I quit vendoring except for recipes for generics. I drop most common salvage on the markets for 5 inf without thinking about it. For example, you'd get 250 from the vendor; when I drop it for 5 inf, I often get over that, like 5,555 or something. Ever since I switched to doing that, I'm getting more inf overall and saving myself time. The exception for this are things like Luck Charms.
Same goes for most yellow salvage, I usually drop it, click "find" and then only price it higher if it's actually going for more than say 20k. Things like that often are in demand anyways, so I'll still get reasonable inf (meaning 'more than at the vendor') for it and save myself the market fee. (I've been wondering how that math really works out - 'making more off market fee savings' - but I'm not really the one to be able to figure that out)
I've been holding on to most of my rare salvage via the Vault.
Recipes are hard to know for sure. I don't know all of them off the top of my head ("'Kinetic Combat', is that a good one?"), so I'll drop it on the market, click find and if I like what I see, then I'll check the crafted price for it. If I really like what I see there, then I craft it.
I usually don't bother with too much bid creeping on salvage unless it's over say about a million, and even then I lose patience pretty quickly. I'm not ultra wealthy (maybe 2.5 bill spread across a whole buncha toons), but paying the going price of 2 mill for a rare is really easier, although I have been known to low-ball a bid if I know I'm about to log off for the day.
As for build... I've spent two hours just working around on those as well. It does feel like homework, doesn't it? This is why I often just lift builds from these forums and run with those, making an occasional adjustment here and there. I have Mids but still can't seem to bother opening it up and trying to fit my toons-in-progress and checking them for other options. Homework, yuck. -

Quote:D'oh! >.< I missed that due to my speed reading. Never mind.I generally ascribe to that as well, but with the amount of recharge I've shoved into that build, adding 2 more slots of lvl 50 Recharge IO's only drops Placate 2.63 seconds on recharging. I can gladly use the slots elsewhere, so didn't see the need to go from 18.4 to 15.67 on it's timer.

Quote:That's what I was after, yah, I was just wondering if it would double-up when it did fire. The extra 5% of the time would just be icing on that cake of kicky goodness. And 5 is my lucky number.Just be happy getting the 2.5% def to the 3 positions for the set.

Quick question here that has probably been asked before, but:
I've got an MA/SR scrapper and I'm considering six-slotting her Focus Chi with Gaussian's Synchronized Fire-Control for the defensive bonuses. One of them is a Chance For Build Up though. Assuming it fires, does this give the toon a double-build up effect?
Exactly how does the game define "a build up effect" anyway? I checked the wiki for that but didn't have any luck. -
Top hat and monocle? Check.
Tea emote? Check.
2 billion? Check.
An almost-smug pointing out of how easy it was to get? Check.
This is a good post. -
To play I'd say /Dark. I fell in love with it on my Bot/Dark MM - so much in fact that I'm thinking of pulling my Zombie/Dark MM out of mothballs... yeah, that much. /Rad is good too, and I like my Ill/Rad troller, but letting a toggle run doesn't feel as epic to me.
To play with? Just about anything, but I like sets that drop those large slow patches, like Dark or Ice; Rain Of Fire is pretty nice too, if that can even count as "just support". -
Something ominous, obviously. "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" is pretty thematically applicable too, I think. There's another piece of classical that I think would fit (more wild and daring sounding) but I can't think of the name off the top of my head; it was used in a Ren And Stimpy cartoon somewhere, if that helps....
Nice vid. -
Those screenshots should have included tails. /em sagenod

Double-necro!
Just off the top of my head, I think Placate should be three-slotted for reharge. Always. -
Quote:I hate to toss in another story so close to my last, but I was playing the same toon last night. After a near team-wipe I was the last player fighting in a fairly large room that wasn't even close to cleared. I finished off the room in about two minutes and here comes an ambush. As I'm taking them out too, one of my face-planted comrades (who must have gone afk after his death) pipes up with "Wait,[Clave] is still alive?"....but last week I logged into my MA/SR scrapper who's at 27th I think. (side note: MA + Ring Mistress character code = pretty cool)...
Music to my ears. I may end up side-lining my troller and work this toon up instead. -
Echoing what's been thread here, I try to get everyone (and avoid doing so during combat) and I have yet to get an angry response; often I get 'ty'.

She's obviously smart enough to know not to say 'no' to a villain.

It's funny how easily scrapperlock can come back...
Lately I haven't been playing much as I'm working on a never-ending MA arc. When I do play I've been leveling up a troller and occasionally revisiting my namesake stalker, but last week I logged into my MA/SR scrapper who's at 27th I think. (side note: MA + Ring Mistress character code = pretty cool)
I was duoing with a Dom in a fairly high-set mission - Council I think, they bring out the worst in me. I seem to recall them conning yellow+, so it had been sort of slow going (a death or two) and we were approaching each mob a carefully. Just as we finished off one group I dinged. With all those leveling Insp's applied I barreled right into the next mob without a thought and took them all down (well, yes, he was helping too). Then right into the next mob too, which was at the front of one of those wide open warehouse rooms that has like two or three spawn-spots , right? Of course very quickly the entire room was around us, which was about when all those Insp's wore off. Maybe before. To tell the truth I wasn't even checking, just kicking.
A couple of minutes later they all lay at our feet and our health was in yellow to red territory and I had to tell the guy "Sorry, scrapperlock :P"
Not an ultra-epic scrapperlock moment, but it showed me just how easy it is to fall back into this dread condition. -

I remember seeing the occasional stalkers do that, back in ye olden tymes. All it takes is one and people goes into their stalker-hatin' mode... It always annoyed me because I like stalkers.

After four years I've found I'm still enjoying this game - color me surprised!

Thinking about it, I recalled that Hereclea had a single mission arc that was written all in Latin* with satyrs and such, that should qualify, right? I can't recall the title's proper spelling off the top of my non-Latin head though.
You might want to shoot her a PM and see if the arc is still up and if she'd like to enter it.
*Her Latin skills are great, she was happy to do some Engish-to-Latin for one of my own arcs; I'd enter it but the 'Roman theme' is only one mish out of five... -
My first toon was made on a friend's account, an AR/(something) blaster. I lost interest in the Hollows about level 12 I think, but at least I did learn the fine art of dodging through high-con enemies. :P

Quote:I haven't seen it crash but sure has gone slow for me. I click edit and the whole game just freezes for like 20 to 30 seconds before the editing screen comes up. Then again, the arc I'm working on is long and wordy, so that might have some effect on it too.Over the past three days about 1 out of every 3 times I click the "Edit" button to edit a story in MA my game hard crashes. Have sent multiple reports to the devs but was wondering if this is happening to anyone else?
I've verified files and have even tested it with making new arcs with just one mission and one objective. And as time passes the crashing is becoming more and more frequent. Am I the only one? This is seriously becoming annoying, I can't even edit my stories. -

Seems that adding in newly created stuff to the AE system (such as the Kinetic Melee set for customs) always lags behind it's first introduction in the rest of the game. I think talk of the devs having abandoned AE is all a bit premature. So far. We'll see.
