Quote:Yes.Thank you for answering that question but i have another one.
can you powerlevel in CoV when issue 16 came out?
But I agree with Chad Gulzow-Man. Since you are still a very new player, you should gain some experience before you worry about how fast you gain experience. I mean that you as a player should gain more experience.
I can't count the number of times that I've heard a PLed level 50 character say "This game blows, where's all the content?"
You skipped past all of it PLing to 50. The stuff on the way to 50 IS the content, for the most part. If you want to get to 50 ASAP so you can join in the awesome end-game raids...you're going to be very disappointed. Take your time and enjoy the game, there is no real reason to blow through the game just to have a level 50 character.
When AE first came out, there were hundreds, maybe thousands, of brand new players that thought Atlas Park was the entire game. Thankfully most of them have gone on to become decent players, or have left. The game is more geared toward creating many characters, instead of just playing one and grinding for new gear. Personally, I have 6 level 50 characters.....and I've been playing for 4 years. I have dozens of lower level characters, and they are ALL fun to play. -
So we've established then that The Hollows seems to be the only zone in the game that is not instanced? I don't recall seeing a Galaxy City instance anywhere either......unless Outbreak takes place there, hard to tell really.
The mission where you have to track down Nocturne is an instance of Faultline, so that covers that one. Croatoa has instanced versions of itself all through the arcs in there.
People brought up all kinds of stuff I forgot about on my original list. -
Quote:I think Praetoria is covered by "all zones"Rogues and Vigilantes can't access Praetoria? That's not right, if it's correct.

The Punisher is another example. He's sort of a good guy, but he's wanted by every law enforcement agency in the world for hundreds or even thousands of murders. He's a good guy by the only standard he cares about: his own. Criminals fear him the way they would never fear the police. There is no appealing his sentence, no jury to buy off, no witnesses to intimidate. If the Punisher catches up to you, you're a dead man. Criminals know that he will not hesitate to kill them, whereas the police will arrest them, and they can get out of it on a technicality. No technicality in the world has ever brought someone back from the dead.
I suspect that just because you're a bad guy gone good all is not going to be forgiven. You know all the Longbow and cops that hang out in paragon City? How much do you want to bet they're going to attack any Rogues they see? The life of a Rogue is probably going to be a dangerous one. -
Quote:Sorry, I have an issue with this mentality.
Your team needs to adapt to you to get the most out of your powers.
You should not ask 7 complete strangers to adapt to YOUR character. If those 7 people were getting along fine, it is YOU that needs to adapt to THEM.
I have kicked players for bringing that mentality to my teams, and I don't see my stance changing on it. Minor adjustments are one thing, but someone saying the entire team needs to change what they're doing is another thing entirely.
It is entirely possible to use knockback intelligently enough to make your presence an asset instead of a liability.
Examples:
Running into a room and firing Energy Torrent at the first mob you see = dumb knockback.
Sliding around to the side of a mob to knock any stragglers within the tank's taunt aura = smart knockback.
Very seldom will it take more than a couple seconds to figure out the best use of your powers. People's issue isn't with Energy Blast so much as it is with the fact that they never know when they invite an Energy blaster if they're getting a good one, or a retarded monkey with a trayful of knockback. You can tell which one you have by the end of the first mob. -

Quote:Wouldn't that technically make it 595% of the base (unslotted) damage of the power?500% damage or 400% +dam. Simply stating 500% damage is a bit vague because, while it's correct that you will be doing 5 times the base damage, many people forget that you're already providing 100% of that by simply using the power itself.
100% would be the power itself.
The 95% would be damage slotting (you can get it to 100%, but it gimps other aspects of the power if you do)
The remaining 400% would be the possible damage boost you can attain. (probably not going to happen without a kin around) -
Quote:I'm assuming you mean sections of the zone in outdoor maps?Which zones in the game do not have instanced versions available for missions? I know Galaxy City doesn't and I don't think Independence Port does either. I could also argue Sewer Network/Abandoned Sewer Network but we have enough sewer maps that it's passable.
Or parts of the zone like in safeguard and mayhem missions?
If that's the case, the only ones I know of that don't are Striga Isle, Dark Astoria, The Hollows, Boomtown, Eden, and Crey's Folly. -
Quote:Actually, I see his point on that one. Yes, Regen on brutes would heal insanely fast and be nearly indestructible. But, Quick Recovery in a set with only ONE toggle? That would guarantee a brute would never, ever slow down at all. Part of the balance point of Fury is that it is nearly impossible without IOs to keep going indefinitely. You WILL run out of endurance sooner or later. Brute Regen would completely screw that balance point up by being nearly unkillable due to stupid high passive regen levels combined with 3 click healing powers, and it would also be able to sustain fury indefinitely as long as there are mobs to fight. What can I say, I would swear Brutes would get way too much healing out of Regeneration because of their higher HP, but Castle said, "No, it's not the healing powers, it's Quick Recovery." What do I know? [shrug]
"But Willpower gets Quick Recovery!" (figured I'd reply to this now, since someone is bound to bring it up)
True, Willpower does get Quick Recovery. But Willpower also has 4 toggles within the set to run, which eats into the extra recovery from QR. It is common for Regen scrappers to not even bother slotting Integration for end reduction, and they STILL end up with an endurance surplus. That's because they only have the 1 toggle to run. Add in Tough and Weave, Regen has 3 toggles to run, while Willpower has 6. That's why it's not so gamebreaking for brutes to have QR in WP, but it would be to have Regen with it. -
Quote:Is it generally considered better to build for increasing maximum endurance, faster recovery, or reducing actual endurance costs. Why?
My answer is D: All of the above.
A lot of sets offer either recovery bonuses or max endurance bonuses, and they almost always have endurance reduction built in.
Get all the accolades. There's +10 max end right there.
Recovery bonuses are the 2 slot bonus on most sets they exist in, and max end bonuses are, for some reason, often the 4 slot bonus. Some sets even have both in them. -
The Gaussian's set can go in Build Up if you can find the slots for it.
And Honestly I'd sloty Physical Perfection with a little bit of heal enhancement too. -
I'd be more surprised if you said you were getting a LOT of drops. Usually I get one or two pieces of salvage and maybe a recipe at most.
Not getting drops isn't surprising at all. -
I personally hate Combustion, but it fits in the theme here.
I would take Neutrino Bolt instead of X-Ray Beam.
Other than that it looks okay. -
Bronze and Silver AE ticket rolls are probably your best bet. You'll have to roll a great heaping crapton of tickets to get them, but you WILL get them sooner or later.
Try to find some good AE arcs that actually have stories so you don't get bored to death farming tickets and you're good to go. -
Erm....wrong forum dude.
I answered your question in the Scrapper forum.
As far as blasters go. Try Fire/Energy. -
Well, as far as the "pvp at least decently" part goes, Regen really is the best option for that. Anything defense based will get shredded by high accuracy characters (i.e. anything in a PvP zone), and resistance based doesn't fare much better, though Electric can be made decent if you sink some cash into it.
Try Dark Melee/Willpower. Not a common choice, it should PvP okay, and it will solo very well. -
I'd put another heal in there and lose the to-hit debuff set. It'll give you a couple more slots to play with, and honestly, with QR, Stamina, AND PP, you won't be having end problems.
-
I typically pick whichever one seems the least threatening at the time when solo.
When teamed I try to pick the one that will probably live the longest.
As far as getting them to hold still....good luck with that. I usually just run around a corner and get them to clump together when they follow me. This tactic is almost mandatory when fighting Council, because they never seem to want to bunch up on their own. -

Expression of amazement that this thread is still going.
Totally unrelated smart remark. -
Unlike most sets that have levels of importance, Willpower has 3 things that are of roughly equal importance. Max HP, regen, and typed defense.
You should not focus on any one to the detriment of the other two.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about damage resistance. Just slotting your powers should get you a decent amount. There aren't too many resistance bonuses to be found in IO sets, and the ones that are found are usually in sets that otherwise suck.
I do however strongly suggest slotting and using Tough. Smash/lethal defense is the lowest one you have (unless you dump a bunch of set bonuses into it), so having good resistance to it definitely helps. -

Free reactivation weekend should do the trick. It simply reactivates accounts to full status for a weekend.
That means anything you could do when the account was fully active, you can do for 3 days. Passing an SG to you should be completely feasible.
