Quote:Yes, they very specifically played on that as Rory said he didn't have to imagine what it was like, as he's seen Amy go through it.The description River gives of her first meeting with the Doctor, when she was talking with Rory, didn't it sound awefully like Amy and the Doctor's first meeting?
No one noes. NO.. ONE.. KNOWS...Quote:Unanswered questions I'd love to learn the answers to:
Whatever happened to Susan?
Whatever happened to the Doctor's Daughter from season 4
Was Romana that Time Lady we saw in End of Time( i'm sorry the bit about that being his previously unmentioned or seen Mommy just doesn't have the same impact)
Maybe any/some of these will be addressed this season. Myself, I'm ok with not knowing, 'filling in the gaps' sometimes goes too far I feel, I prefer to tread newer ground more often than not.

If they ask the devs nicely, they might get one to toss into each issue, something like how the devs gave some out for the winners of the Player's Choice AE arc contest this year.

I've been playing my Energy Melee recently and he seems to down them pretty quickly, to chime in with what some of the others are saying. I'm pretty sure he's faster at it than my DB stalker was, at least; part of that probably has to do with resistance to lethal that a lot of foes have.
I haven't played any other stalkers past, say, 15th however, so take this with a grain of salt. -
When working my way through low level redside, I've always found any MM to be great. I make a point to take out a few street foes along the way to the next mish (if the pets fail and die, I'm already working on high-tailing it) and it always seem like I turn around and I've dinged again.

I only have two 50s after something like three years playing, something always comes along and I either get bored with a current toon or a new one I've made grabs me more.
When GR came out, I thoughtlessly made like 8 toons, only three of which have gotten past 30, A couple have finally left Pratetoria, but the rest still languish there as I prefer teaming and it's hard to find teams during my normal hours of play (early morning). The three are an Ill/Rad troller, a Mace/Elec tank (first tank I ever cared for) and an MA/SR scrapper who's nothing but fun.
And then I started enjoying playing my namesake stalker again after all this time, finally getting him up to 43rd and well on his way to being IOed-out...
And then I went back to a DP/Mentalwhateverthatpowersetiscalled blaster who was at 18th level, got her out of Praetoria and found a great team and zipped her along to something like 26th...
And then I went back to a Fire/Traps corr from a long time back and ran him a few tips...
...and that poor tank I liked hasn't been touched in months.
I just can't help all the toon-jumping-around.

The only possible gripe I can pull for the video is that it appears you used some of your footage twice. Seems to me a video like this is "words to listen to while I also show you some pretty pictures", so there should have therefore been different "pretty pictures" all through.
Otherwise, well done.

Thanks everyone and a big, big thanks to The American Legion for holding the contest!

I went ahead and checked my arcs and only one out of my seven was affected. The bad news is it was my newest one, which annoys me to no end.
So I went ahead and filed a bug report on it as suggested above. -

Quote:Hint: they all look about the same.I'll probably make an alt or two on some of the US servers, just to take a look around...

I'm an NA player who works at night, so I may be looking to move a few over to the EU servers, or start a couple of new ones. Shame I can't speak any 'Yurrp'. :/ -
Ok, that was amazingly well done, hands down. I'll be reading this all the time, but I might feel the need to hide this fact from my girlfriend and manlier friends.

You'll probably have to make your own if you keep getting the orange message. Then again, if he's NOT a combat ally, it still might work; sometimes the MA ignores such things past giving you the message, so if it lets you load up the mission, give it a spin and see what happens.

1) Put hands over ears.
2) Do not look at the server list for the new servers when you log in.
3) Speaking loudly, say "I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALA!"
4) ?????
5) Profit!
I sincerely wish you good luck with your break down. -
Really? Once the current issues are resolved, I'll try and track down your other thread and submit my latest arc. I posted a thread for it on the boards like three weeks back and only two people (newer AE fans in fact) have played it. :/
-
Yeah, in teams AS is only occasionally useful. I usually would open up with 1K Cuts on my DB unless there was an AV to start out on because teams usually steamroll too quickly. Still, I did find there were moments when using AS was a viable option. It's all a matter of being flexible during combat and seeing your chance.
That said, if you don't like it, dump it and be done it it - no crime in playing like you want to. -
It's nice to have a tough choice between two great things isn't it?

Having played both (but not Elec yet), my own generalized description of play for each one goes something like this:
SR: nyah nyah, can't touch me! Time to just click my attacks, too bad for you poor fools! However, it starts slow at the lower levels.
Nin: I can heal up pretty easily and oh so many useful toys! It's fun from the get-go and just gets more-so as the new toys come rolling in.
I've enjoyed them both, neither one will steer you wrong, unless there's something about Elec I don't know that makes one or the other terrible choices. Is Elec tough on End? I found SR was, until I slotted myself well to help with recovery. Then again I was running an Energy Melee which is already tough on End. -
I know ProPayne (sp?) posted a long thread long ago about doing just such a thing, giving short reviews along the way. I think he just asked for people to submit their arcs for him and he made it to 50 on that alone, so it can be done. The thread that Teeto_K mentioned would be a good place to start too; if you scan this forum, you'll see a couple of good threads chock full of "play-tested" arcs like that.
Plus, if you get stuck, I'm sure you could make a request here and people would be glad to suggest arcs they've made or even others they've played and liked that would be level appropriate. -
Quote:It's been pointed out before that litigation has a wonderful way of making one over-react to the merest hint of copyright violation. This is not a matter of devs being stupid, it's a matter of CYA in legal matters; even if it's fairly cut and dried, just getting it dragged into court can be enough to bankrupt you.Hold on a strawberry flavoured minute. The name 'Thor' is public domain. It's the name of a mythological character and cannot be copyrighted.
Just because Marvel has a character based on said mythological character does not mean that Marvel own full rights to it. IIRC Marvel only have a copyright on their versions appearance and concepts they've added.
Any names, locations and concepts from mythology are fair game for anyone to use. This should be reflected in the filter. -
Quote:I'm getting hints of Zardoz. All very interesting. And what would it be like to live alongside those beings, during a collapse of civilization, knowing that they were the only hope of civilization being rebuilt, the only ones restoring the technological infrastructure of civilization, the only ones imposing law of any kind? Especially if you knew, in most places, that they insisted that their help for you was conditional on accepting their divine/human descendants, and those descendants' descendants, as our hereditary rulers for all time, because somehow that one drop of ichor in their blood, that one trace of divine DNA in there hypothetically somehow, made them better suited to rule us than we could possibly be? That's what it was like living among gods; and I think that at times, like in the issue 19 Ray Cooling arc "Bad People, Good Intentions," City of Heroes comes close to portraying that.

Quote:Well it seems my latest arc is also affected as I can't get it to start. I went into the editor and nothing was orange-flagged and I can't recall having used any of the mentioned words, so... I'm rather unhappy about all this.* Maybe there's some sort of bug that snuck in that's affecting other aspects of the AE as well.I'm with you Eva. Apparently a new list of words went in with the last patch. "Aragon" seems to be one of them, so everything with "Paragon" in the title is now flagged unusable. Also "spider". "Sentry" "Emerald" ....a lot more. Most of my character groups (previously existing) have been flagged unusable. Basically, really pissed off right now.
*Please note this is putting it mildly. -
I heard a former-hacker-turned-net-security-guy talking about this on NPR and he said he was surprised that Sony hadn't bothered to encrypt the information, so... perhaps they ARE a complete bunch of morons.
