  1. These are wonderful additions to my game, thanks!

I see that all the time on zombie and Rikti invasions, drives me nuts.
  3. I haven't had time to check them all out yet, but the Weston Phipps one was spot-on. Good job on Alt-O-Holic too! I'm, guessing these are all going to be pretty good - then again, I'm basing this guess off what you post on these forums...

  6. I hate video games of any sort - complete waste of time... bah, humbug and all that! Then I saw my roommate at the time playing this one called City Of Heroes and kept looking at it over his shoulder, "say, that looks sorta fun..."

If I ever see him in person again, I'm going to kill him.

I just love the big crowd-o'-combat. I have toons that got the accolade and unlockable sword, etc. like two years ago and yet if I'm running them when an invasion is announced, I still hop into the middle of it. There is something to be said for "being rare makes it feel more special" I suppose.
  8. I got some plays - no doubt based on this thread being bumped - and some good feedback, which pointed out that a few bits were confusing to some of the players who ran through it. In response to that, I've updated some text and added in a little more to hopefully make it clear what I was after.

Any new feedback on that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone who's checked it out already!
  9. This arc's writing has been streamlined here and there, the levels reset and submitted for the current arc contest.

    Hope you enjoy it!

Yeah, I hate how they end up wiping the floor with anything the team comes across before I get a chance to get within melee range. Makes you feel kinda useless, doesn't it? (Fortunately the last time I was in that position I was running a ranged AT though.)

Anyways - yeah guys, no AT is obsolete. Those who shout it to the rafters forget that only a small portion of the players read these boards and know the "common knowledge". They will continue on making their terrible choices anyways, like rolling a stalker, playing a */Fiery Aura scrapper and so on - and they will continue to enjoy them as well.

Adding another item logically would equal more sales, when you think about it.

From my experience though, I've seen a lot of people using the other costume parts from that pack but I can count on one hand the number of wolf tails I've seen in game.
  12. Hope I'm not too late, I ran all the way here!

  13. I dunno if they ever really spelled out what "complex mechanics" means, so applying it might be a bit subjective. Something like WN's mission mentioned above, I set my arc, A Wake Foe Dead 6 for "complex mechanics", because I was using a cute trick I picked up here on the boards to get some extra dialogue lines spoken.

In one of the missions, I have two bosses spawn when a glowie gets clicked. Both are set to "optional" so the player won't fail the mission for not taking them down, and "flee at full health". I placed them as close to the mission door as possible. The net effect here is they spawn at the glowie click, speak a couple of lines the player will see, a couple of words appear in the Nav text area, and then they break for the door, having played their part of delivering lines and leaving quietly without clogging up the rest of the mission.

I don't have any perfect suggestion for how the dev's could incorporate it into the Incarnate system, I just made the suggestion it could be to help reinvigorate it. I wasn't meaning to get into detailed methods here, but that could be easily avoided by asking them to run dev-choiced arcs, and asking them to run missions that are, per my example, one mission long, two, three and so on.

But please don't take that as " Clave's perfect-world example", I'm mainly just tossing out the idea here incorporating the AE into part of that system could do so, by exposing the new players, showing the soured that there is worthy content in it and so on.
  15. I couldn't agree more, but it as you point out, it won't stop people complaining about Malta (or customs) being "too hard".

Still, if they could come up with some way to make playing a few arcs with your Alpha-slotter-in-progress ("You need some training, $name, go play 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 mission long arcs" or whatever), that would overcome some of the "too hard" (plus if it's necessary for Alpha slots, what can they do?), get people in the door and get at least a few of them to see that MA is worth playing.

Just a random thought I had.
  16. I had a random thought I might as well toss into the mix here.

Remember how they've said that every new issue will have more material for the Alpha Slots/post 50 game? If they could find some reasonable way to tie just one issue's content into channeling some plays towards the MA (no idea how though), that could help a great deal. People already complain that customs are too hard; Alpha Slot/50th level toons shouldn't sweat over them as much.

You guys (you know who you are) whine and complain about being ignored for months on end and then when you have a chance to get noticed, and most of all to have the MA get noticed by the rest of the players, you still don't like it.

I'm gonna enter this sucker and I'm gonna win because all my competition will be complaining and whining.

Love you guys but cheer up.
Love it, I hope you do win.

Same for me, if I can find the time. Mine was created for the last (I think) dev challenge but didn't win... but with a certain chunk of the better authors not playing this round, maybe I can win by default.

  20. Ok, so this is WAI and always has been - the video is still hilarious. You should list it in you sig.

  22. Man, those devs have such great power that they can show up anywhere in and outside of the universe AND summon zombies on a whim!
  23. If you like emotes, then Party Pack's the one for you. If I had to choose again (as I've owned the wedding pack since forever ago), I'd still go for the Wedding one - costumes mean more to me than trying to ferret out that one emote I want right now before the moment passes on that multi-tiered list.

This one for me. I'd be rather unhappy if some part of one of my better-loved toons went MIA rather than just got fixed up.
