I thought I'd be crafty and checked out the prices of a few things I need and can't afford on one side or the other and a couple of purples I deal with. Turns out the prices on both sides were about the same.
If I had more time, I could probably find stuff (like the pet IOs mentioned above), but...

Quote:Yeah, jump in, but only with one toon. After awhile, you'll get the hang of it in general. At least, that's how it worked for me.A warning, don't try to learn the whole IO system from the guides all at once. Concentrate on a few things at a time, specifically things that relate to the main characters you want to use it with. Learning the whole system from the guides (while helpful) will be a lot of slogging through a ridiculously massive amount of stuff and it's easily overwhelming. Learn some stuff, then put it into practice. It's easier to learn it by doing, even though you need a bit of knowledge even for that.

I'm hoping for 'stance' instead of 'emote'. If not, I'll just make a macro for it on a toon I feel benefits from it.

I try to not repeat power sets, but that's slowly eroding away...
My namesake stalker (when I play him) has to completely clear a map before he clicks the glowies, because he's just that mean and thorough. This rule obviously applies to soloing only.
These days, using the bolero for a female toon is admitting defeat for new costume ideas. It still happens.
Anyone who reaches 30 does not get deleted, even if they never get played. Having altitis makes this a bit hard as I'm starting to fill up my two prefered servers, but then again I have fun on occasion hopping back to someone I haven't played in ages. Just this last weekend I took out an Ill/Emp troller I still had base salvage on and had an absolute blast once I refreshed my memory of how she works. One reason I stick to htis rule is because my lay time is limited, so if I get a sudden urge to try out a widow say, I already have one past the "let's go fight snakes, for hours!" stage.
I think that's it for me. -
I'm going to be shuffling a few good soloers off Freedom/Virtue to make room for toons that shine more when they team. The fact that I work at night and play at odd hours makes running an Empth say on Pinnacle for example at 3 AM a losing proposition. After I do that, I'll have a few slots opened up for more "teamers" on those two populous servers. Plus I still have a "redeem one slot" that I've been too indecisive to dedicate yet.

I've seen it quite populated when I step in there like I did I think Friday night at about 8 PM SMT.
Neither your perception nor mine really tell us anything though.
And even if it does, a "nerfage" such as the changes to AE (some of which are temporary, mind you) was totally needed, no matter if it did drive away players; those were exploits, pure and simple. -
That was one of the first arcs I ever played, and still one of the funniest.

This is an amazingly concise guide to Doms, from what I know about the AT. I wish there was something like this for every AT!

Quote:It depends on how far the devs might look into it; could be they find the guy one-starred a number of 5-star arcs that day without playing them. There's no way to prove that they didn't find the arc on random chance, and as far as I know it's not a bannable offense to 1-star someone at random.
I'd go ahead and take the chance that something good might come of it, as it's so easy to file a petition, but it's up to you of course.
Here's hoping you can get back to five stars! -
-
Quote:I'm kind of leaning towards encouraging you to send a petition about this. You'll never know what comes of it, as the devs don't share such info - maybe nothing will, but on the other hand, you just might get a griefer caught red-handed.I'm leaning towards "conspiracy" now. It was sitting at 4 stars again when I saw someone rate it, without any tickets coming my way. Someone must have had to deliberately search for it for the express purpose of 1-starring it.
Priceless, as they say. -
Quote:If I may toss in my two inf here, have you read over any of the guides? I found this one to be pretty good:Congrats! That is an achievement!
I only have 1 dom at 50, whereas I am about to have my 5th corr at 50, my 3rd MM to 50, and already have 4 def at 50. I just can't get into it, and not considering any more attempts with the new set except maybe as a controller.
Can I ask your secret for this AT?

Or maybe Doms just aren't for you; I feel that way about Tanks. -

Quote:The theory in vogue last I heard was that people who've made farms (or heck, maybe just anyone who wants the tickets for their own 5-star arc) will go through and low-ball other people's five-star arcs to kick them out of the running. Why see a conspiracy? There are enough people playing the game to guarantee that sooner or later you'll get lowballed, and unless you've got so many fives that a shift is impossible, at some point enough people will lowball it for it to drop.
I could see that happening; I can also see a small number of lulz-seekers just doing it from time to time as well, sans grand conspiracy; after all, this game has how many players and how many 5-star missions? A 5 star mish is an easy, visible target.
Then I can also toss in the occasional "I not good at computers, Y do this do these thingz?" bad player who gets himself ganked just inside the door of the first mission and then ragequit and one-stars you for his own stupidity.
So - could be a conspiracy, or partly one, but yeah, I have my reasons for trying to avoid falling into that trap 100% (altho Wrong Number's experience is troublesomely hard to ignore).
What this really boils down to: yes, we could just getting low-balled "sooner or later", but ultimately if that small, small percentage of random haters/dumb players and other bad seeds mentioned above can pull almost any arc down from five stars, then our bell curve is deformed at one end, which means the mechanic needs another look-see by the devs.
Which means DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Just hadda say it...

Quote:I generally hate to fall into possible "conspiracy theories", but I've seen this stuff too (one of my arcs at five stars for about 30 plays then zap) and I'm starting to wonder...This. I've never received a ticketless rating with a comment attached. Every single one has suspiciously been right after an arc reached 5 stars. I also find it very suspicious that Fred's arc got knocked back down to 4 stars the very next day after it reached 5 stars.

Well I didn't get time to finish it, I'll be doing that tomorrow. Looks fine so far, just one mish left.

Quote:I see it as useless exactly for the reason you sited. If I set my name as "The Clave Dark 5", I wanted the stupid NPCs to use it, or for it to appear above my head that way (I recall it doesn't, right?).How is "the" as a title a useless option? It's proven very nice and useful in the past, especially since NPCs don't use your titles when talking to you. Think Batman, for example. He is frequently called "The Bat" when talked about, but simply Bat when talked to. It impies a uniqueness.
I had one toon once named "The Stars Are Right" (which was something of a ref and a long story not fitting for here). So whenever he'd talk to a contact or run into a room with a boss, the boss would go "Stars Are Right?! What are you doing here?!" I hated that. If "The Batman" runs into a room, he should be greeted as such. -
Maybe everyone posting here who hasn't already played&rated should do so to get it back to 5 stars...

What? Me? Uhm, no I haven't yet... My time's pretty limited, but I'll try to get to it tomorrow morning after server X-ferring some toons. -
Quote:That's me to a T. I almost deleted my hero 50 (Kat/Regen scrapper) awhile back because he was just sitting there... and I really prefer redside. Later on I found use for him play testing MA arcs, so I'm glad I kept him. I still don't do much else with him though. If I didn't have such altitis, I'd probably take him out from time to time.I always think it's funny when people tally up how many 50s they have and they end up with a double digit number. I only have two 50s (one hero, one villain) after about 4 years of playing.
. I'm sure that's more than a good number of people too.
So in short, no, I've never deleted a 50.
I don't use my 50 villain either (DB/Nin stalker), but no way would I delete her. -
I'll also take the time to zip around the room a couple of times with Ninja Run to give it time to update and still have that happen. You basically have to keep rechecking until you KNOW you have the latest version up.
