Really, I never expect much from these sorts of pep talks. I'll be pleasently surprised if we get something substantial, but not at all upset (or surprised) if we don't. -
I had no idea these had been added as, yes, all I saw mentioned were the Praetoria ones - thanks for listing these! I'll have to go take a gander at them when I get the chance.

Here's a very different idea: make an AE arc!
When I get a bit bored I start a new one and, because I'm something of a perfectionist, I end up spending many, many hours working out dialogue, map choice, etc. Near the end I'm usually tearing out my hair and looking for reasons to NOT work on it (like by posting on the forums >.>), but when it's done, I feel great about having done it.
AND THEN... when I finally get back into playing the game, everything is fun again. -
So start dancin' already, we've got our dollars ready!
-
Congrats to everyone who won and a big thank you to those who voted for my arcs. The biggest thank you goes to Bubbawheat of course for taking the time to do all the work and provide the prizes.
Over these past few weeks I've been busy on a new arc and it's turned into a real headache - things I wanted couldn't be done, second-guessing so many choices I made and retooling (I still have literally pages of notes to go through, argh), etc. etc. etc. And then when it would get to me and I just HAD to take a break and actually PLAY THE GAME, I was just soloing some Winter Event stuff. Combine all that with the fact I usually only get to play maybe an hour a day and... I didn't ever get around to playing these voting. I feel like I was taking advantage of this contest and yet not actually participating in it, and it's a cheesy feeling.
Well, enough of that. For the foreseeable future, when I just have to get away from the endless salt mine of the new arc, I'm going to take my toon (whom I'm now pretty good at soloing with, heh), and I'm going to play me some arcs, these and others.
I'm glad to see you posted the winners from last year as well, I was wondering if that list was still around. I think those and this year's should be posted in a sticky (assuming these all aren't already on someone else's list of good arcs) so that as time goes by and we face another person posting something about how there's never anything good to play in AE, we can point them in that direction.
Again, thank you to everyone. -

Quote:This mean you guys are looking for tougher fights, doesn't it?The arcs will not be judged based on rewards but based on storyline, creativity, maps, characters, and how challenging as well as enjoyable the arc is.
Regardless, I'll toss my latest into your hat:

I hope you guys don't mind comedy arcs, apprently some people hate them worse than gold farm spam at the markets. -
Well, oddly enough, so far it doesn't seem to have gone away yet; wasn't it supposed to be gone by now? I just logged in a toon I haven't touched in ages and got the "Father Time needs your help" message. Didn't have a chance to hit up the D and check though.
-
Seconded. I have yet to be able to use anything Roman because of this. ;_;
-
I wouldn't mind seeing it stay up for a bit longer, although I've probably done my fill of it. My troller's soloed Snaptooth so much he's probably earned the redcap badge twice over (along with two levels), and the Lady Winter thing is usually just a speed run to the three obelisks and then 30 seconds later it's done, but I always love the music in the ski chalet.
-
One man's garish colors is another pretty sparkles. No one is the final arbiter of taste.
I usually have a range of costume options that give me a choice of colors for the bubbles, etc., so that if a team member asks nicely, I can accommodate them. -
Quote:That would be because it was. I recall seeing him talk about it, or mayeb I read it? Anyways, he said the show's idea started while he was reading a history of the Civil War. Now add in the Millennium Falcon (also something he owned up to) and there you have it.interesting thing with the anti-government thing, noting the period shifted western setting, the observance of different alliance holidays and some other incidental things about the setting. It always seemed to me that firefly was kind of a period shifted tale of a confederate soldier in the reconstruction era america.

I had this happen to me the other day when I roled a new toon - I got there and no Clockwork. I didn't have much time to wait for a dev to reply to a petiton or anything, so I just logged out.
You could send a petition though, or do as suggested about waiting and seeing if any show up in a few. -
Quote:Dark's Twilight Grasp heal can also be slotted with To Hit Debuff. I don't recall which set I used, but my Bots/Dark has hers frankenslotted to give me a reasonable amount of heal with the debuff; more debuff is always a good thing. You forget the 500% regen debuff from /Dark's Howling Twilight, the -res from Tar Patch which can be stacked too with a decent amount of recharge.
I haven't tried any AV soloing with her, but I know I've fought some really tough foes and after Howling T, the above mentioned heals, etc etc etc, I often think "wow, that guy sure is missing a lot!" -
This is what I did with my Energy/SR namesake. I think I have the KD proc in a majority of his attacks and it just never gets old. It helps with the slow animation times of Energy as well - they can't hit me while I slowly power up to pound them down again just before they stand back up.
-
I usually forget to set a new toon to show those ratings, but I do use them on occasion.
I usually do it as an "all or nothing" way of leaving notes to myself, 5 stars with a brief note as to why ("good team leader") one star and another brief note, but with an explanation ("idiot kept rushing in to get the alphas with his blaster").
I don't very often see anyone I've noted as one or the other pop up again though (see the first sentence!), but I did one time end up on a PUG with a one starred player - things worked out ok though, so I just rolled with it rather than quit. One the other hand, if that one star note had said something really strong like "verbal abuse", or "tried to form a team then quit it when he had 6 players but couldn't find a healer" (I got my laughs from it but still, one must have standards), I'd just bow out. Politely. -
-
I'm sure one would get kicked for it, but this is the best response to such idiocy. Well, that or excusing yourself from the team in a polite yet expeditious manner: I favor "Cat on fire, gotta run".
-
I have 2 fifties, one on each side. The first one came in about 6 months after I started playing, the other was easily a year after that. No idea how many hours each took.
I have bad altitis and about 25% of my toons get up into the 40s before I got distracted with a new one. I have toons all over the spectrum of levels out there and I want to play every one of them.
RIGHT NOW. AT ONCE.
So I have no idea when I'll reach 50 again, but off the top of my head I'd say it will be my 42 Bots/Dark MM; then again, my 34 Ill/Rad troller is turning out to be great fun. -
Quote:Hey Santa, what about the bill for MY therapy relating to the time I saw you and Statesman kissing?!You can also expect a bill for my therapy costs sometime in early February.
(You'll only get this if you've been paying attention to all of SteelClaw's threads... don't ask otherwise :P...)
SteelClaw, if you haven't yet, you really should unleash your humor in an AE arc. If you have, please let me know so I can play it. -
Quote:Any toon I have that has such bubbles has a range of costume/color options so I can switch out if someone gets upset about whichever one I'm currently wearing. I've never been asked to change it though, not even when I was running my Fire/Empath troller* with all her powers set for pink - made me sad. This is a different kind of annoying, but I hate the people who color their large bubbles in such a way that it's basically impossible to see through. Like dark purple sonic dispersion. I also hate all of the people on the team (including myself) who don't say "Hey dork change your bubble color so I can see who I'm shooting!"
*"troller" in more ways than one, obviously -
I heard about this a few weeks back, my GF has already set the DVR. I'm really psyched for this, but I always am for new Who.
Edit: grats for a great thread title btw - HA! -
Devs already beat us (no pun intended!) to that one with what's-her-name, the demon summoner.

Gadzooks! Will that stupid clone-war saga never end?!

Quote:Thanks for the info. I've set mine so you have to actually escort it to another spot before it flips out on you, but I haven't had time to test it for all the lines yet. I'll have to try and drag it through some mobs before reaching the betrayal spot and see what happens, if I get the same thing (AE being what it is, wonky). When I was working on Betrayals last, the only dialogues that seemed to work were their Ally Inactive, Ally Active, Ally Defeated, and the dialogue they spoke when they killed something. The betrayal on mine was set to happen as soon as you walked up to them.
