I don't consider the vet rewards to be a carrot, the majority of them are too meh to be a good enticement, but it is nice to be getting something for sticking around, but the rewards themselves are not why people stick around. I like the game and have been playing since it launched and will likely still be playing it for an unforseen amount of time even if the rewards never existed.
As for people wanting to buy the reward items, I have to disagree with selling them. You want the cyborg stuff then buy the pack, you want the valk stuff then buy the pack, you want the wedding stuff then buy the pack, you want the vet stuff then just play the game and it'll come to you in time like it does for everybody else. -

The Mad Butcher is a villain. I think either the PPD or Longbow would make good lambs for the slaughter.

I ave a few suggestions that might freshen things up a bit since the same old stuff is getting stale.
Freeze all the waterways like you did in the first winter event. It was a blast to skate around lakes and have snowball fights or race up and down the river in Gemini Park. It would also let people enjoy skating that have no interest in the badges or dealing with an overcrowded and laggy zone.
Add candy canes to the drop tables for the winter event mobs. The game has been around long enough that a lot of people have a lot of characters they'd like to get the goodies for. As is the event is more of a grindfest than the fun event it's meant to be.
We have the BNY coop mission, which is fine though a bit worn out. I would like 2 new non-coop missions.
For the villains. Raid Santa's workshop, kidnap the elves, and steal candy canes. The Tuatha can have thier noses colored red and be used as reindeer troopers to act as guards. White Warwolves could serve as Yeti, and of course, snowmen that battle for the side a good could all be part of the npcs the villains would have to contend with.
For the heroes. Rescue Santa's elves and be rewarded with candy canes. Whatever villain group has kidnapped them would depend on the level of the mission holder. But they would also have Redcaps acting as grunts, and the evil snowmen as well. -

Getting rid of the raid pathing. It's really opened up the floodgates of creativity among the base building community.
Powerset Proliferation. Not as good as all new sets would be, but the next best thing.
More costume sets and pieces. More choices is always better.
Now, while I understand everybody enjoys a good pat on the back for a job well done, it's criticism that points out where things need improving. So I will flip the coin and also list what I consider the worst features.
Microtransactions becoming more frequent. While new costumes are great being expected to pay extra for them is taking corporate greed over the edge.
VEATs. As if the regular villains aren't made to feel enough like flunkies already, the reward for attaining a level 50 is the privilage of creating a character that actually is an Arachnos lacky. -

The Mad Butcher.
I created him as an homage to unstoppable horror movie maniacs like Jason and Michael Meyers. But he isn't just a mindless killing machine. In reality he is a highly educated and successful businessman. He owns and opperates an upscale chain of butcher shops in the Isles. He has won several awards for his Bratwurst and specialty lunch meats. For you more shady types he can make that incriminating evidence disappear, for a fee of course.

gumble I've gone from ZERO rent to owing 1600 prestige. so <BEEP> it. I'm leaving the game as soon as they turn off the power.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, because doing a middlin-long Oro arc is so terribly difficult.
[/ QUOTE ]
what a [censored] whiner. Our completely tricked out base that supports a lot of people, rent just came doing for a measly ~2500 instead of 40k+...so he must have a lot of storage items or something.
The devs even fixed it so that you now earn prestige AND influence in SG mode, so the old arguement doesn't stick.
If you don't see the value of the base items enough to do a TF a month to pay for em, you shouldn't have em to begin with. I am playing a new alt on a new ST on a new server with no Telepads or storage and I'd give my left arm AND do two Posi's, nekkid in the snow, to have base items.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Enjoy WoW.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe he'd like rent to revert all the way back to like how it was in i7, based on total prestige? That way he could pay 50k rent for that little 6x6 base of his...
From the SG base beginnings, my SG went from 375k rent, to 145k rent, and now to 3k rent.... If I could, I'd kiss Posi's shiny round forhead!
[/ QUOTE ]
Or maybe he is just being sarcastic toward the people that are actually upset about the rent. -
Would be somewhat less than intelligent to be launching spacecraft from inside a major city. Which means it is a spaceport, this is Paragon City, after all.

You only have to enter the base to get the refund, not use the editor.

"Super Booster II will be a magic-themed pack that will sit alongside the Cyborg pack very well. It will have costume pieces and other goodies that are themed for both stage magicians as well as your more traditional fantasy mages."
sounds like new info, I thought the next booster was the "Mac" Valkyrie stuff.....
[/ QUOTE ]
Hopefully the traditional wizard hat that is tall and has stars, etc on it. Perhaps the special power will involve use of a magic wand to cast it? Also Wizard capes that include the overly high collar that characters like Dr. Strange, Golden Age GL: Alan Scott and even Dracula have been known to wear.
Wouldn't mind a horror movie themed one where we can get some nice traditional horror movied themed costume parts.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, they have said they will do some things that were thought to be impossible before. Could that and this pack point to the previously thought not possible robes? After all, it's hard to not think of long flowing robes when you think of traditional fantasy mages. -

In order to recoup cost differences now, all you need to do is go into the editor after issue 13 hits.

When did they make that change? In Sunstorm's OP he just says someone has to enter the base. Doesn't mention the editor at all. -
A variety of doorways with working doors that can be used at either end of the hallways. Like the doors in the Crey missions for a tech base and swinging wooden and sliding stone doors for arcane bases. The doors themselves could be flagged as destructible for pvp purposes. What kind of base wouldn't have blast doors, deadfalls, and the like to block access to invaders anyway?
Would also like to at least be able to put light sources in the halls so my base won't have these dark spots in them. Some wall decorations would be nice, too. -
The Bishop of Battle He's a rad/thermal Corr.
In game bio
Why would he be after Bayani? He is the founder and leader of a group of mercenaries known as The Majestics. He is not above supplanting the group's income with an occasional bounty collection. A hero the stature of Bayani naturally has many enemies in the isles, with the accompanying lucrative contracts placed on him. To the Bishop, Bayani's impending death is nothing personal, it's just business. -

I won't post angry comments about any walk button we get "some day", but I can see prioritizing other stuff above it...like a 'scamper on all fours' run animation...
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, of course, I've never seen this as an especially high priority. Other things being more important is a good reason. I'm just worried increasingly simple things have been getting the "not everyone will like it" treatment, to the point where I'm starting to worry if it really is priorities deciding or if it's that reluctance to not please everybody.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's a difference between 'not everyone will like it, but it'll only take a couple of hours' and 'not everyone will like it, and it'll take more time to do than pretty much anything else'
Really, the 'not everyone will like it part' is a very, very minor concern.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not everyone will like it describes every single change. There hasn't been one improvement to the system without detractors complaining they wanted something else done instead.

Faux windows

I also like this. I'd love real windows that I could place so I could see Steel Canyon, Sharkhead Isle, etc., but faux ones would do in a pinch.
Bonus points if the windows show accurate day/night cycles based on the zone/server they represent.

Most of the negative feedback over flight poses is that they don't stick, and that you can't set the Hover poses (and, again, have them stick.)
[/ QUOTE ]
You gotta go back to the original comments on them, when they were random or cycled through the options sequentially. Even today, some of you guys have strong feelings about certain flight poses (or all of the current options) not fitting the image of their character that they have in their noggin. I would expect walks to elicit much the same type of response. Compounding that is aside from making a different walk for the male, female, and huge body types the possiblity of doing multiple styles of walking for each is so un-feasible it's essentially impossible.
[/ QUOTE ]
What I had hoped for with the fly poses was that when picking flight for a character a window would open with a list of the poses and a pic of each so we could choose a default flight pose for that character. Since they made them into emotes I don't even bother with them, and have very rarely seen any other flying characters using anything other than the standard default pose. It would probably be the same with walk emotes. If people can't set the one they want for thier default walk then they would rarely get used. -

Q. Base Pathing issues, why was pathing changed?
A. The base pathing was never intended to be changed. The fix for it was not simple though, so it took some time for the programming team to get the fix in. We are actively looking at ways to make the pathing system easier for base builders, however, in the future there may be pathing requirements for raiding.
[/ QUOTE ]
We've been told that when the pathing rules are put back in that it will be optional to use them or keep the no pathing setup that's currently on test. However, your statement sounds more like the current test setup people are excited about coming to live may be removed in the future for raid pathing's return. Will people that have no intention of base raiding be able to keep the no pathing option or will we once more be forced into having to design around a system we have no use for?
[/ QUOTE ]
The bold part - I think that qualifier means, if you want raiding happening, certain rules will apply for pathing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, in can be interpreted that way, but it can also be taken to mean that future pathing for raiding may mean doing away with the no pathing rules setup. I'm just trying to get some clarification on the matter before I spend a few hundred game hours decorating my base in a manner that may have to be redone later to fit a possible change in the system.
