Please don't twist my words. I'm not happy that global channels are not included in the Premium account. That doesn't mean I'm unhappy about Freedom. It means that I want to express my feedback.

I really like that I will be able to play this game for free but I also dislike the fact that I will not be able to use Global Channels. Global Channels are NOT worth $15/month to me.

I agree with you but I don't agree Global Channels need to be tied to VIPs. It's ok if we disagree ya know.

They confirmed in the uSteam chat that global chat, while not included by default for premium players, can be earned in the Paragon Rewards system. Since you've been subscribing for ??? years, you'll earn ??? Rewards, likely including global chat. You'll be fine.

They said the same thing about Masterminds and Controllers, as well... that veterans of the subscription game will likely be getting these for free anyway thanks to their ongoing support translating into Paragon Rewards.

    We cool now?
Until I know the costs of global channel unlocks and all the unlocks and can provide my feedback on those items, then I will not be at peace.

And not have lots of other stuff other stuff I didn't list.
I'm very aware of the current subscription model. This is all irrelevant when it won't exist any longer.

CoH-Freedom is a huge boon to those who have tight budgets and occasionally have to let their subs lapse.
Not sure if you know this, but I'm providing feeback on this new feature that is still being tested. Feedback is good.

I'm not so blinded that I don't appreciate all the goodies I will be able to have but I'm also not some CoH Dev-back-patter that doesn't believe in providing negative, constructive feedback.

So, my feedback is that as a previous VIP customer I would like to retain my ability to chat and view my global channels as I do now (or when VIP is rolled out). Whether my feedback is implemented is another story altogether.

Thanks and that's a bit disheartening that I will lose my ability to chat and utilize global channels.
  6. Quick question...

As a premium player, will I be able to send tells and use the global channels I use now?

I have personally on at least two accasions pointed out to you directly in discussion threads that there still was stuff other than incarnates being developed. There was in Issue 19 (arcs, missions), there was in Issue 20 (mid level TFs), there was plenty of info floating around that there would be in the future.

And this is exactly the point people here are making.

There was plenty of information, you just chose not to see it.
    Do you feel better now?
  8. When is this expected to hit the air waves?

Oh, and what's wrong with the animation? I thought it looked very appropriate.
  9. Its very exciting to see this new resurgence of City of Heroes and I really hope it works out for everyone; customers and developers alike. Additionally, I hope my life doesn't get so busy that I will nto be able to at least play this game as a premium account come October.

Thanks for the letter and the continued improvements to this game. All in all, a good job so far in 2011.

Heh, llike that $15 a month doesn't 'pay' for the content update.

Actually, no I have not played other MMOs. However, other games being more complicated does not make this game less complicated.

    My point still stands.
  13. Holy moley. I feel sorry for any newbies to this game. It's grown quite complex and even moreso looking at these new features.

    First Ward

It looks like a less overgrown Hive to me at first glance. Could be interesting.

For what its worth, when there was talk about a new zone in I21 I did state is was going to be another cityscape. Right now, I'm about 70% right based on the screenshots.
  15. I've noticed more failures on the trials lately. Actually, I should say the BAF. The prisoner phase use to be a no brainer but it seems people are failing it more and more lately.
  16. I seem to be the only one that agrees with Rocketeer being on the list. However, I'm not so sure about Blade II beating out some of the other super hero flicks.

That's only remotely relevant if you are saying that because Schindler's List is about real people, Shagster's question is not appropriate. Otherwise its a non-sequitor deflection.

To reiterate Shagster's question, do you find it unrealistic that the camp prisoners in Schindler's List don't attack their tormentors. I'm asking specifically because Schindler's List is in fact about real people, so I'm directly asking whether your compass for judging realistic behavior actually works correctly in judging whether reality is sufficiently realistic. I believe that is as unambiguous as the question can get.
    Hey!

It's way to early for that type of talk! Seriously, I may have broken my tongue reading this post.

    New Computer

First off, always request the part numbers so you can price for yourself using third party websites like Newegg.com. You would be surprised at how many techs buy the parts from newegg which you have full access to as well. Sure, some techs may use other vendors but newegg is very competitive when ordering parts for a system build.

Secondly, does the price they quoted you include the labor to build the system, install the OS and transfer your old data to the new computer?
  19. For my tanker, I decided to go with Reactive to get a bit more damage out of him. I solo a lot lately and it helps. However, with my fire/SD scrapper I went Diamagnetic for the -tohit debuff and -regen (so many AoEs!) to help his survivability since he's just barely above the softcap.

I ran a Lambda last night and our team was in charge of weapon crates. I cringed because I was using my POS laptop which lags all the time in the warehouse map in the Lambda.

However, the lag last night was very minimal. Nothing out of the ordinary for me when running just a normal 8 man team.

So, I still experience the time dilation (a lot)in the BAF still but no additional lag from the warehouse (like I use to). Who knows.

When was the patch because I experienced the time dilation lag on two BAFs last night.

  24. Off topic but when I first saw the thread title I said to myself, "It's memorial day monday, not labor day."
  25. Anyone thought about Null the Gull being an anagram?

Well don't because the results are terrible.

    Examples:

    Leg Hunt Lull
    Lent Ugh Lull
    The Lung Lull
