Quote:Sorry, I did not mean to come off as snarky. I understand that some players have limits... but the standard system is working well for me averaging about 1 hr a day during the week, and whatever I can get in on the weekend.O RLY?
Then why don't you pass on your secrets to those of us who can only play a few minutes a night, and must eschew most TFs.
The new TFs are fast - hourish - and drop during, and reward shards and merits both at the end. A kill for shards ITF or LGTF are both still relatively fast. I've also had then drop pretty consistently on my tougher characters running at x6, x7, x8 solo.
Without feeling like I'm grinding, I've got 7 50s unlocked, 4-5 50s slotted, and two to uncommon. -
Quote:This. IMO it is by far the smart approach.I move on to the next character.
Of course at some point I'm going to go back to my "finished" characters. They'll just be saving up shards.
Not sure why the words don't go together. Getting shards is proving relatively easy. -
Quote:yep, yep.If you are seriously considering Electric/Electric you should know that Electric Control plays extremely differently from other control sets. EC relies on delay and disrupt powers that are not hard controls to get the enemies endurance sapped.
Quote:It is extremely effective if you slot the right powers for endurance drain
yep
My elec/elec is my only single element dom and of the various mixes I've tried (only one previously taken to 50) easily the most powerful of them.
The 'nope' above is because without slotting a single power outside of conductive aura for end drain I wipe entire spawns clean of endurance.
It is a soft control set, but a set with so much soft control that the targets are locked in pretty hard - I often skip using my true holds because they just aren't needed.
great example of YMMV. I will admit that current Domination doesn't provide a lot of benefit in terms of blue bar refresh for the elec/elec dom. The mez protection and hold boost remain just as nice as ever, though. -
Quote:I haven't minded it because I have logged into a 50, respec'd it, handled any reslotting, and then used the Incarnate arc as a bit of a stress test - arachnos, council, rikti, crey, some EBs.... by the end of the arc I have a good feel on where the respec/inherent changes leave the character. As someone with altitis (and enjoys switching frequently between toons) I found it very time consuming with the new Stamina set up.
But the biggest chore is the Alpha slot. So many of my toons are 50s that I thought I would enjoy this. But running the same arc over and over for so many of them? Sheesh.
To me this has all just increased the grind factor and lowered the fun factor. X 20.
When that gets old (every 2 or 3) I jump on a sub-50 alt for a bit. -
Quote:Now that you mention it, I think my weekend oddity was noticing CoT not jumping into the fray while running tips on a corr.Have experienced weird npc AI on my SS/Inv Brute and WP/DM Tanker whilst running CoT missions. If I jump into a spawn with a mix of Demons, Guides and Casters and taunt the group, the Casters will fire off an initial attack then will proceed to just stand there doing nothing until I physically attack them. My taunt auras don't seem to have any effect either, and this has nothing to do with the aggro cap, because I've experienced this with only a group of 2-3 critters. It's always the Casters that stop attacking.
Nord, are you saying that only Bosses can 'port? If so, that's news to me but may explain some of what I encountered. I'll have to test that. I don't remember noticing any difference in the past (boss vs. Lt), but Malta arcs are something I normally find a way to bypass with most characters. -
Quote:My experience so far actually says - turn off travel powers. Suppression is what will kill you.... turn on sprint and dance around all you want. Punch-Punch, move, taunt. Blue Flames aren't an issue. (Unless you dodge out of one into another. That hurts. Watch where you are going.)The only things that will help you with the blue flames are Max HP and Movement Speed. Something to be careful of are attacks with long animation times. Use those carefully or not at all.
Oh, I heard this piece of advice that seemed pretty good:
Quote:Run out of the blue flames!
Then you're doing it wrong. -
I do not remember the specifics but some play over the weekend had me thinking "that is unusual" during play, but I did not pay enough attention and do not remember the specifics
Then last night, while waiting for an ITF to fill I went over to tease the Romans on the wall. I had not done that in a while, and I thought it was odd that they didn't have their powers pre-triggered and ready, as they had last time I'd been there. I was on an ice/ blaster and also noted that I was able to hit them with a basic [Freeze Ray] and hold them, which certainly seemed strange. Then during the ITF, [Freeze Ray] continued to work in the middle of battles when normally I remember mez resistance being a notable trait, but only periodically - as if sometimes they had their resist running and sometimes they didn't. Strange. I moved on...
...to a tank I solo x8 on, looking forward to some shards and other goodies. The mission was Malta and relatively painless only gunslinger after gunslinger after gunslinger and not a single teleport. Not one.
Anyone else seeing AI activity that makes them go 'huh?' or is it just me? Or did I just miss a change in a patch (a quick search didn't reveal anything to me, but my search fu may be debuffed by my coffee level being too low). -
Nice summary all in responding to irrevocably limited and inaccurate information.

Last night I finished an old novel by Clifford D. Simak, The City, that I am going to have to mentally chew on a bit. Very uneven, but some interesting concepts.
I just read The Scar by China Mieville a couple months ago, and I was considering a re-read since it is so dense with excellent writing. That or I have 2-3 on the "next up" shelf - but I forget what they are atm. Or I have about 1,000 other re-read potentials in my library. I look forward to the recommendations here (though I am sure my wife doesn't).
Quote:A good book, that made a nice template for a D&D session we ran back in the day, only with a real demon cult in the basement.Just finished reading The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. Excellent, though by no means a quick read - I found myself chewing on the details quite a bit, though in a good way.
(An interesting movie too (Connery in an atypical role), though, it clearly cut down on the content a lot.) -
[Death Shroud] would be the damage/taunt aura on Dark Armor.
End is the traditional bugaboo for Dark Armor, regardless of AT, but as you point out IOs offer a range of solutions.
[Cloak of Darkness] does offer some stealth, but in my experience as a Dark/ tank holding aggro with CoD running is a non-issue.
On Brutes more specifically, the normal avoidance is that [Cloak of Fear] and [Oppresive Gloom] both offer mitigation that hurts Fury by limiting attacks against you. -
Soooo close to the last badge, but was a fun, smooth run regardless.

Sounds like old PI (pre-AE), but it was generally 1M a level, paid in advance and made me switch tabs when running missions in PI to avoid the static. There were also constant PMs for level bridges before Super-SK to the PLers could get the most from their money.
Crazy that anyone is paying for the privilege now, but... hey, as long as they're having fun. I guess. -
-
I had never heard of Faces of the City before this. I just wasted some work time reading.
Outstanding stuff. -
She gets a huge buff after Neuron dies. Pain follows.
-
I can shoot to be there on Inflyct, Dark/Cold/Soul Corr.
Uncommon is slotted. -
*shrug* when I log into my Virtue vills I can get on a team easily. It is, as it has always been, knowing who is out there - coalition, globals, VG/SG, what have you.

Quote:It is gaining popularity in the US again. There are informal leagues popping up in communities. Our town is on the verge of building a pitch for the communityNice find - I've bookmarked that to show other American friends - cricket used to be as popular in the US as baseball til the turn of the 20th Century and there are big moves afoot to reintroduce it to the USA. It'll inevitably become globally much more popular very quickly because this year China stated its intention to become a Test playing nation within 10 years which will put cricket up there with soccer as global sports
Which means we could get a cricket bat as a club in game!
All the Indian immigration/workers has been raising its visibility, and some US troops are bringing back more awareness from Afghanistan.
I watched some on business travel in India a few times, and on vacation in Jamaica some years ago. Seems a fun game. -
Quote:If the reticle switched to blue... if you were at reange you needed to move closer, click on him, and he will talk to you and the dialogue will complete the mission.clicking, tabbing no difference, I could select him and watch his heath but I couldn't attack.
It sounds to me like you won, and then quit. -
Quote:sorry, to clarify slightly... I've been on one that failed. That's every CoP. If it's going to finish, it's going to finish fast. If you're still trying to take down the pillars at the 30 minute mark, you might as well just call it and go do something more constructive.
Some done lickity split, some that have had to back up, take a deep breath and dive in again. The level of coordination and timing is intense compared to a lot of the rest of the game.
Regardless, I understand the complaint regarding a lack of drops. But I also understand why there aren't any (length if successful and the farmability of it). -
You have the right strategy, and keep the build.
Done him on both and Invul/ and and Elec/ and the plan was the same both times. And a pocket emp/ until the red tower is down doesn't hurt. -
Quote:*shrug* I've been on CoP's that take longer to form than to complete.Like hell it is. The folks I run with can steamroller an ITF in around an hour, give or take. And thats with us messing around from time to time a- SCRAPPERLOCK!
*ahem*
CoP? First one I tried we got done over time and again because one obelisk refused to fall. And then when we got to the Aspect? Barely scratched him.
As it is, I'm more than happy to simply craft Rularuu bits from Shards, because, for me, the CoP ain't worth my time and lack of fun. -
Quote:Oh, I recognize that. And find the lack of any rewards annoying (and I wonder if it is indicative of a direction for future trials). The point is that the spawns in the CoP are summoned Mobs, similar to Rikti Portals or Death Shaman pets, and don't give any rewards so throwing in a few shards at the end wouldn't be all that unfair.
However, it is one of the fastest ways to get a component when well run, so my heart isn't broken if shards aren't added. -

Quote:The Alpha bonus contributes to the benefit of any power that can be enhanced, so while it does not directly affect [Domination] it can benefit [Hasten]... so it will affect the final recharge some. Just not a lot.As title says, does anyone have a definitive answer on whether the Spiritual tree that increases recharge effects the dominator's inherent power, Domination.
edit: I should have read all the way down the thread, I see now this was already mentioned. *slinks away to drink more coffee*
