Quote:You are splitting hairs but maybe I shouldn't have said 'weak.' I should have said, rikti typically resist s/l, energy and psi damage MORE THAN NEGATIVE ENERGY, FIRE OR COLD.To say that Rikti, in general, are weak to dark, fire or whatever is simply not true.
Quote:The Rikti Drones are particularly weak to negative, but I don't think anyone makes a Rikti farmer for drones. Some of the higher rank Rikti have resists to s/l/e, psi too for Mentalists.
Quote:Electric Armor is Rikti farmer friendly right out of the box. Build up some defense and perhaps take Tough and those hard-hitting sword attacks become far less of an issue too.
Looks like we agree, but you did add in the Patron Pool (which I agree with Soul). -
Rikti are weak to negative energy, fire and cold. They throw out a lot of S/L, Energy and Psi damage.
I would say Fire/Elec would be a good Rikti farming brute. -
I think we need a new forum just for farming.

Quote:I'm not sure I follow your loose associations here. Care to clarify what I have to do with dev bashing and whatever Praetorian Invasion you are referring to. I'm not sure I was even subscribed then.Sorry, my 'Freedumb' filter went off. But I suppose RP is pretty OP. Could use a nerf, too, seeing as how the RP community has made a lot more happen to this game than 'Freedumbs' constant Dev bashing during the Praetorian Invasion could have possibly hoped to have.
Quote:If you don't think Fire Blast and Archery are sole reasons why certain AT number tweaks aren't going through, you clearly aren't as 'hardcore' as you hoped to be. Especially if some 'RPer' knows how overpowered the two sets are in comparison to the other Blaster sets.
I do have a 50 fire/fire blaster that I've had for many years now. Of course, fire blast is going to be nutzo in damage since there is really no mitigation in the set. I also have energy/energy, Rad/MM and electric/electric blasters which are far more survivable that the fire blaster but their damage output is not the same.
I would love for you to go into more depth of the overpoweredness of both Fire and Archery rather than just throw out some nerf herding.
Quote:And, yes. I do have an IO'd Archery and an IO'd Fire Blast. If your AT is based around DAMAGE AND MORE DAMAGE, then you should take the DAMAGE AND MORE DAMAGE sets. Anything less is... RPing!
Quote:PS: Thanks for reminding me, by the way. That link in the signature is outdated. Just like your RP bashing!
If you really feel like Fire Blast and Archery are overpowered then you should provide some data to support your claims. But I suppose just spouting off at the mouth is easier.
PS: I think RP is a great way for people to use their imagination. The SG I belong to started off with a lot of RP. However, around I9-I10 RP lost it's way and was seemingly phased out of the SG as more members moved towards Gear/Loot and others quit the game.
EDIT: gud spelyr -
Quote:You could just RP more damage. The Blaster design is damage, damage, and moar damage. If this is the case, why do they not pull ahead of the hybrid damage dealers? Or, rather, why do they not pull ahead /more/?
Blasters need more ratio adjustments. As do Stalkers (offense only). Only then will I say "Blasters are Fine".
Oh, and feel free to nerf Archery and Fire Blast to do this. Those two sets are likely the sole reason why further Blaster buffs are being hesitated on.
Please, nerf them as much as needed.
Oh and nerf herding is so 2009. -
I'd start by building up your immune system now by taking a herbal supplement of Echinacea. When the Con arrives, take a double dose each day to further boost your system against radicals. I take Echinacea regularly for years and find it very helpful.
I'd also try exercising a bit. Hey, why are you laughing? Exercise is a great way to get you in a good mood and feeling right. Thanks to those awesome endorphins. Just don't over do it.
Of course, you should take the advice of fluid and vitamin C. Emergen-C makes a nice vitamin C pack that dissolves in juice or water that injects a ton of C.
Lastly, Advil and Gatorade. I use these to help with the 'next day' after a long night of whatever. Advil is good to reduce inflamation of any sort and gatorade with throw in some much needed electrolytes, carbs and sugars to get you going.
Have fun!!! -
Why is everyone so goo-goo for Felicia Day?
-
Sorry if this comes across as rude, but I'm not a fan of the artwork. Of course, there's States' face but the rest of him looks off too. Like he stopped working out for a few months and then tried to get back in his old tights.
-
I'll be going premium which is the same as not playing to me. This will probably happen sometime in the fall or next month.
Life is just so busy right now and we are expecting a bundle of clouded by the end of the year. I'd rather the $15 a month go to something more worthwhile...like diapers. -
-
That's nifty. Could be interesting and might hold my attention another month or so.
-
Gah! A whole year wait.
I'll be in my cryogenic chamber. -
Statesman pose is bad. It looks like he ate too much rice or cheese and is having trouble...um...going.

Star Wars the Old Republic is 'suppose' to launch in the last half of 2011. Whether that's November or not will is unknown.

Quote:Good post!In a situation where the survivibility threashold has been reached, Damage > all. It isn't a given that a debuffer will provide more damage than a damage dealer, so adding a def/corr/cont isn't a given. In team makup situations where survivibility threashold is reached and the damage dealer is > the force multiplier, the blaster is -THE- best choice. My proof was that a Force multiplier isn't always the best choice, and it can be beat by pure damage. (BTW this -was- addressed in my other post)
However when the ability to survive the challenge hasn't been met, that's the priority. Remembering that you need less survivibility when you have more damage. It's in these team combinations that Brutes/scrappers are a better choice, because they bring lesser ammounts of damage, but the survivibilty to deliver that damage. Combine that with enough supplementary damage, and their lesser mitigation becomes just enough to defeat a given challenge, with less concern toward gaining more survivibilty.
Adding a Tanker is usually enough to hit the survivibility threashold. Again, once the ability to survive incoming damage is reached, the priority is maximizing outgoing damage.
This is a delicate balance of numbers, that you've shown a complete inability to understand. However, the point is that blasters are not replacable by other ATs and, as expected from a game, some choices are better than others a certain times. The great thing about this game is, that better doesn't mean absolutly neccesary. -
Quote:I know it was her job to 'disarm' the curse but why even let it get that far? She was standing right there and could have easily prevented the attempted murders.Because it was Myka's job to use her leet Shakespeare skills to "disarm" any curses that go off. And as you pointed out, Pete and Jinx were otherwise engaged to chase him.
Also Pete realized that they would likely be detained when they showed up so he was a diversion so Myka wouldn't be noticed by Agent Blondie Belle and the Meatheads.
Pete and Jinx were engaged but not until after the assassin started passing out the folio pages. I know this is lame to nit pick, but I swear if Pete made a mad run at the assassin then he would have tackled him long before the 'FBI' started stripping him.
By the way, I love that line he says after his shirt is nearly ripped off. Classic.
I like WH 13, it's a fun show. In fact, I prefer it over Eureka lately. Not sure why, it just seems less drama-y and more fun-y. -
Quote:Or do something with your hands, like elbow the person or something.Ya know, I realized that the badguy in W13 was about one of the stupidest people to have ever lived. You're getting strangulated with a plastic bag? Wouldn't you, ya know, poke a hole in the plastic over the mouth? I mean come on. Granted, you'd probably get shot or something later, but still.
Here was my only issue with the WH13 episode:
Remember when the CEOs were sitting around, then the assassin comes in and delivers the folio's pages? Remember when Pete & Myka waited for the CEOs to START DYING before acting (granted Pete and Jinx were detained shortly therafter but Pete had plenty of time to react)?
Why didn't Myka just tackle the assassin and take the folio pages? Why didn't ANYONE chase the assassin after he handed out the folio pages?

Quote:I have a Fire/SR Brute that sits at 55% Melee Def, 53% for AoE and Ranged Def. I've used him to tank the trials but he will still die from time to time when the RNG hates me. I usually hit the dirt against the AVs.I must be missing something. If I can take alpha strikes on my /SR scrapper, I guess I'm just completely missing how they're going to be a problem on an SR tank when he's sitting at the softcap at level 22 with tank HP and being missed by 90-95% of the incoming attacks.
However, even running at +2/x8 against IDF in Tip missions can cause face plants if I don't throw in some inspirations from time to time.
I have noticed that most of my deaths occur when I have 50%+ health. I rarely die if my scaling resists get a chance to help. -
Rawr, pile on Castle now that he's not here!

If we are adding Gundam, then I suggest we add Voltron as well.
-
Again, he's only giving you helpful advice since you posted this info on the net. Ignore it if you like, but you are spending way too much time defending it.
Let's move on. -
Sweet.
It looks like Devs still hate villains though.
