Quote:Yeah, herein lies my problem. The story feels forced and the method of gating it disconnected from the rest of what has happened. It feels like a different game/story.As to the Incarnate Content, I'll say I like Issue 20. However, I hope they don't forget the rest of the storylines they've left hanging for years. Praetoria isn't the only threat in this game.
It isn't drop rates, or anything else for me. It feels wrong/different from everything I've comfortably played for years now.
That's all, but that's a lot.
I am glad it works and feels great to some, and power to them... but. For me it is sad-making. -
Quote:Wow.Now, the game is catering to someone ELSE'S playstyle, and you're being told in turn to stop complaining because the game is just now providing what THEY'VE wanted for 6 1/2 years.
How's it feel?
So off base, and so... just wow.
edit:
do I PvP? no. do I feel bad that the PvPers are unhappy? yes
am I huge base editor? no. have I felt bad that there isn't more done for that? yes
did I have high hopes for AE that were left wanting? yes. do I laugh point fingers, and get huffy at AE only farmers? nope -
Just popped it into my Amazon wish list, and it will be on my next round of ordering. Thanks
(Looks like only hardcover atm.) -
Quote:I am glad you didn't. That convinces me my initial impression of the OP was incorrect.Ya know, I was originally going to make a totally different post that was a lot more mean spirited.
Quote:I don't know about you and others like you, but I'm actually trying to come up with improvement, solutions, and possible fixes to improve PvP in this game. Do any of you have anything positive to add here?
You have explained it since, but anyone coming in late is likely hitting the reply button without having read down to your later explanation - more than likely with exactly the same reaction I admit that I had at first.
The answer seems pretty clearly to be, "No, no one that we know of has asked a Dev, nor had it seemingly occurred to anyone else to even do so." -

Quote:Yes, right with you, Graystar. My stable has been reduced to 2-3 that I may play for incarnate stuff, and the progress of my sub-50s has ground to a halt.Did the new stuff as fun as it has been kill some of your alts also?
But it is worse than that for me...
In fact, I am playing less and less all the time primarily because what is coming doesn't feel particularly exciting and while I know my character is stronger I don't feel like the character is any more super. I know it has been debated to death, so I won't go down that path... but I can easily see myself letting my sub lapse, and that never even occurred to me prior to incarnate introduction (which I was psyched about).
Right or wrong, it feels like the game itself is changing. And my perception is that the change is into something I do not want to play... -
Quote:fixed that for you.I don't think that thought changes, because one is an alien and one is a god.
I think what changes, is one's view of basically coming down to...marketing.
The last thing they wanted was any hullabaloo from the conservative religious concerned Hollywood watchers on a block buster targeted film.

Quote:Because the pets are not "real" pets - they're the essence of defeated Incarnate-empowered enemies that you draw from the Well, so only Incarnate-empowered enemies would be available to you - and so far, the only Incarnate-empowered enemies we've fought have been the Praetorians.
It is weak and doesn't solve any of my general dissatisfaction, but it is an explanation that loosely hangs together. Thank you. -

I'm fine with the Well, it fits the milieu of supers as defined with CoX. Then Praetoria offers an immediate path to apply our new found gifts.
Also, fine (though I do understand the kneejerk "story nazi" perspective against it).
However, I dislike the Lore slot as it has been presented. It makes no sense and is 'immersion breaking' for me. It contradicts my understanding of the presentation of the Incarnate path the game has set before me. If the Well provides the power... why do I gain this one ability seemingly from Praetoria?
Is it worth delaying the whole thing? No. Too much is relying on these introductions for too many. My opinions and hang ups should not limit the excitement and opportunity for everyone else.
But then again, the introduction of Incarnates and the seeming direction of all this 'wonderful end game' is leading me to play less and less anyway (the opposite of my expectations), so maybe I'm just a curmudgeon.
(hmmm, I wonder if that name is available...) -
Sick of reboots of bad and borderline movies hoping to be good the next time. Really unfond of good movies being redone just to try and cash in a second time. "Blade Runner" firmly in the second category and I for one am not interested in it being re-done.
And...
I'll grant tastes differ and all, but I cannot imagine at all were this opinion comes from.

I remember my Grav/Ice being quite a bit of fun, but he doesn't get out much since I found Elec/Elec...

Quote:Golden Girl's comments are almost exactly what I was going to post. Objective Feedback: The download went vert fast, and I had no problems with the install, or with updating the Test and Beta servers.
Subjective FeedbackThe launcher looks rather nice - it even has a color scheme that's shades of gray
I like the way there's more info and links with it too.
One thing I'm not sure about is if this is going to totally replace the current updater or not? Because I was still getting the updater appearing after I started the game via the new launcher.
Quick, clean download and install. I like the interface.
Odd that the old launcher still fires off. -

Quote:Nope, no lie. I logged in at 6:40ish central time before heading off to work. Sight was up and animal pack was listed. I purchased it and have the confirmation email on my phone in front of me right now.Not unless you're a very good liar, heh. I checked in before it went down for maintenance and the pack wasn't up yet. It's been down since then.

Heh I snuck in this morning when I woke up and got my code.

right next to the exit portal on the prevent 30 fir bolg from escaping mission in Croatoa....

I found "we have made some changes in the past that didn't end up the way we wanted them to." to be an incredible step forward in discussing PvP on their part...
but you can dog on them if you wish. -

I'll try to be there.
Most likely on Inflyct, my dark/cold corr, but I have a range of characters available depending on need. -
Really, it is unreasonable to expect them to be equal to the crafting cost... and I am fine with that.
I wish you got 2 shards per component, a 50% penalty makes way more sense to me.
