The third arc listed in my sig is sort of "Fourth of July-y" in the fireworks aspect of the story and battles.
It's a lot of fun too if I may say so myself - not because of anything I did with it* but because the multi-exploding drones and hoverbots are just a [u]lot[u] of fun, I think. I end up playing it every time I log in since I made it.
*please note that it's not a wordless "go. hunt. kil skuls" AE lame-osity either though; those things depress me -

I work graveyard shifts. My hours of wakefulness tend to coincide with the Europeans'.
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess I can't refute that then!
I work graves too and have lately been thinking of escaping the constant gobble-gobble-gobble on Freedom, maybe I'll have to look into Victory. -
I'll toss in my yea to pad my post count.
(I'm kidding, ok? But yes, I like that option as well.) -
I've already checked my missions to make sure they work, and it was a good thing I did, one was invalidated by a now-unallowed power combo on a boss.
All that above sounds like good things to check over too. -
Yesterday I was rolling my MM around Cap, hitting the tailor, the market, etc. This one guy keeps broadcasting to start up an AE team with the comment about "especially if a healer" or something to that effect. I was sorta bored and had my "anything is good" flag up so he tags me and I join.
I tell him "I'm a /Dark MM I have some heals," but another player in the group kept insisting the /Dark MM heals are "worthless" (matter of opinion imho) so the leader kept looking for a healer. Needless to say, none were found (I wonder what AT he was looking at for healing too).
So he goes "well, we're not going to get very far without a healer" and I say "that only depends if you're not playing well."
You can see this coming right? He quits the team.
A few went with him, I tried to lead the rest into an arc but something with our respective levels or something was keeping us from getting XP so the rest fell away quickly (which btw gives you some idea why I don't lead usually - I still have no idea why that didn't work out).
But I'm still mad about the whole thing - I was robbed of my hilarious n00b train wreck story! -

All others: *tumbleweed* Yes, really, compared to Freedom/Virtue, the rest are deserted wastelands where people plan TFs on the forums rather than just pick and choose from the many willing PuG members who also want that TF. Infinity is OK, assuming you play blue and generally only play during peak time, otherwise, hope you like soloing!
[/ QUOTE ]
I play on Victory, and only Victory. I have enough levels off Victory to maybe get 10 levels off them all combined.
I run one or two TFs during the week every week. I play 1-4 TFs a day during my days off. They're all random, unscheduled PUGs, either from my coalition's channel, or one of the Victory Badge channels. I turn down a handful of TF invites from friends each week, and ignore several dozen TFs that I'm not interested in.
And Victory is usually in the third or fourth from top position. Remember that the SLOWEST servers are at the top.
Granted, 75% or more of those TFs are heroside. Getting on a villain TF is tougher, unless you start it yourself, then it usually fills quickly.
Yes, I do like soloing, but it's rare I have to when I want a team.

Remember this advice is for someone who may very well be gracing our servers at the wee hours of the American night, as was said, if not made clear enough.
Some servers really are barren wastelands at those hours - at least in my redside experience. I know that red vs. blue can make a difference, but when I have whole zones to myself redside, I can't image that blueside on the same server "must really be jumpin'". -
This post would be better in the Stories and Lore section of the boards, perhaps one of the mods could move it for you.

I was gone on vacation for a week and a half recently. When I got back and had a chance to log on to the game, everything looked cool to me again because I had forgotten the visual "feel" of CoH in the meantime. That's about the best way I can describe it.
It makes sense for me I suppose because that's what drew me to the game in the first place. I normally dismiss computer games as a waste of time, but my roomie was playing this and I kept looking over his shoulder, "Say, this looks kind of neat..." -

I'll probably also change the lightning on my Elec blaster; I've never understood how purple/blue lightning came to be the MMO norm.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know, there are arguments for reddish-pink and a bluish tint, though it usually seems just "too bright for color/white." I think it's generally the surroundings or atmosphere that we pick up the hue from, so there's potential for other colors, too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to get too far off topic, but the different colors of lighting you see there are artifacts based on what types of film those pictures were taken with, not the lightning itself.
To photograph lighting, the photographer sets up his camera at night when there's little light around and leaves the lens open until some pops up. Doing so still exposed the film to a little bit of light however, and the film (varying by manufacturer, if I recall) tends to take on a purplish cast or bluish cast when used this way.
Not that any of this matters anymore since no one uses film these days... >.>;
To get back on topic, I haven't really thought much about which toons of mine I'd recolor. Looking back on it, I tend to have a lot of weapon-using toons, so I dunno if that'd allow me to recolor all that much. My namesake stalker whom I never play could get rid of his pink pom-poms and go with his more natural bluish color I suppose... The toon I'm playing the most right now is a Bots/Dark, so I might find some fun in picking out a new color for all her dark powers, something to match her outfit. -
I was worried the new patch for JUly 1st was going to fix this bug, but fortunately it didn't!
Do you think the devs would consider it spam if I petitioned them to NOT fix this bug? I've been replaying my arc a lot and so far the exploding bots just never get old. -
Me again, I have another arc now that's burning a hole in my pocket:
Rikti Drones and/or Council Hoverbots Blow Up Real Good!
ID#243443
Single Map
Duration: Short
There's currently a bug that makes Rikti drones and Council Hoverbots blow up repeatedly when defeated - instead of going "boom!", they go "Boomboomboomboom!" It's like the Fourth of July! Come join the fun and bring as many friends as you can! Nothing but drones, hoverbots and two destructibles.
(easy, ideal for teams, comedy)
Be sure and play it before they fix the bug! Obviously it doesn't pay well in tickets but the fun is infectious, much more than I would have thought myself. 5 plays so far, 5-stars. I've submitted it to CoH Mission Review webite so it should be up there soon. -

What server? Freedom or Virtue?
If either, then...
...bah, I don't feel like getting modded today.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm still making new toons on Freedom and haven't run into this "name problem" in like... hm, two years? No, wait, that was on Guardian, never mind. I've only really faced it once with my 30-odd toons. -
The busiest servers are Freedom and Virtue.
I work at night and back before I played CoH, I used to chat with a lot of Europeans online and I have roughly some idea what your playing hours might be, so I would recommend you stick to one of those two servers. I work at night and often have whole zones to myself at 2 in the morning - unless I'm on one of those two servers. And even Virtue is sometimes a long shot, at that.
Welcome back to the game and good luck. -

Could any1 tell me the command to put in so that when I click on one of my powers it says like local text to every1?
[/ QUOTE ]
No offense intended but I hope you use full sentences, proper punctuation, etc. when you write your macro. Trying to figure out "plz every1 don't kill $target cuz he's like anchor for my dn k?" in the heat of battle wouldn't be too helpful. -
I didn't find these reviews as funny as many of you did (I think he's trying too hard; relax just a wee bit dude and you'll find it's better), but they're certainly don't suck and I did chuckle here and there.
And I do support this man's search for the bad - see, the trouble with bad arcs is that so often the authors don't bother to include any writing at all. Bad design ("Ninjitsu for everyone!") is one thing, but to break out into the realms of so-bad-it's-funny, there need to be words. Words to misspell, syntax to mangle, grammer to be ignored and sense to be absent.
Back before AE hits the streets, there was talk on these boards about finding our Ed Woods and it looks like they just might turn up in this thread sooner or later.
Being an Ed Wood fan, I look forward to this.
My own explorations in tracking down the AE Wood usually turn up little of note, more along the so-bad-it's-forgettable. So godspeed to this brave man in his quest to find the grade Z arcs!
(Regarding the "you're griefing" issue, I think it would be unfair to tell players we can't post negative comments about arcs we didn't like. And that Venture fellow would be gone so fast our collective heads would spin like a balanced plate on a stick...) -
Just off the top of my head SplitWitch encompasses the magic aspect and the dual personages... sort of. And I bet it hasn't been taken yet. With a name like that I'd be likely to give her TP too, btw.
Others: DarkTwin, ShadowSister, Anyaism (like "aneurism", the brain injury). That last one might be better for someone who actually has a lot of mind powers though.
Maybe I need to get the top of my head examined. -
[ QUOTE ]
How about we NOT crowd the only co-op place?
[/ QUOTE ]
It'd be a nice change of pace to actually see any sort of a crowd in there, even if they're in there FOR THE WRONG REASONS. ahem
I have to admit that I have yet to go hang in RWZ though. :P I was too busy cobbling together my latest arc (see sig, it's a blast!), but I do plan on going through with this soon. Maybe I should go work on arcs in the quietude there as well to add some semblance of "people coming to RWZ for the AE" anyway. -
You think "all the travel" in this game is bad, take a look at other MMOs (to be fair the only other I've really looked at was WoW, which left me feeling me very "unWow'ed" - but I hear stories).
But anyways - yes, AE is pretty darn nifty. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm too cool to play your mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
But kids sure do, especially kids playing with fireworks - all the cool kids in fact. You don't know what yer missing. -
My latest and easily my quickest arc to date!

It's not a pointless, barely-written arc I promise you - there actually is some sort of reason behind going into this abandoned office building and blowing stuff up...
Because it so totally rocks!
If you can get a team together it'll probably be even more cooler!!
I'll also throw a shoutout to SpaceNut's arc "EXPLOSIONS! By Michael Bay!" (#243388), becaus he beat me to the punch by about an hour. A thread discussing this bug can be found here.
Go. Hunt. Blow stuf up. -
And I present for you...

I'm going to go make a small-map defeat-all for this right now.

Rattus Rex
Nothing says "megalomaniac mutant who looks like a rat who who wants to rule the world with his hired mercenaries and deviously devised and dangerous traps" like being named "King Rat" in Latin. -
THEY TOOK THE ALMONDS OUT OF MY M&MS, WHY?!?!?!??!?!11!
