Quote:I bought Steampunk this morning and had the same thing happen, whereas they usually were immediate for me as well. So I logged off, went to bed, woke up and there it was.Done that it is listed as a perk. Usually when you buy a booster it is unlocked right away. I guess today they are having some kind of issue.
Chances are it's just taking time right now. -
Go search in AE for some 'challenging' arcs, some creators have gotten pretty crazy in there I hear.

Quote:Please keep this in mind.I like a lot of the things the devs are doing with the game and give them a lot of leeway on the things I like less and when they make mistakes (they're only human after all.)

I would think avoiding a lawsuit is worth it? When the legal department says jump, you have no other choice than to ask how high, gotta keep the game profitable afterall - for the owners, not the lawyers they hire. As for 'it never should have happened'.... well, that is sort of why this is a bug, right? Now, please go back and read your first sentence, especially the 'only human' part. -
Maybe I've been terribly, terribly lucky, but I can't recall ever having to ditch an arc while thinking "man, that custom group was way too tough for me, my AT or anyone else except purpled-out Warshades!"
Then again, I usually play arcs designed by 'good designers' instead of just SomeGuyX's latest farm attempt or half-completed-sans-story arc. And I can usually tell by the time I would be hitting the accept what category the arc will fall into.
I dunno... I think this problem may just fall back onto the rotten search features we have/don't have. -
Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal!
I have seven arcs up and three were affected. Two now repaired by me, but truth be told I haven't had the time to play-check all my arcs to be sure. One was somehow affected but played as if it wasn't.
I think also that Mr. Wheat's point in the OP was that the devs haven't been terribly forthcoming/transparent about all of this, which is leaving some players feeling sort of ignored. More words = more concern. Or at least they feel that way. -
Both Kat/Regn scrappers and Ill/Rad trollers are great fighting machines; dunno about the blaster, not my area. If the troller feels 'cheap' to you, then I'd say go with the scrapper.

Yes, really - this is the current bug, the filter is being over-zealous. If you read back through this thread, you'll see that the devs are aware of this bug and are working to fix it; they've even already published one fix but it wasn't enough, apparently.

Shaky-cam is shaky, I couldn't watch it.

I ran across one when I exited a mission and the map/graphics somehow failed to load correctly, leaving only the clouds, doors and windows, people and cars. My character (who was rendered ok otherwise) kept dropping below ground level about 20 feet then popping back to ground level, dropping again, etc. I ended up going around exploring and now wish I hadn't logged off so early and taken more screen shots. Glad to know what this thing is now.

This is now my desktop.

I didn't go in-depth, but searching YouTube for "cheesy horror film trailer" alone turned up 444 hits. Maybe looks for "70s horror film trailers" or (better yet) "Hammer horror film trailers" might garner you some good stuff - can't go wrong with Hammer films.

I'd post a question in your other thread, but I think I know most corners of the AE system, except maybe for putting GMs into a mish. :P -

Here's what I do to create far too many characters:
1) I'm always thinking of names and writing them down. A great name like "Black Cat Jynx" just suggests everything to me - cat-look (paws for the lower legs, tail, ears, etc) villain... then I sit and ponder the power sets (Ill/Rad btw, nothing spells "bad luck" more than an Ill/Rad coming after you). Oddly enough, the look for his face was influenced by an animated film from the late 60s about a bunch of cats in France, title escapes me... Anyways, I ramble.
2) I have on occasion just sat and clicked the random button for costumes. Somewhere in there I'll see something I like. It might just be the face or a couple of costume bits, but it gets me started and I'm off to the races. The above-mentioned costume threads are great places to steal ideas from too.
3) Sometimes I just want a toon with X power sets and so I start from there and ponder how that would work out, what it might look like etc. Again, the random button can help here.
In regards about the costumes, I have a couple of toons that are named something generic enough ("Space Fire" or something) that I set out from the beginning to have no set style or look. So if after I make him look like an alien, the next costume might look like a cowboy, the one after that might be all steam-punky, etc. depending on what costume idea I have bumping around in the back of my mind at the time. And sometimes I start off just thinking "I don't see people use the rhino horn that much, I wonder what I could do with it?"
Once I get a toon that has a good look and idea behind it, I have trouble keeping my hands off it - until the next one comes along anyways. :P -
Looking at the rest of the picture, I'm thinking all the colors have been enhanced a bit via Photoshop work. I'm sure the clouds were green, but not that green, just as the buildings were their color but not that much their color.
All that said, I'd be taking a radio/paper mish (preferably one in a cave) and waiting until I saw the red message telling me it's all blown over.

Quote:I have some 'security' guards in one of my working missions, so I doubt that's it.One of the custom mobs in my group (Rogue Crey) is named "Security Guard", so it would not surprise me in the slightest if "security" was also a banned word.
Also, seconding MCM, NOOOOOOOOOO! This is just one thing, don't let it get you down! -
Against The WickerWork Khan! #346904 @Clave Dark 5
You can remove this, finally fixed thanks to a sharp-eyed support helper who told me I needed to change the save path as well as the name. -
Quote:The name of the file from the AE editor window:Just to be clear, I'm changing the name of the file as it appears in the AE interface or in my saved folder for such things?
S.
1) Change the name in the normal name blank. ("Lantern Warrior" becomes "Luminaria Warrior")
2) Instead of clicking the normal save thing you should instead look down at the bottom left for the button that says 'edit save path', then change the name there as well. (I change "[computery-file-name-stuff]/Lantern Warrior" to "[computery-file-name-stuff]/Luminaria Warrior")
3) It now should save ok.
If I recall exactly, what I did then was set the group chosen from WickerWork to a dev-group, then back to WickerWork and it all loaded up ok.
I think this works - it got rid of the error flags anyways; still haven't had a chance to play-test for make sure though.
EDIT: just played it, works fine now. -
Changing the file name worked like a charm for me, the arc appears to be fixed. I was thinking it might be a bit more of a PITA to take care of this way, but it all fell into place.

The lag I saw on Cap in Freedom was actually (previous post aside) only about as bad as your run-of-the-mill invasion. Maybe a little less, I was pretty much able to fire off powers when the button recharged. Definitely slide-show-city though.
I decided to do the thing using my Bots/Dark MM which no doubt helped - set bots on aggressive, latch Darkest Night onto a purple-con something-er-other, and then click my Heal when the chance arises and it's all good. Might have bitten more for a melee character. -
I took part on redside and lag was only twice as bad as a Rikti raid. em smug
