll do what I like. -
I understand that fixing bugs is important, but delaying content for bug fixes would be a bigger mistake.
It's really choosing between the lesser of two evils. You're also assuming the devs don't fix bugs AND work on new content simultaneously, which they do. -

Hi thread.
Cold > FF
I love my Cold/Ice Defender and he's perfect for the ITF, as a teammate. My favorite combo is 3 Luck Inspirations, 3-4 Reds and then PBU + Sleet + Heatloss + AIM + Ice Storm and Blizzard. It's perfect for the Towers on the ITF, especially when there's 1-2 tanks/brutes to gather up 30+ critters.
I die alot, but who cares. -
You left one out that I think should be in the top 3: Beserkers.
Brutes are level headed until they are attacked or start attacking, then Fury fuels, and increases their ire. -
I agree to abide by the rules, but I don't remember agreeing to be a policer of homage violations.

Kinda, but now they can also take Health without Swift/Hurdle, etc. That's pretty cool in my book since I'm always tight on power picks.

Meh, I'm a 36 month veteran

It woudln't be mandatory, just an option for folks like me who wants to use it.
I think it'd be nice to let the five year vets skip a few early levels...
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm already miffed you guys get to pick a travel power at level 6! >
JK, I hear what you are saying. I'm not sure if skipping some lower levels would be a problem, but skipping 20 is too much. I wouldn't bat an eyelash at 1-10 though. -
Meh, I'm a 36 month veteran and the low levels are some of the most exciting IMO. The leveling pace is so much fun and can easily hit level 10 in a couple hours just running sewers and police radio missions. I love selecting new powers and trying them out on the next mob.
I also really like respec-ing my characters and spend hours messing with Mid's. Once I get into the mid-high 40s I tend to get bored of a character since their progression is all but over. I've usually completed most slotting and I know the toon is about complete.
That's when I make a new one. -

I dont ever participate because they are all FAKE.
Its always someone hookin up their friend/s.
I play on Virtue, IT IS the Best Server... but CC suck.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't agree. Our SG has hosted a few CCs and not one was rigged. We usually have 3-5 judges and use a point system (IIRC) to determine the winner. It might take a few mins longer, but we feel the results are less biased.
CC losers will always claimed it's rigged since butthurtitude takes over after the winners are announced. -
I wouldn't mind a radius increase but I would be against a radius increase AND increasing recharge/endurance usage.
-
I think "Raged" is equally lame.
I'm going to go with Perturbed. -
That would be a bad idea. People are whining about the lack of content in Issue 15...what do you think would happen if they made Issue 16 have only bug fixes and no content?
There would be QQing on scales never witnessed...ok, maybe not AE Farm QQing or ED QQing, but alot of QQing fo sho. -

I don't report violations (other then a$$-hattery) for one reason...I don't care. I work 7-5 MF, and the weekends I tend to the yard (Fing weeds + FL sun = ridiculous).
When I do sit down to play this game I don't really care if I see W0nda W0m4n running by me or Amazon Chick. I'm here for my amusement and entertainment.
Kudos to those who feel policing the servers is their right and serves a just cause. I just don't care that much. -

i don't even see a need for this. we have inspirations that fulfill this roll already. this idea falls in the same place as the end drain resist io idea. not needed.
[/ QUOTE ]
So you see a need for a Chance to Hold proc, or Chance for Heal Proc or Chance for Stun Proc etc etc.
Ideas aren't always about need, ya know. There are many additions to this game that weren't needed but were added to improve on the overall enjoyment of the game. -

I could see this getting annoying with the "luck streaks" some folks hve.
Die-rez in the middle of a crowd-die-rez-die-rez-die.
Personally, my biggest objection is that I'd rather have control over when I rez (or can be rezzed.) I may want someone to TP me back instead - which, if I'm dead, is fine. If my "rez proc" fires off, I may be dragging back unwanted aggro. Not to mention:
(a) the number of sets that can GET a rez (every Blaster, for starters, if they take Fire mastery, FA, DA, Regen,)
(b) the powers this could mess with (Vengeance and Fallout.)
I just generally am not sold on the idea, even as a chance to proc.
[/ QUOTE ]
Did you miss the part where I said there would be a dialog box, just like any other rez, wehre you would choose to accept the rez?
Either way the point is moot since this cannot be created. -
That doesn't sound like a fix to me. I don't really have a problem with the radius since I'm not trying to farm using Whirling Hands.
Making it bigger and making it slower recharging and costin more endurance is not the fix I would like...perhaps make it a 100% or 90% chance for mag 2 stun and I'll jump on board. -
Update:
Apparently, this IO is not technically possible at this time. Oh well, here's to hoping for the future!
p.s. When it is possible, Clouded's Defense sounds like a nice purple, defense set IO name. -
Unfortunately, you cannot increase the "chance of" knockdown in Axe. KB IOs will increase the magnitude and start causing knockback instead.
You best bet is to slot heavily for recharge, whether global or per power or both, and rely on spamming attacks. Attacking more gives more chances for KD.
I would also slot a damage proc or two into your fast recharging attacks in Axe to give you a higher change for greater damage due to lethal damage being heavily resisted. -
Then you would just hit "No" on the dialog box. I don't adding a power icon is a good idea.
-
tl;dr
Energy Melee gives the player "good" ST damage, "good" mitigation in the form of stuns, "poor" AoE damage, and a "good" damage type (energy is not highly resisted).
Sorry to burst your EM-Hate Bubble, but it's not a bottom-feeder. -
[ QUOTE ]
My concern about the IO is that resurrection is provided either by inspirations, rise of the phoenix/soul transfer type self-rez or outside help. It looks like once a character without rez inspiration is defeated, the person will need help from other people unless the character has special capabilities. While the rez IO does sound interesting, it's doesn't seem to click with the current design of this part of the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
This IO is like a passive rez inspiration with a low chance for activation that is placed in a Purple IO set (meaning hard to obtain). I don't see how providing an IO that gives a lesser ability then a Tier 3 rez is not within the devs design especially when a player can craft their own insp if they have 3 other like skittles.
Being able to get back in the fight is part of comics and part of this MMO. This IO will give the player another chance to rise from defeat and overcome the odds. I say this is perfectly inline with the design and vision of the game.
