Im not trying to put pressure on devs, i understand overworked..but event was more than a little stale coming out of the gate, I wasnt expect anything big. I appreciate that both this winter event and the Halloween event were put together by a very few developers who managed to squeeze out a little bit of spare time in between their Going Rogue responsibilities.Putting out a new expansion is no small feat im glad they spared soem time for us.
War Witch and the art department deserve kudos for the banner event... its amazing what a little bit of borrowed programming time did. I sure wish they could have time for new creatures.
the new winter raid, I think was hard to get a large enough group of people together to complete is a sign of the fatigue. they have a year to make a new winter halloween spring event 6 months after gr comes out i hope they use time wisely... -

mostly avoided winter event this december. reason 1 was i had canes and wasnt interested. reason 2 was seem like same old but with 1 new event (present). reason 3 had betetr things to do
Just for a thought
how about a new winter event next year? chalet and old stuff can possibly stay for people who didnt complete them 4 years in a row
but things i like to see
1 a jack frost gm and/or a gingerbread man/woman gm
2 upping the inf gained from presents to at least 500,000
3 more pets ( how about a reindeer with glowing nose)
4 change baby new year to something else...maybe santas workshop and the toys have gone nuts save elf from them?
just thoughts if you enjoyed the winter event more power to you but after 4 years its dullsville even with new raid event,.... -

I am torn on Capn Jack. Immortality does make for a tension buster as does Who lore which makes him the Face of Bo waaay in the future but I still find it a fascinating opportunity for writers to explore an everyday person given the gift/curse of living forever which while Dr. Who is in the sameboat, somehow never really addresses it. I think the only one that did was the episode where the aliens wanted to steal his regenerations so they could finally die.
One could see the writers putting forth the idea that humans are human because we die. We get to shine very brightly, make a huge stir, and then fade out leaving little but a memory. Someone who lives forever has to be much more careful because a random word in anger or misunderstanding can haunt you or even existence for a long time to come.
So Jack is no longer a human, should he be running an organization to keep humanity safe from outer space threats?
It seems like he is trying to hold on to his humanity but for how long? And when does he become like Dr. Manhatten? No longer in touch with the folks that are like him?

i like the banter on channels. if it gets annoying i take them off chat tab and put them on own tab.
as far as vu2010 topis. yes some are off topics but cant do tfs/events 100% of the time with 1000+ people
Virtuetfs-mostly are task forces and badge hunt occasionally a gm or a special event announcements but there is now occasionaly banter...why? because if you dont same thing over n over your mind wanders,,,,
occasionaly as a mod in virtuetfs i tell people to get back to topic but being winter event and people in jolly post school mood i let them banter far more than they used to its the holidays relax,,=) -
