There you go using whine as an insult to people who find something they want improved. Maybe one day you will be able to tell the difference.
-
Quote:One less thing for you to *shrug* about. Awesome.I was just on a thread a few days ago talking about, among other things, the lack of a level 30ish SF for the redside. I guess that'll be one less thing redsiders will have to whine about... whoops did I say that out loud?
Never fear, I'm sure despite this "slip-up" the Devs still hate villains just as much as ever. -
Does the +Heal in Spiritual Core affect the +HP aspect of Dull Pain?
In Mids, it shows an increase in +HP percentage when selecting the Spiritual Alpha but I know Mids and the actual game mechanics have differed before. -
To each their own. My Ice/Axe tank has Hoarfrost recharging in ~110s with Hasten and it was enough to withstand Mother Mayhem at +3, IIRC. There are other bells and whistles, but this is how I cover the Psi hole while maintaining high levels of defense with EA.
-
I think Costner is dead on for the role of Pa Kent. Pretty much anyone could play this role well, but Costner is a big name that might draw more attention and he is great in the simple type roles.

Get Hoarfrost to recharge as quickly as possible.

Quote:I don't care if you sympathize or not. But being rude or insulting to players of differing opinions is above you I would think. Stating that CoV needs more SFs is not being 'upset.' Telling players to just play CoH if they want more SFs is a terrible 'solution.'And I'm supposed to sympathize with people who are still "upset" with something that's been the status quo for six years and can be easily "solved" if you simply didn't let it bother you so much? Please...
Quote:Talk about being myopic. Get over this useless angst you have over "equal numbers". Anyone who's given it an ounce of thought realizes that most of the redside-only SFs are generally more fun and better designed than the older blueside ones. The fact that the redside has FEWER of them is more than counterbalanced by the fact that they are much BETTER than the older blue ones.
The development staff and this game pride themselves as one of the few communities where the playerbase's ideas and suggestions are actually listened to and sometimes implemented. There is even a FORUM FOR SUGGESTIONS.
Stating something as been someway for some time period, no longer is a legitimate stance for an argument in this game. So many things have changed after YEARS of being a certain way.
Requesting more SFs for CoV is no different.
Yes, we ought to know better than suggest ways to improve the playability of a game we enjoy playing. What morons. -
Quote:I'm not really concerned about your personal preferences. They have no bearing on your inability to accept other players might not share you same acceptance of the lack of SFs.The fact that CoV has fewer SFs than blueside's TFs has never bothered me because I've played BOTH sides pretty close to 50/50 ever since CoV was released. The idea that it might still be "annoying" to other people is simply a facet of this game's experience that I have zero sympathy for. *shrugs*
My "maturity" in this matter comes from the fact that I don't let trivial differences like this bother me like they might have used to when I was younger.
As always YMMV...
Being able to play both sides is irrelevant when not everyone has your same playstyle, and assuming such is myopic.
Lastly, you seem to *shrug* a lot in your posts. You might want to get that nervous tic checked out. -
Quote:It's absolutely annoying for villains to have less TFs/SFs. Insulting people because you don't care anymore or wish to disregard their concern isn't welcomed either.I bet there will be people out there who'll never get tired of whining that the blueside has more TFs than the redside has SFs. I've been playing CoH for seven years (and CoV for six years) and that pathetic mantra just -never- gets old...
I'm surprised I haven't seen people whining that the blueside has more TFs than Praetoria yet. *rolls eyes*
Rolling your eyes is also a clear sign of maturity. -
Yep, just like defenders, corruptors et al. I still don't agree controllers are the most versatile 'default' AT.
-
Defenders primaries can have -regen and -resist. I don't understand how this is relevant to my post. I was countering the posters statement about controllers being the default most versatile toons.
-
Quote:Ah, that I did not know.Except even on the hypothetical team, there is no .25 second delay for the untouchable portion of the tanker/scrapper/brute power. Which is why I have never noticed it on my scrapper.
I guess it's the other incarnations of the power that need a review. -
I don't agree that controllers in general win by default. Damage is very important and is the ultimate debuff.
-
Quote:Yes, even solo.In combat vrs a spawn set at +4/8 solo with bosses? On a team, one would quite possibly have someone else to take aggro for a few seconds, or Kill that boss... or lock them down. Solo? .25 seconds can be a long time.
On your hypothetical team, the player using RoP could be the tank and now all that aggro is lose on the team. The tank tries to rez but dies immediately from the .25s flaw in the untouchable portion of the power. -
A combat self rez is suppose to be used in combat. Your character should be untouchable and able to rez whether the mezz works or not. Same goes for Soul Transfer.
-
My Dark/Sonic defender is my most versatile character.
Taking your list from the OP, I have amended it to fit my defender.
Stealth (shadow fall)
Ally stealth (shadow fall)
Ally Rez
AoE Terrorize (Fearsome Stare)
Hold
AoE Stun
Single Target Stun
PBAoE Stun (QP from Dark Mastery)
Self Rez (Soul Transfer from Dark Mastery)
Resistance debuff (through tar patch and attacks)
Damage debuff
Tohit debuff
Regen debuff
Movement debuff
Ally tohit buff (tactics)
Ally defense buff (maneuvers)
Ally damage buff (assault)
Ally +defense, +tohit (vengence)
Self heal
Ally Heal
AoE intangibility
Ally resistance buff
Ally defense buff
Self Resistance Buff (shadow fall)
Self Defense Buff (shadow fall)
Pet -provides additional heal, regen debuff, hold, damage debuff and tohit debuffs (aura and darkest night)
And to toot my own horn a little more, this character has 44% defense to ranged damage.
EDIT: I forgot to add the following:
Single Target Knockback
AoE Sleep -
Quote:The stun being diminished? Fine.
It isn't useless. Pretty sure the devs don't care if you can't handle a +4/8 spawn solo without dying repeatedly, and damn sure they are fine with your powers being a little less effective.
The KB being less effective? Understandable.
The untouchable portion not working and getting killed when using the rez? Seems broken. -
I'm confused. I thought you disliked running TFs. Why would it bother you if you don't even run them?
-
I tend to use it many many times. Why? Because it's pretty.

Quote:I bet my farmer is bigger than your farmer.Well there's a difference between someone who finds a cool AE mission and uses their fire/shield to kill stuff, and the actual community of farmers who race, compare stats and builds. Also, you aren't really a farmer unless you have several farmers (some of us had over 10, although i stripped a lot for purples), alt accounts and emps to buff yourself. Some people take it more seriously then others, and is the only reason they still play.
Unfortunately all the best farmers i've come to know have quit, which is really too bad, they had some unbeatable times on those farm missions. But yea, if you're doing it inefficiently, you aren't really a farmer. You're more of a PvEr who wants to farm a bit.
Correct farming is an art you can't just stumble across. I thought i was farming 2 years ago with a fire/ss tank, and now tanks can't even preform -real- farming because the lack of damage.
Unless you guys want to just talk about the farming anyone can do, you know, SS/fire brutes with SOs "farming". Then i can't really add anything, and i misunderstood.
Am I doing it right? -

Quote:I believe most posters are going by what the devs have stated publicly. 'Investigating' implies there is currently no solo method available. It implies they are researching what the costs et al would be for instituting such a path. All I've been saying is that people should be a little more patient about solo Incarnate content and not jump to the immediate conclusion that "Don't have it now = never will have it"
I'm about 90% certain there will be a solo path EVENTUALLY, but that is not reassuring. We EVENTUALLY had power customization too. We EVENTUALLY had merged markets. Etc.
Just to restate here, I'm not really hampered all that much by the non-solo options any longer but I don't agree with the required teaming. Just my opinion. -
Quote:Your ability to miss the point is remarkable.I cannot advance my character by solo means in getting the Epaulets costume item unlocked as planned.
I cannot advance my character by solo means in getting the Transcendent badge as planned.
I cannot advance my character by non-PvP means in getting Shivans or nukes as planned.
I cannot advance my character by non-crafting means in maxing out my salvage slots.
...
Quote:It's just another reward, it's just another "play style" people are complaining about, ho hum.
Quote:You have yet to tell me how this "advancement" is so special that you expect the devs to drop what they're doing and cater to your weird "play style" when almost everyone else is enjoying the hell out of the game as it is. Please keep that in mind when you post yet again how important this is and failing.
1. I am not hurt by the required teaming. I made a post earlier stating I lead my own STF this weekend. However, I'm also able to see outside my own agenda.
2. I refuse to explain how the Incarnate Systems is special or how it's advancement is special. This is so effing obvious it's amazing you are even that obtuse. You are a borderline troll.
Quote:You're free to give as much non-productive feedback as the moderators will allow. I'm just trying to explain to you why it's so hard to take that feedback seriously, and why this perceived injustice is your problem, not the community's, and certainly not the devs'. Once you realize that, then maybe future feedback will get more favorable results.
Quote:I don't see anyone here saying that we're against adding more options, just that it's not worth all the rage, ultimatums, and anguish that is being expressed in this thread. If they get around to it, great. If not, oh well, it works fine like it is.
Most of the rage and anguish shown in this thread/topic does not come from proponents of more options...quite the opposite really. The majority of childish behavior originates from posters who are myopic and refuse to look outside their own little world or basement...whatever.
