Ah, I must have missed that part I highlighted there. The toon that was unaffected only has one slot, he's only 10th level.
-
I'm holding off too because I like the idea of having a new disk in case I need to reinstall the game sometime - having the physical product would mean not having to wait for fifty billion patch downloads from when Good Vs. Evil came out.
But my do I wanna run a dual pistols toon or three! -
Well, let's see...
I haven't had a lot of time to play around with i17 yet, but so far I've enjoyed the map markers for the last glowie/foes.
I took a 10th level corr on a run with three friends running brand new demon MMs and that was almost as cake-walky as the time I was on an all-VEAT team. We really should have upped the difficulty when we started making jokes like:
"I could have sworn I saw a LongBow Warden in that group..."
"You blinked, didn't you?"
The set really looks nice, I can't wait to try one out, that and some pistolers.
I spent a little bit of time poking about with the settings to get the graphics working well as my system isn't brand new nor cutting edge and the game looks pretty nice now, even if not top of the line. -
Quote:Well, I have now had time to log in two toons.I'm wondering if perhaps this is only affecting some, or just one, server. I'm on Guardian, and recognize a couple of the others posting as being here too. Unfortunately, I can't swear that I customized anyone on other servers, so I can't test to see if they're affected too.
The one that suffered the recolor I mentioned above was on Pinn (redside). My second toon was in fact on Guardian (also redside) and suffered no changes, so I think that theory's out.
-
I was just playing the 'Deliver Outbreak' redside mish this morning and after clearing about 80% of the LongBow we decided to start in after the canisters. That big white star-burst made finding that last one a really nice little jaunt instead of the usual annoying fog-clearing run around block after block.

Quote:I was trying to follow these instructions from another of your very helpful threads but when I went to Add/Remove, I couldn't find anything listed that even looked vaguely like the drivers for my card (which I believe is the exact same card or one much like it as the OP's). I'm not at home right now so I'd have to re-double-check, but I was taking my time when I went through the list. Three times.3. Go to control panel. Add/remove (or "uninstall a program," depending on windows version.) Pick nVidia Display drivers.
I did get the game to a more workable bunch of setting, so even if I never get to update the driver I should be fine. On the other hand, it'd be nice t see that few extra percent of quality. -

Quote:The good thing to remember is that chances are 90% of players won't notice it anyways. In the end I'll probably do the same and settle for "close enough", but it won't be as fun for me to create that way.
(I ended up going with the flow on it and found it actually opened up an interesting direction for my arc to take as well - still haven't finished that arc though :P). -
-
This topic has come up before and I believe there aren't any currently - or at least there weren't back then; with the newly added maps, this may have changed. I was working on an arc that needed a before and after lab and had to settle for 'close enough', so I know how you feel about having to click through them all.

I've only had time to log in one toon so far and I notcied that his FFG bubble and acid mortar colors had gone back to green. His costume was ok though.
-
The devs have said in the past that adding in weather effects would adversely affect older machines for that five minutes of "wow this looks cool" before we moved on to other concerns.
-
And I looked, and behold a pale, beaten and dead horse: and his name that sat on him was Venture, and thread derailment followed with him...

My computer's not far off from yours (but newer) and I did run into problems, mainly with frame rate. After a little aimless poking about I defaulted my settings and my frame rate's been fine. Granted, the graphics look pretty much like they did before Ultra (and they didn't seem much diff with it on), but at least I can play again.
That was just about 20 minutes of aimless trying though. When I get home I'm going to spend a little time and see what I can get out of some real focused effort, but I get too bored too quickly with seemingly endless computer-settings jiggery-pokery, I'd rather play than spend my entire morning on this. -

We squeed a bit awhile back, yeah.
I'm still pretty happy about it though - currently I'm working on a mission that's about 95% done and sitting at something like 96% of the soon-to-be-old file size, so this couldn't have come at a better time for me. -
I'll say it and risk getting more neg rep for defending the MA but it makes me happy.
I seriously love working up missions there - so much that right now I don't even have a "main toon" I'm playing. With my limited time online I pretty much only work on creating and play-testing missions there unless a friend is on and wants to team (which only happens about a third of the time I log in).
People can rage against the MA, gnash their little bitty teeth over the temporary nerf and hold their breath till they turn blue for all I care. I'm having fun and nothing they can say is going to change what I like. -

Quote:And so on. I'm going to address the question at hand instead. My advice is to just stay as far away from AE these days. They've blah blah blah...
Back when I was spending time with the MA arcs-only SG, we often found that the end of the arc bonus tickets would vary wildly from person to person - one got 220, another 67, stuff like that. I don't know if we ever were able to determine what was up with that, we just kept playing. -
Technically, I believe even "satire" is frowned upon if its acorn doesn't fall far enough away from the tree - not that that's stopped anyone before. This has to do with copyright matters and as usual they're pretty strident about such things (not that I blame them). But I'm sure with a little thought you could still pull off a good satire without breaking any obvious rules.

Quote:Well, I stand corrected then. In that case, I dunno if there really can be just one AT."Minion Master" is a fairly common build style for PvE Necromancers (and sometimes even Ritualists) in Guild Wars. Necromancers built as Minion Masters can easily sustain 10 minions, and a Necromancer with "Masochism" (requires the EotN expansion to learn, and costs HP to activate) can easily sustain 11. Ritualists can summon stationary spirits, but they generally have a very long range, and have a much wider array of abilities than the Necromancer minions. (Necromancer minions basically attack and die. Some have ranged attacks, and some spawn a different minion when they die, but that's really all they do. Spirits can also have fairly potent buffs, debuffs, and mezzes, and AFAIK their range is longer than any enemy.)

I normally play res side and that may color my perceptions, but I believe I've heard that no other MMO has such a dedicated pet-heavy class as the MasterMind AT, so I'll go with that one.
-
I greatly enjoy stalkers although I'm not running them quite as much as I used to. I like Corruptors a lot as well, I could probably make one of each possible build for those ATs and enjoy them all.
I got a real kick out of leveling a Bots/Dark MM. She's currently around 43rd level and I will probably be taking her all the way to 50 and then the GR ultra-epic-levels-thing, whatever that's called. That's pretty rare for me as I've only taken two toons all the way to 50 before, one of which was, yes, a stalker. Back before stalker buffs. And uphill both ways.
Currently I'm not really playing too often, I'm mostly working on MA arcs, but I'm always having fun pulling out some inactive toons to test them with. Like someone said above, it's funny how I can do that and think "wow, I'd forgotten how much fun this toon is".
