He's saying the cast times are nearly the same as other sets but since he animation involves many movements, a player's perception might be skewed to think the cast times are longer.
I have no idea if the cast times are longer or shorter compared to like Primary/Secondary. -
-
Possibly, but since it's related to Tai Chi one could argue that the damage type be combined with Energy Damage.
-
Is anyone really surprised by these numbers? I personally have had to make monetary sacrifices in my household to account for the loss of business in my field.
Either way, I don't really care. I'll play this game until the servers shut down. -
This thread is awesome.

This is a bit short sighted of you.
I know 7 people in my SG that would face a 50/50 chance of getting DCed when accessing the market, myself included (when on my laptop). This simple change makes a world of difference and allows me to continue playing rather than having to wait for the game to crash, decide if I need to re-verify, and then start the slow process of re-logging in or just giving up for the night.
So while YOU might not find the change all that great, I can vouch for a handful of people in my little circle that think the opposite.
With that said, the new UI needs some TLC to revise some functions. -
I love the look of Kinetic Melee. There are soooo many sets that involve smashes or punches and most share the same boring animations. I welcome something new and different. However, my main concern will be testing from Brutes and how Fury is affected by the cast times. I don't think it will an issue, but that's what beta is for.

Two thoughts:
1. The title needs more ?
2. Dark/* can provide acceptable aggro control with Fearsome Stare, Tar Patch, Dark Servant, Darkest Night and Blackhole (lolblackhole). -
Quote:What current trends? Oh, you mean DP?That sounds like a great idea.
But judging by current trends the set will look great but have mediocre to poor overall performance. People will play it when it first comes out, then it will disappear. I hope I'm completely wrong, because I'm a melee addict and dying for a new powerset, lol.
Because Willpower, Shields and Demon Summoning all kick pretty hard ***, lol. -
Quote:You did notice the post where he notes the correct values for SC and how they are lower than the current Live versions, jes?No doubt. I've been reading the thread(from post 1), and I agree dev digest probably brought extra people(some unwanted). But my comment was directed at people on both sides of the "debate."
I just don't think Castle's comments in this thread are that big of a deal.
EDIT: typo, changed we to he. -
Wow. Some of you regular forumites need to back off the snark. We WANT people to come back and play this game. Sheesh.

Every time I used SC it reminded me of the old Energy Transfer...too good to last.

I think Impervium Armor has some Psi Def bonuses and there is a Aegis +Psi unique as well. I choose to focus on recharge to make Hoarfrost my protection against Psi and some Fire attacks. I didn't slot any purples and I'm able to achieve perma Hoarfrost when Hasten is active. So, if I know there is a big bad Psi AV in a mission I try to save Hasten and Hoarfrost for that battle, and that paired with teammates buffs/debuffs tends to mitigate most of the psi damage.

Quote:It was nerfed because it was broken in PvE.The new ET animation is ugly, you aren't imagining it. Also, ET was nerfed because they gave it to high damage characters like stalkers who were practically insta-gibbing people with it in PvP zones.
If anything, the animation change to ET only HELPED it in the new PvP. If it still had a 1 sec animation the power would provide laughable burst damage. -

Shields is cool and all but I find SR to be the bees knees in terms of straight up survivability. I should note that my experience with SR is from a Brute perspective while my SD experience is with Scrappers.

Dang, that's really cool. Wish I could go back in time and tell myself to buy CoH 24 months sooner. :/

Quote:I guess that is where we differ. It may be my issue as I don't see where this game is particularly balanced against anything, with the possible exception of the overall time it takes the population, or segments of the population to do things.
I can't agree about SS being a hate it set before rage and footstomp. Its really no worse than blast sets before aim and buildup.
I don't agree or disagree with you, but I will point out that AIM and BU come much earlier to Blasters than Rage and Footstomp come to Tankers and Brutes. -
Hello, my name is Clouded and I'm a Respec-a-holic. I tend to respec characters based off proposed builds and I do so frequently. I understand the 10 enchancement rule in game but it's not something I agree with entirely. I've learned to work around the rule by using 2-3 respecs to get out all the echancements I require.
My most recent example is my FM/SD Scrapper. I chose to respec him from the Body Mastery Pool to the Flame Mastery Pool. This required me to move around ~15 slots in the entire build since Conserve Power and Physical Perfection were both slotted minimally but Fire Blast and Fireball are both six slotted. I made a couple other changes due to the BotZ changes as well.
So in this instance, I had to use 2 respecs to avoid losing out on some expensive IOs. Was it greed? I guess. I just didn't want to use another 400+ merits or spend another couple hundred inf for the IOs I already purcahsed/created once before. -
Since we are talking Shields...don't forget to slot AAO with 3 Def/Rech S/HOs (I forget the name). The Def portion of the enchancement will also increase your DDR, and you slot 3 to get the DDR to double stack.
