  1. Claws/DA might be able to.

Probably not gonna happen with Spines.
  2. Jay (the costume guy) has mentioned that he tried long robes and dresses, but since there are so many different animations in the game it looked like crap, so he scrapped it.

The reason CoT gets them is because they have a limited number of attacks and animations so the robes can be made to work with them.

The thing with the Sybil pieces has more to do with limited number of costume nodes, and the fact that they are basically just capes with a different attachment point. The Sybils have them because it is part of the character model, rather than a costume piece. Granite Armor and Kheldian shapeshifts actually replace your character model with a different one, the Sybil pieces would likely do the same thing.

    Market Merger

Well, there are a number of things it still applies to.

    - Buying Veteran Rewards
    - Full respecs
    - More than 10 enhancements kept on respec.

The first 2 falling into the category of "never gonna happen" I agree with. Neither of those things SHOULD be possible.

The full respec Positron has actually commented on, saying that it would undermine all the work they've done over the years to make the game alt-friendly. So allowing that would be making 6 years worth of work largely irrelevant, and I can understand them not wanting to do that. Also, there is the fact that it would be abusable.

Vet Rewards shouldn't be purchasable because you haven't met the criteria to get them, and it isn't about the money. I will never change MY stance on that, and I don't think the devs ever will either.

The 10 enhancement thing I don't actually care about, but it has been their stance for years that 10 enhancements is generous, since they are meant to be permanent. I don't see that stance ever changing.

There are probably other things that fall into the never happening category, but those 3 spring to mind immediately.

The market merge was probably a direct result of Going Rogue, and an attempt at revitalizing villain side. I don't personally recall a dev stating that it was never happening, just that there was a coding issue preventing it (that I can only assume they have since solved)

That's what I do for the most part.

I've never leveled a character JUST to PvP with, I just brought whatever I happened to be playing and it's worked out great for me.

I've never felt the need to be ZOMGAWESOME in zones to have fun. Hell, I don't even need to WIN to have fun (which is a good thing with some of the builds I've brought into zones )

Just bring what you have, might surprise you with what some of the oddball builds can do.

Relearn a new game. Relearn how slotting works and how badly some powers got hit (APPs do more than my regular powers??? Wha...???). Casual players don't want to mess with all that stuff. I might, if the zones were really active (or even lightly active, like they used to be), but really I'm just not that into it enough to bother.
I'm pretty much a casual PvPer, and my powers are slotted exactly the same as they are in the rest of the game. It doesn't really matter to me that things work different, because I don't take it seriously like some people do. It's only a game, and not even the part of the game that I play it for.

    Was just extending the offer.

    Call it

It will probably have a side effect of drawing people redside as well.

A lot of people I've seen have mentioned that they like the story arcs redside, but the market prices are a deterrent to playing there. Once the market is all the same they can play the story arcs they like and won't have to worry about not being able to buy the stuff they want.

It's the anti-fun.

I understand some of the changes. Others still baffle me to this day. Travel suppression is annoying as hell, but I do understand why it was implemented.

I was thrilled when I discovered that a Mind Control user can no longer hold my scrapper indefinitely with Telekinesis.

I was less thrilled when I found out using a heal slows me down.

If you're at all interested and play on Pinnacle at all I'd be happy to run a couple arena matches with you so you can get a handle on what's different. It's really not that hard to figure out if you actually have time to mess around with stuff, which you will never be given in a zone.

(PS: I don't run multi-billion influence ubercharacters, so it won't be like attacking a Mack truck with a spaghetti noodle, I PvP with the same builds I run TFs with)

    Good choice.

Your powers will mostly be about debuffing the enemy rather than buffing your team. There is a heal as the first power in Dark Miasma, but it's kinda "meh" for a heal in that it needs a target (yes, it can miss) and the animation is on the long side. But, once you get to the higher levels you'll probably find that you're using the heal less and less anyway.

You can play the exact same combination as a Defender as well, with a slight difference. Defenders and Corruptors are mirror images of each other, meaning one's primary is the other's secondary. Defenders get better buffs and debuffs (just numbers-wise, the powers are identical) and Corruptors get better damage potential.

Or maybe my schedule is just weird and I'm missing all the fun

Because PvP IS fun when the point of it is to have fun in the first place. When PvP starts to be about epeen waving and pwning nubs is when it loses it's fun.

But....it doesn't really hurt it and saves a couple slots. On high level regens, being able to save a couple slots is kind of a big deal because it lets you put them somewhere they would be more useful (like, into Hasten so you can get to perma DP, can't do it with only 2 slots, unless you have some serious global recharge)
  12. I would take Hasten MUCH earlier than level 49.

With Quick Recovery and Physical Perfection, you shouldn't need Conserve Power at all, I would take Resilience in it's place and push a lot of the stuff in the build to one pick later where possible. Try to fit Hasten in somewhere in the 20s, that way you will still have it when exemping (which will be nice, since you will probably lose a lot of your global recharge bonuses)

Erm....this is Electric Armor we're talking about here.

It includes Energize, which still functions like the Conserve Power it USED to be. And it includes Power Sink, which is probably the best end refill power in the game, largely because it recharges so fast compared to the others.

Any Electric Armor character that is having end problems did something very wrong with their build.

Never called anyone a carebear. However, if you choose to refer to yourself as such, I won't argue. After all, you know your tendencies better than I do.

I was just poking fun at the people who scream that it isn't fair that they are being attacked by someone in a zone where attacking people is not only allowed, but encouraged.

I'm not a rabid, foaming at the mouth PvPer by any means. I just feel that complaining about being attacked in a PvP zone is akin to complaining that you got hit by a car while you were strolling down the middle lane of the highway at night. You knew what you were risking when you did it, but you did it anyway.

Hence why I said options A and B were the better choices of the 3 I presented. Neither will make you look like a jackhole, and you either have some fun PvPing, or you don't have to deal with it.

But a 2nd grader could improve on a power no one takes.

By "no one" you mean not a single player, out of over 80,000 accounts, has EVER taken that power? That is what you are literally saying, that there is not a single character anywhere in the game with that power.

Bull****, and provably so. I have Temperature Protection on both my Spines/Fire scrapper and my Fire/DM tanker. It serves a useful purpose on both of them, it is a mule for my Steadfast Res/Def, and it provides slow resistance so that slows will not be as likely to prevent me from using my heal when I need it.

There isn't a single power anywhere in the game that no one has ever taken, THAT I can guarantee.

Well, if you're just trying to avoid PvP, that's easy, just don't go into the zones.

If you're trying to get Shivans and nukes without being attacked, try Triumph or Protector.

You'll still be attacked once in a while, at which point you can A) Fight back, B) Leave the zone and come back later, or C) Get killed repeatedly while whining that your attacker has no right to attack you in a PvP zone. (If you petition them, the GMs will get a good laugh out of it and do nothing, unless your attacker is violating one of the extremely few rules regarding PvP behavior)

Based on personal experience and what I've seen in forum posts, option C seems to be popular. I don't recommend it though. Options A and B are much better choices.

    No problem.

I usually use it when I get in over my head (I'm a scrapper, it happens ) either just before or just after I hit Instant Healing to give it some time to do it's thing (you can regen a LOT of health in 15 seconds with IH)

Another use I have for it is when I need a few seconds for Reconstruction to recharge.
  19. Quick note: Resilience is NOT useless.

If you die (and you WILL die, everyone does occasionally) you can pop a wakie and the stun from it wears off in a couple seconds, so you don't necessarily need a breakfree in order to get up.

I take the Fighting pool on all my Regens, more smashing/lethal resistance in Tough, and some defense in Weave, Resilience gives you a spot to put a Steadfast Protection Res/Def without taking up a spot in Tough.

Resilience also gives you some smashing/lethal resistance in the power itself.

Is it the best power? Not at all, but it isn't useless by any means. I wouldn't go out of my way to take it as soon as it opens up, but if you have a spare pick and want a power that doesn't need slots you could do much worse.

What makes your day to see join your MoSTF, Itf, Lgtf, Kahn, etc etc..

(I tend to lean towards defenders/controllers btw...)
Well, speaking for myself, I like to see an Illusion/Thermal Controller join MoSTFs.

As far as the others go, it doesn't matter a whole lot to me as long as the person playing it is competent.

Rads are always welcome, and I like teaming with Cold Domination characters.

Actually, Ill/Therm would be a good addition to ANY TF at any level range. They can ghost the low level ones, and get their heals early (which are nice to have in low level TFs before tanks' defenses mature). The shields help tanks and scrappers survive before they have al their powers, and are useful for giving tanks more resistance to tank Recluse and Reichsman.

So, I guess I'm saying go with Ill/Therm

    I'm a technology Corruptor.
Starting at level 22 Single Origin enhancements can be found at Tech Quartermasters (they should show up on your map). Average cost is about 30k each.

If you want to start using the high end Invention Set enhancements.....start saving now
The "good" ones can be very expensive. Since you're new, I wouldn't worry about these just yet. It can be a long, involved process learning the ins and outs of them, so you should probably learn the game first before you dive into them. Set Enhancements are a matched set of up to 6 enhancements that all have a special name, like Positron's Blast or Crushing Impact. They usually enhance more than one aspect of a power, like accuracy and damage, or accuracy, damage, and recharge. You can only slot one of each in any given power (so you can't slot 6 Positron's Blast Accuracy/Damage/Recharge enhancements), but you CAN slot multiple sets in a power (so you can slot Crushing Impact Accuracy/Damage, Mako's Bite Accuracy/Damage, and Touch of Death Accuracy/Damage). That is called frankenslotting. Multiple enhancements of the same set will grant you set bonuses, which are bonuses that affect all your powers, or give you bonuses to various things (like more HP or endurance recovery).

Generic Invention enhancements go for much less, they can be bought from Invention tables in the University in Cap Au Diable or the Abandoned Labs scattered around the zones. They are more expensive than Single Origins, but (usually) less expensive than Set Enhancements.

The difference beween SOs (Single Origin) and IOs (Invention Origin) is that SOs will eventually wear out, while IOs will stay the same forever. Enhancements can be slotted when you are 3 levels below the level of the enhancement, so if you are level 22 you can slot level 25 enhancements (this is true of ALL enhancements). Training, Dual, and Single Origin enhancements will get less effective as you level, and when you get 3 levels above the level of the enhancement they will turn red and stop working.

Welcome to the game, and I hope this was helpful and not too confusing

Figured I'd explain here, since you seem to have missed why I chose the powers I did. I picked Focused Accuracy so there is a place to slot Gaussian's, and a Willpower is actually one of the characters that can afford the stupid high end cost on it should you choose to run it. Gaussian's grants 1.25% to all typed defenses at the 6 slot bonus, and all the bonuses leading up to the 6th slot are useful as well. I try to find a place to slot that set on all my characters if it doesn't hurt me to do so, and in this case it doesn't.

As far as Physical Perfection goes, the end recovery portion of it is pretty redundant, that much is true......but that's not why I took it. Willpower doesn't get a self heal, so every bit of regen you can acquire helps, which is why I slotted Physical Perfection with 2 Numina's and a Performance Shifter proc (which is the best single enhancement you can put in Physical Perfection).

Also, Gaidin mentioned the other reason I took Physical Perfection: That build will NEVER run out of endurance, no matter how long you fight for. I would actually probably take Stamina much sooner on a leveling build and respec into that one at 50.

That build could probably stand to lose Hasten, it isn't vital for it. If you like I suppose you could drop Hasten to pick up Super Jump. Or use the power pick to take Maneuvers for a little bit more defense (every little bit helps)

    ty!

It is VERY different. Now it literally is a "moment" of glory.

It lasts for 15 seconds now, and you don't lose your health and can heal while it's active.

You still get ridiculous amounts of resistance and defense while it's up, so you are basically invincible while it's up.

Take it, slot it, and love it. I recommend 3 generic recharge IOs and a LotG 7.5% recharge.

I used to have a different name fr it back when it crashed your health and halted all healing. Back then I called it Moment of Near Instant Death

It has changed, very much for the better.
