I would argue it is cyclical - was dead at the time until Star Wars first hit and revitalized Star Trek et al... And I'd say that at present in film superheroes seem to be leading the pack in terms of the 'sci-fi-ish' film work.

But, I don't have to. Looking at recent history, did you forget Avatar - one of the biggest films of all time? 'Cowboys and Aliens' coming. 'Invasion: LA' (or whatever its called) coming. 'V' running on TV now... new BSG in development...

    dead? not hardly

And moving to different mediums - some excellent sci-fi novels out at present.

ah, vanguard... yeah, I saw v-merits and thought Villain Merits.

thought maybe he meant one of the others and mis-typed. And my caffeine had clearly not kicked in. My post (in my head) read:

Villain Merits do not drop. Do you mean Tips (since you mention them later in the post), or Shards perhaps?
I guess I've just never called vanguard merits v-merits.

To more directly address the OP: I haven't run a lot of Borea or other content recently, but my elec/ tank likes rikti... I didn't notice any oddities in drops the last time he took a spin. I'll try to take him out and check.
  3. A little confused.
    V-merit?? Tips? shards?

but it's not... maybe a few select items, but overall? beyond a few skewed commons, nope, I'm not buying it.

Yep, and if a couple of you are incarnate level shifted... not even that much longer.
  6. I almost always forget to check this until too late...

If any need for alternates pops up, I'll be around.

Maybe some hyperbole because I was reading more snark than your response here implies was true. My apologies if I was wrong in my interpretation.

(for the record: I am also underwhelmed by the initial implementation, but put on my patience belt. round two better show improvement. )

Because the first baby step in what may be a rolling implementation clearly spells 'DOOM'

And that's not even considering the 3 body types as well.

It just sounds more impressive marketing-wise to say 60 costume pieces than just 5 outfits.
    Right, I got that...

but 5 heads, feet, couple tails,... 60 still sounds like a lot in a single pack (do we know the totals from previous packs?). a lot and cool

    I liked the old defiance.
    I love the new.
  11. Wouldn't the easiest approach be to allow monstrous feet without the monstrous upper legs? I'm unclear why that isn't an option for us...
  12. nice trailer

    the costumes look good

I also wonder if that 60 costume items comment is right...

    my money is ready...

  14. It does appear to be the partials only.
That was a surprise to me too, but one I caught in time.

Not sure I understand the design intent... but there it is.
  15. It was Gargoyle for me... back in his days with the Defenders... great, undeveloped character before they mangled him in comic-foolery.

that actually began my slide out of comics...
  16. sincerely - very nice gesture that is much appreciated.

However, releasing the beast pack now would have been preferred to skiing that I skipped this year once already.
  17. I am disturbed on so many levels with what is going on in this video...

(great use of the red light saber effect tho)

This I'd put in the 99.9999% chance category.

Not without a lot of work to adjust some drop rates - this would drive prices sky high if a bunch of new sets showed up to water down what can drop. (And while we are at it, a new mix of set bonuses on them would be nice.)

I'm all for proliferation. However, at a guess, with everything else coming down the pike for 50s, I'd say anything for new characters is likely to get lower priority in the near.

That would be a significant undertaking, and unlikely with all the apparent incarnate content queued up. That said, it is a zone that needs a serious rework - not least because of the return of the 5th...

see the striga comments above... would be great to get more praetoria/faultline style zone content, but I'm not holding my breath.

EDIT: and my list? not drastically different than anything posted here

And I try to make the supplement to that: "The Dark Servants must go first."

The to-hit debuff they put out is nasty, and if the spawn has more than one Master.... ick. You squeeze whiff-whiff-whiff into your attack chain pretty fast.

    Animal pack ?

technically its a rumor, but it is a strong rumor.

we have images from the devs of dog/wolf head, cat heat, bird head, bird feet, dragon feet, and demo edit version of the coming beast run from players...

There are multiple threads, all over the place about it.
  24. I just get out of Atlas ASAP - essentially start in Galaxy or Praetoria
  25. Just went to log in and goof off before the maintenance (since I mis-read the start time)... and I'm getting a patch?
