I've heard Robotics/Hurricane is a strong, rarely seen, and very good debufer.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've got one of these at about 45th and she's an awesome, frightening force of nature, and that's with just generic IOs. It's a great tankerminding combo. Dunno if it's "rare" or not though. For the record I'm currently running up as bots/dark and that's a greta combo as well.
Come to think fo it, is any MM really "no good"? -
They're going to have this fixed in the next patch according to the notes!
Rats!
Now's your last chance to give this one last whirl, have fun! -

Aw shucks!

Seconded, see my sig for details. In fact, you could run that arc as a fond farewell. -
If I thought they wouldn't somehow get mad at me for wasting their time I'd /petition them to drag their feet on this bug.
And oh hey look, another thread for me to hype my third arc in!
Check my sig for the most juvenile fun to be had in this game outside of the teabag emote! Guaranteed to not be merely a "go. hunt. kil drones.", but it's not really Shakespeare either - just a short and sweet map, lots of go-boom and a couple of other things to blow up as well. About 12 plays so far and four stars. -

I hadn't planned to come back until the next round of proliferation, but it looks like they have canceled that project indefinitely.
[/ QUOTE ]
I seem to recall having read that they still have more proliferations up their sleeve and that we shouldn't expect to be getting one every time we turned around/every patch. -

What gets me is that Aett_Thorn didn't make even a single one of the responding posts.
[/ QUOTE ]I was watching Hulu for 6 hours. Presumably Aett has a similar excuse.
[/ QUOTE ] It appears Aett doesn't post during the weekends at all.

If your primary AT of choice isn't "stalker", well... it should be. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, if it's working for you as is, great. I think I noticed my Prot Bots running out of end after going to RWZ at level 35 and doing some of Borea's street sweeping missions. Back-to-back Rikti spawns drained my Prot bots dry.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that doesn't sound like that's something all that demanding... I'll have to keep a close eye on my Prot-bots and see if they've been secretly slacking off behind my back, thanks for the explanation. -
[ QUOTE ]
Lol the mission 2 Teturn Fialogue sync was lucky, then. Try playing it through as I did and you'll see how cool it seems. If you wanted that to be more of a feature than a lucky event, you could put sth in Fritz' original briefing 'if you ever see any Red system messages, please obey them for your own safety' or similar 'safety insructions' - that way, perhaps mire people would see it.

That's not a bad idea, I'll give that some thought. I was also thinking of using this technique in my forever-in-development next arc, think how funny it could be if you walk into the mission and the pop-up comes up with something like "Hey $name, (contact) forgot to tell you something, better go back" or whatever. This could allow you to break up an otherwise too-long-to-fit briefing or something... anything. Keeping this trick in one's arsenal can't be a bad thing. -
Only about 1 in five people will leave a comment, get used to it. :/
-
Might just be me, but they never impressed me, usage-wise. I had a few on my stalker I worked up to 50, but I always ended up ignoring them and going for the usual attack chain (meaning any attack, not just AS) because they never seemed to do as much or more damage.
-
I was on with my bots MM the other day and had to deal with the shame of being shown up by a thugs MM who could make his pets ;drumlow while my bots just stood around doing nothing.
It was a sad, sad day. -
It's amazing to see so many posts in one thread [i]agreeing[i] with each other.
-
Thanks for the play and the very well considered and funny review! To address a few of your points:
The minute I read Tarquin's bio and some of his dialogue, I knew you were going to love those accepts; I love when coincidence works out like that.
I'm glad it all went ok, I just did some post-i15 reworking on this mish but didn't get to test it yet. And yet, after something like 30 plays, a handful of reviews and countless retesting, I'd never realized that the mishmash set of creatures actually are labeled mishmash2 for their "group"! That was just me tagging them so I'd be able to recognize them on my AE list! DEFINITELY going to have to go in and rename them!
I know it's bad form to open one's mouth and ruin the perception of one's skill when something works by happenstance, but I never considered that anyone might actually leave when they see the LEAVE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY pop-up, it was just flavor text, but I'm glad it synced so well.
In that last mission, Fritz was set for "any" spawn-point, I think. I did think of putting him at the end but overall I don't think it made much difference in testing, so I left him to show up wherever.
The one real "You might want to change this" thing you mentioned was the boss and his spawn in mission one. Come to think of it, I've run into that too and that might be something to look into. I've often found one of the glowies spawns back there anyways, but on the off chance they don't, that's not bad advice.
And lastly - thanks for such an amusing write-up and the kind words! That was fun to read even if this wasn't my mission and I had no intention of ever playing it. Plus it really has me curious to track down your arcs and give them a shot as soon as my schedule lets up (this week is going to be busy). -

What level are you? After 32, the Prot Bots will drain their endurance and basically stop fighting, healing, etc. while they regen a little bit back. This happens mostly on long fights.
[/ QUOTE ]
One of the MMs is 43 if I recall. Maybe I haven't been paying attention, or maybe my battles just haven't been lasting long enough... -
[ QUOTE ]
remember to slot for endurance reduction as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
Care to explain that one? I've got two bots MMs running right now and can't think of why you'd want to do that. -
Every mission:
"You need to go fight some guys - thanks for fighting some guys".
I know this from playing AE arcs. -

....
I want to find the guy who made this arc and punch him in the crotch.
With a meteor.
[/ QUOTE ]
That'd make for a great arc, "Find The Author and Punch Him In The Crotch - With A Meteor!" -
Happy Fourth of July everyone!
What's the best way to celebrate? By blowing things up of course! Over and over again!
This arc will not get rained out, have mosquitoes that bite you charge you too much to sit on the sidewalk to walk, give it a shot! -
[ QUOTE ]
I was actually relieved to see them NOT there the last few Mayhems I ran.
I don't mind them overall since I know they're going to occur, but I have a problem with them on two specific points:
1) They're unfair to Stalkers because they totally negate Hide. On a game level this is just another obstacle to overcome, so no big deal. On a logical level this sort of irks me because there's no reason for them to be able to suddenly see the stalker.
"Oh hey! It wasn't an AMBUSH you spawned! No, no... You just stepped in that puddle of paint back there and we've been following your footsteps. But don't worry, as soon as you kill us the paint will magically disappear from your foot! Until the NEXT paint puddle that is."
2) Ambushes target Masterminds and TOTALLY ignore the pets. Yes, I know that if you have them on follow/defense you still have a better than average chance of survival, but still.. it's that darned Logic thing again...
"Okay men, take 'em out! NO! Not the giant menacing robots who are shooting laser beams of death at us! Take out the small scientist-looking dude behind them.. yeah... the one with the coke-bottle glasses and the comb-over. He's putting shields on the robots while hiding in a corner... he MUST be dangerous!"
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the point here is that it's inconsistent with the rest of the game - and comes as a rude shock to a new stalker or MM player. Seeing as how it doesn't work like this in the rest of the game, it feels a bit like you're being cheated.
Sure, sure, we can all work around it and, if we're an MM, learn to relish it, but it is kind of a jerk move to pull on us. -
[ QUOTE ]
It's almost like people think comic book plots have no room in comic book games.
[/ QUOTE ]
Careful, words like that might attract Venture.... O.O -
[ QUOTE ]
[Thought that was i14? Well, anyway - they finally just gt rid of collusion with them (for the whole sub-pet class, I think) so they have no actual "physical" presence.
[/ QUOTE ]
As I recall and understood it, first they took away their "space" so the MM could waltz right through them, but the Protector Bots kept getting hung up on the Seeker Drones, even after the SDs had gone off, sort of like a ghost left there or something. So this issue they fixed that problem. And having just spent a coupe of hours on my Bots/Storm, I can say I never once saw them get hung up like they used to. -
They supposedly fixed the MM bot/seeker drone problem too - but I haven't had a chance to check it yet.
-
I've taken it recently on my Bots/Dark who's around 24th or so and found it helpful. I haven't slotted it much at all but it still manages to mitigate a few attacks from minions and leuts so it makes me sweat less during combat (might annoy brutes you're teaming with though).
Can't see that as a bad thing.
I am trying to figure out what to slot it with in the future though...
Edit: No, I have not gone round the bed - I thought we were discussing Fearsome Stare. -

Sadly, reading the plaques is still bugged, and you can only read one, unless you log off and on between each one.
Better off checking paragon wiki.

[/ QUOTE ] So that's why I've never been able to read those damn things! I've only had three villains get high enough to choose and I was usually pretty hard set on what I wanted by the time I got there so not being able to read them never bothered me all that much.
Thanks for the tip.
