I tried that once with this very game (long story, not a ragequit or anything) and my bank said "We don't do that. Just come to us if they do keep charging and we'll straighten it out." I wasn't very impressed. >:/

Pretty much this. When stuck in the DO doldrums, I often tend to only slot ACC, sometimes even having a five-slotted power with nothing but ACC in them. Once I hit 22, then I slot for other things like damage.

Fire/Traps Corr is pretty awesome; so is an Ill/Rad troller, I have one of each and quite enjoy them both.

I do this a lot. Currently I have a Grav/Thorns Dom I want to rename and I still can't come up with something I like. This has been the case for the last three months or more.

I have no idea which toon or at what level I was playing, but I seem to recall having run across her in a tip mission, probably a villain one. I think I was on my stalker, level 43 or so, because the more I think about it, the more I seem to recall she only conned yellow so I was able to drop her with just one attack.
Edit: Grr, beaten by my verbosity, again! -
Thanks for the play-through and checking! I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner on this but my life has been busy; same goes for playing through your arc. First chance I have for some playtime (today would have been, but... you know...), I'll be running your arc. I'm really looking forward to it, based on what I've heard.
Quote:I more or less planned it to build up into those broad strokes, so seems like you did fine with it.With When The Words Stop #494099 I think this is a situation where I have to be man enough admit that I don't think I'm smart enough to truly get all the metaphors in this arc. I got it in broad strokes but overall I felt quite lost.
If it helps, thinking back over it, think of the first three missions as being the metaphors and the last one being pretty much just her memories.
Huh. I double-checked it and he is a member of the group, dunno why it did that. I had some editing problems where that mish kept reverting to a previous version of his group, but that wasn't the case here. To be safe, I set his group name blank manually (meaning I typed it by hand there), so that should take care of it. Haven't had a chance to play test it for that yet though. My main reason for having you check over the arc was for typos, so I'm glad you didn't find any.Quote:Didn't see any outright typos except one odd quirk that might have been due to this recent AE bug. King of All Monsters is listed as being in the All Custom Characters faction. Should be moved to something else if possible.
To tell you the truth, I'm not sure why I did that; it started popping up that way in my notes and I just ran with it. I'll take it under consideration, it's a good idea, really.Quote:There's several points in the arc where you mention where Emily put smiley faces and such in the notebook. Rather than doing that with words, you could use the text editing options to actually make smilies and frowns. Purely my opinion but I think this might be more immersive since this is supposed to be in her voice as opposed to a narration.
I'm personally ok with them being found out of order, what's your thinking on that? As it's an outside map, wouldn't that not be a guarantee of "proper order" anyway? Sort of along the lines of "there's no front middle back".Quote:Since objectives can be dragged and dropped in the editor, you might want to move the clues around in Mission 3 so they are in sequential order by their Dewey Decimal numbers.
Thanks again! -
Quote:Spoilers! So maybe I missed the discussion somewhere, but what's with the lady who keeps popping up in the little portal and talking to Amy right before disappearing again?

She's appearing later in some up coming episodes ("duh!", I know). People scanning over imdb have already gotten her name too. I think that's about all we know though. -
Quote:I believe I did say about as much, yes. There is always going to be something new/shiny either in development or just launched and in need of attention. If that's the reason for no attention being given to MA, then please stop patronizing us and just say what we all already know: MA is not on anyone's plate. ... Sorry, time to face the facts as distasteful as they may be.
-
Everybody right ow has Incarnate stiff on their plate, which doesn't leave room for much else. Whatever new shiny comes along will be crowding the old, whether it be power set proliferation or whatever other favorite pet topic you have (unless of course your fave pet is whatever the new shiny is, which is how a solid majority f people in the game are).

Quote:I've read in other forums discussing this question and it seems nothing was cut from the US version. The disappearing pirate is something a lot of people have commented on, it was just bad editing/writing or what have you.Anyone stateside starting to notice missing scenes? How long was the UK air time?
This ep will never set the world on fire, but it was a solid, generic Doctor Who story; 'generic' can be taken in both good and bad ways. Personally, I was happy enough with it, but considering all the irons in the fire the show has right now, it can seem a touch pallid. -
What, no role for villains?
EU players hate villains! -
Quote:Is a cute fuzzy bunny a Warshade? I once teamed with someone's Warshade that had a name like that (can't recall now what it was exactly though), which indeed made for some fun in-mish dialogue.I have two like this. One was created solely for fun dialog like this. "a cute fuzzy bunny".
The other also creates fun dialog, but actually has a reason behind it. "a tiny kitten", who has a group of street thugs who protect it from harm.
That said, the idea of a tiny kitten being protected by street thugs is pretty funny too.
Like I need another toon, but this thread is making me want to create another alt.

Thanks for the info, Z, we appreciate it.

Quick update: this arc was invalidated by the on-going bug but I was able to fix it, apparently.
One of those weird things where you open stuff up, look around, see nothing amiss, re-save and then it's good to go again. That and using the word 'disaster'.
So it's open for biz again! If anyone has any probs with it, please let me know. -
Well I apparently was able to fix my latest arc When The Words Stop (#494099) - yay me and go customer service gremlins! I'd be grateful if you could give it a run-though, if your queue is still open.

You can find it's thread here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=256920 -
Quote:I agree. It like dropping sugar cubes near an ant pile - the greatest number of ants will congregate near the sugar, but you will find a few here and there elsewhere. Right now the sugar cubes are 50 content so everyone's there.Since the new shinies in question are pretty much all concentrated in 50th level character range, the early level stuff has become a ghost town.
The problem I see is they're promising us a new 50th-level sugar cube each and every issue which means that a certain number of the ants will always be playing their 50s (ok, so I can't sustain the metaphor, but you know what I mean), or at least there will be an upsurge in them each time a new issue comes out; the devs are obviously focused on end-game right now and will likely continue to be so for the foreseeable future.
Now when you look at it from the way some players (by which I mean me of course) may want to play - not 50, low-pop servers, non-prime-time hours - they're a bit marginalized by the whole process. -
So the prob with my arc was I used the word 'disaster' in it - strange thing to flag if you ask me unless there's some obscure character I don't know about; easy enough change.
There was also a strange prob with a costume somewhere, so I opened them all up, didn't see a thing, saved the arc and it's working now. Very bizarre bug!
Big thanks to the customer help people, you know who you are! -
Quote:I'm beginning to come to this conclusion myself. Due to my work hours, when I log on, usually what I see is Virtue and Freedom are only yellow, all other servers green. I log onto a toon, usually redside, do some quick searching and see a majority (of a small number) of players are 50 and in Pocket D.I read thru all and I have been getting better results now that the newness of WTf are wearing off. But then I20 hits and I might as well just stay on a 50!
I'm getting the feeling that the introduction of end-game has split the player base once more. Hopefully not for good, but only time will tell. This rather bugs me as I'm not so all-fired to only play my 50s; altoholics playing in my time frame (or on less populated servers) are kind of screwed by this. -
Today's Moment Of Zen....Quote:That said, I posted something about being disappointed that AE wasn't snuck in as part of the Incarnate experience back when they first announced it - that would have been a perfect way to support the AE and to keep the new post-50 game thing from growing repetitive. An easy way to avoid the usual AE farming would be to make only Dev Choice/Guest Author arcs usable for Incarnates.i would like to see some reward options added to AE because AE is literally worthless to try to make progress on anything except increasing your inf (through running and tickets) and xp for lvling
Well, maybe they'll look into it sometime soon. -
So I got a response to my bug report asking me to attach the arc file to the ticket so's they can take a gander at it, which I've done. Funny thing was now when I open up my list of arcs this one bears the dreaded orange "invalid arc" icon (still nothing flagged inside the edit window though).
I'm not so pessimistic that I'm about to go through my arc trying to second-guess everything - too much text! - so I'll wait and see what happens. Patiently. Some of you guys are just way too down for my taste... -

I've considered it on occasion as well for the same reason. I play at night/early morning due to my work hours and I often have to jump around on toons before I can find a team, and I always have better luck on blueside. Thing is is, I like the redside zones much more and the more direct flow of leveling through which zone. Plus I just don't see some of my toons fitting in; I'm not an RPer or anything, but taking my name-sake stalker to blueside would just feel sort of wrong somehow.
I'm sure someone will come along soon and reccomend you signing up for the various chat channels (something I need to do myself!), so you could try that if you haven't already.
