Of course someone will complain it wasn't good enough or could have been better. 'Tis the nature of customers. -
I'm going to be testing this set when I get inot closed beta because I fear it'll be a big disappointment.

Glad to see this hit your awesome button P_P. -

I hope they dish out Conserve Power from the set and replace it with a click heal or click regen buff, call it Re-charge or something.
As for Power Surge, Tier 9s in general (other than shields and willpower) need attention so I would not single that one out.

Whatever tanks get, brutes should get. -
Are you suggesting all the ideas in this thread are stupid?
-
Nice idea, and this has been requested many times over the ages.

You notice he says' 'if you all are nice.' So that means we are [censored]. -

If you're not praising the game, your opinion doesn't count. Or so I've come to realize.

Bull[WARNING EXPLICIT LYRICS].
There is a world of difference between a well-reasoned argument against, or complaint with the game and the type of ranting that is common here, and has been displayed in this thread specifically.
Anyone not understanding that needs to seriously re-examine their understanding of social interactions.
[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, but everywhere else on this board when someone tries to disagree with the game they get told to [censored] off. It's not just pertaining to this thread but the forums in general.
[/ QUOTE ]
NU UH, [censored] OFF.
I'm just kidding, and yes you are being over-the-top about forum posters disagreeing with the majority opinion. -
I would say you're an idiot but that might be against the rules of the forum.
-
Having played both alot, I don't remember chasing down enemies more on my scrappers than on my brutes.
-
I've seen you play your ss/electric, it's good. You've done a great job building a strong brute with IOs.
I have a /ELA Brute too. I threw inf at him and made him very stout with IOs as well but got bored when I could muster even better performance from /SR, /WP and /INV with similar or less inf and less of the IO rares that populated my elecs build.
If you read my posts you noted my statement WERE/ARE based on experience rather then just numbers.
So I say again, my ingame experience with a level 50 /ELA, 50 /SR, 50 /WP, 50 /DA, 35 /INV and 30 /EA all leave me to say, Electric is the lesser secondary of a greater Archetype. -
Nice, I'm not sure why I expected you to be more forthcoming with information rather then resulting in llrn2play.
But thanks for being unhelpful. Perhaps you are just overstating the qualities of ELA. -
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks for helping show info that nothing was changed to /Elec and nothing was changed to the enemies. It's the game as it was then.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except Vanguard. Your SS/Elec might be uber but the Vanguard enemy group is the kryptonite for /electric armor. They were added with RWZ and might MIGHT be one reason for all the hub-bub.
The other reason is IOs. Most sets benefit greatly from IOs, (just basic Set IOs, not purples), but /ELA fell behind in this regard.
So sets like /DA, /INV, /EA that were all weak can now be made into powerhouses while /ELA can only be made a little better.
Sure, ELA is a fine set but it's probably the worst of the secondaries and this comes from my experience with brutes; ela, da, ea, inv, sr and wp. -

i don't see why you'd take that proc with Dark Armour which has Dark Consumption. If you want more recovery, slot up DC. I'd put a damage proc or another IO on mine.
[/ QUOTE ]
DC is not part of Dark Armor, but I think you meant Dark Melee. -
[ QUOTE ]
Why would we want this? So when the power is NOT up, we can do just as poorly as we do now? No thanks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you serious? It's increases your HP which is the same as providing +resis, and it would be very similar to Dull Pain.
I don't know about you but going from 1700 HP to 2200-2500 HP is pretty damn effective. Not to mention people can already perma-DP.
Now, do you have a suggestion or you just here to be a negative nancy? -
I imagine it's coming. Remember this build was on test prior to the STF bug being noticed by the devs IIRC.
-
Ok, this might sound harsh but you can't call yourself casual if you are looking for the most uber of uber IOs.
I have plenty of characters IOed to the gills and not one has a purple set. I just don't exemp/mal enough nor find their bonuses attractive enough for my wants.
Lastly, inf is very easy to come by in this game. Here let me give you a strategy that has worked for me since MA was introduced.
1. Run normal PvE content, arcs most likely, for merits
2. Once salvage is full, head to MA
3. Run some missions or farms, whatever makes you feel happy
4. Roll bronze recipes (I find the 34-39 range to be plenty profitable).
5. Check market and craft the IOs selling for more then their crafting costs
6. Sell crafted IOs.
This process has enabled me to soft cap my /SR brute with ease, create a ranged soft cap build for my defender, etc etc. -
You'll take your free tailor session and like it!
-
Sure. It's not liked I'm tied to the chair or something.

I'm told the Devs have described the Defender as the best balanced AT.

I stopped here, sorry. I might go back and read the rest...but can you provide a link or something that supports your statement? -

For the record I have one level 50 and you can tell by my forum date I played basically when the game came out..
The game was never about work.. considering I work 50+ hours a week and play, ~10. nice try
I just got my first 50 last month so no power gamer here
the issue is there is nothing todo once you're Super Hero(lvl 50).. PVP is a joke... killing hammy.. been there done that... so this leaves running crappy AE farms or starting another toon. while fun, after a few dozen times there is nothing new to do..RP is out of window even on Viture were few of the early Rps aren't around.
Helping lowbies I love doing that but AE's have killed that, lowbies now want to join AE groups @ lvl1
[/ QUOTE ]
Have you acquired the badges/accolades you wanted?
Hunting GMs can be fun.
Exemping down to join friends/SG mates is good for some fun.
Lastly, there are so many different ALTs possible in this game. Try and not limit yourself to one 50. -

As long as it annoys a red-name, I'm happy.
We spend enough time being annoyed by stupid, lazy implementation that it's about time, as far as I'm concerned, to suggest that perhaps a little turn-around is fair play.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure you realize "a little turn-around" would do nothing to improve the situation. It would probably just lead to thread deletions and possibly bans on forum accounts.
So, probably not a good idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
It wasn't actually a serious suggestion... The only way it would work is if it included every single poster who visits the forums and their total compliance with what would amount to a mini-revolt. Never happen. I kinda thought that was relatively self-evident...
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed it was, but I'm trying to get 10k posts while making contributions to threads. In other words, I'm padding my post count with long, semi-constructive, on topic posts. I kinda thought that was relatively self-evident... -
This is my personal opinion, take it as you will.
I think Conserve Power is a waste of a pick per my experience with Em/ELA and having Powersink.
Weave is ok if you have at least 20% defense on your build, otherwise I'd look into dropping it for something better. Perhaps, you could start the medicine pool for Aid Self.
So, on my EM/ELA I took Fighting, Fitness, Leaping and Medicine Pools. I did take Acro because I found myself leaping alot in combat and Grounded does not protect you while not...um...grounded. -
