pool power. couldn't repeated fast enough 10 times otherwise.

This may sound like a joke, but I'm serious. There was a remark a ways back about the devs trying to design some of the new challenges with the more "situational" (read: often skipped and lampooned!) powers in mind. Curious as to how far they'll go.
In Beta at one point we had some success with a high-stealth (or stalker) with super speed finding a crate and then team porting everyone in hot at the location where they focus on the crate.

the stealther moves on, finds a new location, and then hot ports the team as soon as they've cleared the object to the new location.

was not tried enough to offer a judgement of its efficacy, but it is a strategy to consider.

Truth... but I look forward to there being more variety in our gameplay options for our incarnates.

    Yep, yep.

I've found blackstar nuke's -to-hit to be useful. Sleet's KD is handy. Other similar powers are just excellent.
  5. My first runs on the beta server I hated both Lambda and BAF.

Subsequent attempts, a little better understanding, and I grugdingly hated BAF and grudgingly accepted Lambda.

Now we find ourselves live, and that assessment has not changed.

I have a passionate dislike for BAF... there is no meaningful way to control the adds at the end and unless you work fast or have plenty of soft control to limit the 9CUs the league gets overwhelmed and once that happens I do not see a way to overcome (but maybe I'm still missing something).

Lambda has strategy and action to control the final phase that a team can exercise and earn success. I like that.

BAF you have to brute force a solution - as far as I can tell so far. And that feels icky, a bit. *shrug*

Considering you can get an Astral Merit from the BAF for more or less just defeating a single AV, there's a huge imbalance there.

It feels like it should be lowered to 5 Grenades, 5 Acids, 5 Cooperation Bonuses, or something similar.
No, I do not believe it is.

    Four live runs; 1 success.
Teams of 8 (twice), 12, & 16 (straight queue pug and formed teams). I don't think we failed to get all the grenades ever. I received many Astral merits, and the emp; Interface unlocked and slotted at the first level.
  7. I think the raids are fine overall, but I completely agree with this sentiment:

I know I want non-trial, solo or normal team incarnate content. And I want it to be challenging and push me to the limit.
  8. It is an issue of quantity...

I've had the occasional drop on various characters, but I have one that whenever I log in finds himself solo at +0/x8... he doesn't 'farm' but anything he runs that's the setting and he is my leader in purple drops easily, despite not even hitting 50 until considerably after the purples were introduced.

Assuming your friend plays similarly - more solo than team and at a high multiple player setting.... then the RNG hates him and I recommend a sacrifice on an altar of dice.

Yeah, that was a bit over played. Both because we have such a vast first hand knowledge of conditions elsewhere in our galaxy. And second, because it is hard to believe that a civilization could become so dependant on liquid water if it was so incredibly uncommon...
  10. Yes, all markets are one.
  11. Hmmm, I have a couple concepts that I could finally firm up to take advantage of this idea.... I'll be in touch.

Call me bitter, but the content after GR has gone from bad to worse. Stacking spawns on top of stacking spawns. I remember when things like this were considdered a bug!
8 man PUG yesterday and we had Marauder down to 33% health or so when time expired.

    Tough? Yes. Doable? Also, yes.

The key is the acid temp powers - all you can get. And then work the courtyard spawn of more acid as needed. The learning curve on getting everyone to understand the requirements will be ongoing for a little while.

(note: Try doing it with no level shifted league members. Now that is brutal.)

(And note: completing the trial without ever using any acid is a requirement for the MoLambda. ouch.)
  13. I would support #3.

#2 /unsigned. I've put plenty of "reasonable" prices up and still had to wait longer than week(s) for a bid from someone not trying to grab something on the cheap/sly.

#1 /unsigned. The last thing we need is all the snarking global and private messaging that would result. The offers and bids are what they are. The prices that show up are the ones that were paid. If you cannot or will not pay that... there are plenty of other ways to get what you want. Alignment merits in particular have radically changed the acquisition of recipes that are desired.

I'd second Footfall, though the intelligent alien elephants probably wouldn't be particularly excepted as other than campy.
  15. Can't say it has the greatest synergy, but my grav/ice was my first dom to 50 and plenty of fun.
  16. Late to the discussion, but put me in the "it delivered what it promised" category. Not aspiring to Oscar level film making, but a solid alien-war movie. Fun and enjoyable despite the over used wobble camera and hitting every cliche in the great-big-book-of-war-movie-cliches.

However, the one thing that tripped me up thinking through the scenario and my suspension of disbelief.... where the heck were our nukes. I know I'd be jumping up and down saying "what is a few cities, we're talking the human race here! nuke 'em, nuke 'em!" somebody somewhere would have tried it....

I enjoy tanks, but can't pick a favorite... probably dark armor, but no preference on the secondary

but anything is fun on any given day in Paragon...
  18. My elec/ is the only tank I've taken against her, and she slices him apart like he's a level 1 blaster. Even hover taunting, her range shot wipes me in a couple of hits. I always feel awful about it.

So, I make sure I have purples ready to go and tip the buffers handsomely.

note: never tried it when she wasn't buffed, someone on the team always wants the badge...

Almost tempted to get this just because even though i haven't played the game in years and years.
Same, though my binding collapsed and I had to put the thing into a binder ages (10-15 years) ago.

Some of the longest and best campaigns of any RPG I ever played were with that original release. Good times.

It's that kind of noise that's really annoying and even worse it's the kind of falsehood, among others, that just gets repeated again and again and again.
Not that it particularly has anything to do with my personal I20/end-game concerns, but having participated in all three of your examples...

I do take your point, and it is likely the best comparison, but I'm still not sure it is a good comparison between BAF and Lambda with a prevalence of incarnate contribution in beta sneak and CoP on Live with more limited abilities available.

That aside, and in contrast, I've only been part of one failed CoP after several runs, and have never run it post incarnates so I imagine it is certainly a different animal now. Now while that personal CoP experience gets back to your solid coordination and leadership points a few posts ago, , I would say that in no way do I think CoP is harder.

There is another category of folks (based on anecdotal rumor and vague of facts of indeterminate nature) of those that have been testing for some time and are bound to refrain from stating their opinions fully...

You know, if I had written in the alignment system, I would have done it exactly like you suggest, too. I was disappointed, but short of having to re-write all the arcs to put action choices in them I lived with the compromise on that one.

Ah, see I wish that was true. Being part of the raid/trial mob doesn't make me giddy with my sense of power. I've always gotten more out of beating Recluse as an EB than I have on Hami as a personal sense of accomplishment, regardless of the related reward.

Yeah. Then we are 100% agreed. And I doubt anything will change for a long time. I discuss it because I care and have loved the game.

    We can agree there.
Just my patience to wait for that will be long exhausted by the time that happens. And I firmly believe it could have been implemented better in terms of the lore/story links related to the mechanic. I expected more.

I'd like to think I'm not being hysterical. but my level of disappoint with this is a first through all releases and changes since I7 (about when i started). It really is likely to shove me out the door.

And I am sad about that.
