Roll up a ELM brute and then come back please. Stating Tanker ELM is weak is just stating the obvious, IMO.

Quote:I have a fire/fire blaster, level 50 and have played him throughout every bit of content in this game...even mothership raids. Flares and Fire blast are not "lightweight attacks" and it's your fault if you didn't slot them properly or take them from the get go.so you are allowed to put words in other peoples mouths but not us..I see.
as far as the blaster, my fire fire come up on a chief mentalist and 2 minions. I put ring of fire on chief. he laughs at pitiful damage and mezzes me. i have 2 light weight attacks while the other 2 render me down to mulch. wow. How does ring of fire prevent him from mezzing again?
EDIT: Why are you putting RoF on a Mezzer? AIM + Blaze + FireSword, etc his a$$ before he see's you. This isn't rocket science.
Like many people, including myself, have said throughout this thread...every AT has the ability to deal with mezz but it's up to the PLAYER to make it work correctly. Yes, lrn2ply. -
Right, because only certain players have access to melee ATs. I'll remind you, you're the same person that asked how a Blaster without a hard control deals with mezz. Which was hilarious.

Here is my speculation. I think the developers were a little worried at first upon hearing all the features being implemented in CO, but I bet as soon as they played the game it dawned on them, CoX was not in any danger.
Honestly, I bet the Devs are a bit pleased with having CO on the market. It gives them another source of finding new features, player likes/dislikes, etc. -
I will be using my super sekrit credit card so I don't have to explain another charge on our debit card to my lady. >_>

Claws is a lot of fun and so far I like it better than SS.
Claws gets a bada$$ AoE (Spin) at level 8, opposed to Footstomp at 32.
Claws gets a ranged attack (Focus) at 18 vs Hurl at 26.
ST damage is great, just ask Billz. I'm currently 23 so I haven't played around with the other 2 cones Claws offers but I'm sure the AoE capability will match SS's.
The only thing "lacking" and I use that word lightly, in Claws is a big hitter like KO Blow. However, I do believe a Claws Brute will be able to use Strike + Slash TWICE before KO Blow has finished recharging from it's first attack. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
For secondary, I chose INV because I didn't really want to worry about active mitigation and I've played WP to death. For me it boiled down to laziness and concept. -
Telling someone how to play, manage their powers, inspirations and intelligence is the correct response in this instance. Most players that are advocating mezz protection in the form of MAg are either lazy or spent too much time in boss farms in AE.
Ya, I went there and I'm sure there will be negative rep for stating my honest opinion. -
Thanks for everyone that came out. It took us a whole 17 mins to complete this trail.

Quote:Heh. That would be a way to ramp up the desire for Set IOs no one wants. Add +4 Mag protection to either stun or hold. Make sure its in the least wanted ranged attack or hold.
I noticed you haven't tried to "refute" any posts that were in direct response to your previous claims. -
There's too much happiness in that post of yours. I hope you come back with something more cynical later otherwise we will have to tie you down and change your forum name to Not-so-Angry Citizen.
WB by the way! -

I would like citizens to stop getting in the way of my button smashing in the banks. >8(

Someone should make a fire/fire or rad/fire blaster named Down Again.

I think a part of the discrepency lies within the ATs themselves. CoV ATs tend to be more self-sufficient and able to solo without much trouble compared to their do-gooder counterparts. So, alot of people on CoV tend to solo which makes it seem like there are less people.
With that said, there are more heroes than villains from my experience in the past 3+ years. You'd have to survey players to find out why. I tend to play CoV more because of the ATs offered, Brutes most notably. -
What power are you thinking about slotting this in?
-
Reminder, this is tonight. I'll be in Nerva around 8:30ish to start recruiting. I'll save spots for those who have posted here.
Oh, and if anyone can stealth/TP for the last mission (and the 2nd I think)...that would be fantastic. -
I'm going to try and get some recipes/IOs on the market before the weekend since players tend to enjoy spending large amounts of inf during these weekends.
I'm an early riser so I'll probably crank out some levels, etc in the wee hours of Sat/Sun, the rest I will play by ear. I'll probably run a TF or SF or 2 depending on my schedule but with football on all weekend I'm not sure DXP is enough to lure me away. -
I really think the Devs/marketing/whomever should release some new info on GR or Issue 17, something. There seems to be so much negative press and DOOOOM about CoX lately on these forums, etc.
I know Comic Con is going to produce more info, but that's still 2-3 weeks away and I'm uber impatient. -
Silly Scrappers. Roll a few Brutes. I can take on +3/x8 without dying (+4/x8 can result in a few hosp trips depending on the enemy) with my Fire/SR and SS/WP.

Quote:Ah yes, now we've struck gold. This would revitalize teaming and help make COX a more interactive place instead of being split between those that can handle +4 x8 spawns and the gimps.
So your new arguement is that restructuring mezz mechanics will bring about a golden age of teaming and social interaction in CoX? -
Have you tried Claws? It has wonderful ST damage and a bada$$ AoE in Spin. Roll up a claws and SS brute and ride out with the one you enjoy the most.
-
My SS/WP Brute is great for any ingame task, as is my Fire/SR Brute. So far my Claws/Inv brute fits that same roll.
-
It lacks AoE damage but it's a very strong Single Target set, DPS wise.
