Quote:If you aren't pleased with Claws on Brutes then you haven't played the set. Who cares about another secondary when you get a primary that is excellent, like claws.Find claws a little lacking since there is no new armor set to go with it.
Quote:With the release of some new games like Champions Online, or the upcoming Diable 3, CoX needs to add more content for us to stay around. Not just trying to pacify us with color changes. I feel this new issue feels more like an add on pack or booster pack.
Think about it. CO offers power customization among other goodies players find attractive but CO an't hold a candle to the vast amount of content CoX has on both sides of the coin (CoH/CoV). Shoot, CO doesn't even HAVE villain content.
So, no, you're wrong. Content should be implemented soon but providing this QoL in this Issue was the right call and the correct way to proceed from my prespective.
Lastly, I'd be very surprised if Issue 17 didn't contain some new story driven content. Like most others, I would really REALLY like to know what's happening with the Coming Storm. -

Quote:Who cares if it's "breaking the game?" Seriously. The AE was being used for farming when the Devs warned and even threatened players NOT to use it for farming.Exactly my point. I have yet to have one of the "anti-farming" group provide me any answer other than "nobody groups with me". Hate to break it to them, but the people that are farming likely wouldn't group with you anyway.
Also, eveything I say is coming from someone that doesn't do a lot of farming. Was never a big fan as I enjoy the story content. But, when the light finally went off that farming through 20 or 30 levels in a short time is a fantastic way to feel out AT's I realized there was a benefit.
So again, I reiterate my challenge. Please provide any evidence of how farming "breaks" the game.
What did you think would happen?
No, answer my question. What did you think would happen to AE when all people did was use it to farm when that's NOT the reason it was created?
Did you seriously think the devs would just allow it? Did you think they would just sit by and watch their new technology and inovation just be farmed to death?
Get some common sense bro. It doesn't have to break the game...it just has to go against the intended purpose of it's creation. -
I ran a little test. Took my brute into the possessed scientist mission in Gville. I didn't count the mobs I defeated but my diff was +2/x8. I fought 6 mobs set for 8 players and I received 5 recipes. All Common IOs.
That seems about right to me. -
Don't forget you have a primary too Sarrate and depending on the set you might find range damage in the secondary to be redundant.
-
I agree. I mean, the Devs even went back and revamped PvP, right?
>_>
<_<
Why are you glaring at me? -
Quote:I doubt your comparisons really evidence the population.Yeah, but I have been /searching entire server (usually CoV side) and I have noticed a decrease in player numbers when comparing to past numbers.
Alot of players are in the tailor. Alot of players are soloing with the new diff. Alot of players are trying out Aion and CO. Alot of players are rolling multiple lowbies. Alot of players use Hide.
But I still don't see the problem you all speak of. I get met with constant blind invites now, which was less frequent before I16. It takes me all of 5-10 mins to find a team if I don't wish to join up with my SG mates for whatever reason.
Everything is just fine, try and relax. -
Quote:They did. They removed AE farms and made it so anyone can farm without fillers outside of AE.Something I noticed, is that I periodically get knocked down while hovering or flying. That's right, I'm in the air and get hit by a knockback/down effect and fall onto an invisible floor several feet above the actual floor...
The AE nerf is too invasive. In the effort to stop the farming, they've crippled the whole system. The baby is out with the bathwater.
That said, while I understand the desire to stop the farming, I also don't see why there's quite so much hate. I mean, I'm not a farmer, but it seems to me that the point of the game is to have fun. If people are having fun farming, what's the harm? Yes, I know some of the harm (fewer groups, braindead L50s asking what an Enhancement is for, etc...).
It just seems to me that the real problem isn't the farming, it's that they prefer farming to the alternative. That is, WHY are people farming? Rather than making farming undesirable, how about making the rest of the game MORE desirable?
Stop trying to blame the devs for curtailing actions they specifically mentioned were NOT to be done inside of AE. The farmers are to blame for these heavy AE nerfs. The devs have stated this isn't the best solution but the only one they could provide for the time being. -

Ya know, I thought about this the other day when I went from my brute to my blaster.
My solution or idea involves creating an IO that provide 4 Magnitude of Mezz protection (all except sleep or something). Of course, it would be Unique.
The other option is a Purple IO Set (either Damage Res or Defense) which gives a 6th bonus of 3-4 points magnitude protection from mezzes (all mezzes). -
Quote:Lower your diff to -1 if you can't handle the mission. Easy fix.AE is dead. I really don't see it coming back to anything near what it was; its over. I saw much discussion of this in Broadcast last night, people could not beg hard enough to get anyone to join an AE team.
In other news, decided to roll an Earth Controller now that I can actually control how the powers look. She was mighty surprised to round a sewer-corner in a level 5 [LEVEL FIVE, MIND YOU] mission and run smack into 5 Vazhilok, one of which was a boss. *faceplant! Mostly due to lack of End*
I felt that was just a tidge much for a level 5; and this sort of thing continues througout the mission - more than usual mobs, not the faceplanting. I should add that she was on level 1. 4-5 mobs for a character under level 10, on Heroic? Ridiculous. -
Quote:I like your analogy but I might be more inclined to take the 18 year old since "loading up" the cougar could be similar to throwing a hot dog down a hallway. My admittedly silly analogy is that coh is now the 40 year old cougar that hit the gym and looks better in tight jeans and a low-cut shirt than its 18 year old college girl competitor, and thats what it needs to be.

I started off with Claws/EA but I decided to re-roll into ClawsInv due to two reasons:
1. I don't like /EA
2. The villain is Iron Puma...INV fits the concept better.
I do have one complaint.
Buff INV! Here I am, level 8, and I can't even solo +2/6.* >8( <--- angry face
The above is sarcasm. Kinda. > -
Quote:Super Side Kicking now makes it harder to get the Mentoring Badges.
Mayhem missions have some destructable objects that are scale to level until it reaches its max level. ie a level 5 in AP Mayhem has level 5 cars and trucks. At level 10+ cars stay at level 10. I like this even though it may be a bug as it is not documented in the Patch Notes.
This has been this way as long as I can remember. The first two mayhem missions I generally aovid destroying most items and just hit the bank/sides. In the later levels, I'll take my time and destroy most everything. I like seeing 45 minutes on my timer. -
It's not so bad really. Two days ago I came up with the following names on Freedom...
1. Electrosaurus - Spine/Electric Scrapper. I chose the Slate spines since they look similar to the scales on the back of a stegosaurus (sp?)
2. Iron Puma - Claws/Inv Brute.
I will admit on Iron Puma I was trying for Iron Tiger but I wasn't surprised it was taken. -
They did this at one point I believe but the restrictions were like level 5 and below and hadn't logged in for <insert number here> days.

For some reason the lower level Mayhem Missions are bugged like that. Once you get pass the KR Mayhem I believe the objects start conning Grey.

The devs nerf Accuracy every Issue, especially Shadow Maul from Dark Melee Set.

Quote:If you believe the devs consider fixing Base Raid, CoP, etc more important than fixing AE, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.If you believe it will be revisited as soon as you think, I have this bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.
Still waiting on the Cathedral of Pain trial, Items of Power, and base raids to come back - base raids are going on a year now and that's the most recent of the things I've listed.
Seriously, Base Raids and CoP? That's the best you got? We already know PvP is tehlol in terms of development resources. -
I was able to make a few new lowbies: Electrosaurus, Iron Puma and another version of Clouded.
I would have had a real good time if I was able to zone into a mission without crashing.
So, I just did some street sweeping on each character until level 5 and then headed them to their radio/paper contact. Hopefully, this mission zoning bug will be fixed soon. -
I was doing this mission on my Fire/SR and it's a blast. Those Burn Protectors are some of the coolest enemies in the game. Their appearance changes as they take damage.

Quote:I know you looking for some hard numbers and I don't blame you. I too didn't mean to be confrontational but did come of has being a bit short. Please note, I wasn't being confrontational w/my previous post (or hopefully this one) and genuinely wanted some hard data, if you had any. I'll of course get my own now that I16's going live and post about them later. Hopefully, you and others will find them useful. And yeah, I play the game and have fun w/o any numbers too, but I also find crunching numbers fun it its own right, not to mention illuminating. You'd be surprised how inaccurate "personal experiences" can be.
Either way you need to roll one and tell me what you think of BU + Lightning Rod + TS. -
