Hopefully, the writers will remember and at least mention/hand wave that storyline at some point in the next 6 arcs.
Could also be that as an entirely different spell, it may need a specifically designed counter and the two stories subsequently don't relate.
  2. So, I'm playing along with my villain and two things occur to me.

One, the obelisk is gonna drain synapse and give the power to the igneous... so I start laughing when I picture that planning meeting of all the big rocks saying "yes, speed boost, plz".

Two, I wish there was an igneous badge...

back to exploring to find this obelisk.
  3. After exercising what little search fu I have, I did not find another mention of this blog post by Positron.

    Interesting read.
Not sure if this is the best forum section for this, but there it is.
  4. Looking forward to trying these out tonight.

(Re: the exemplar 'complaint', I get that everyone has their own play style/preference... but I just can't imagine why exemping is so bad. I was doing missions at that level [whatever that level may be] on the character on their way up the level ladder and I run low level TF periodically with any character, it just isn't that 'abnormal' to me.)

TV learned the lesson of 'Moonlighting' a long time ago, and I don't think anyone has ever made that mistake since.

    ???/energy aura

Thematically, I really like KM/ with energy aura. Toss atomic costume aura on it too, and I think it is the true "so pretty, so strong" of EA.

For synergy, I'd probably lean towards DM.
  11. Electric Armor would be a fine selection if you haven't played it. Of my tanks, my Elec/ is my favorite. (Grounded takes some getting used to.)

I had also been thinking of an SR/StJ tank. I don't particularly like repeating sets and I've played /SR on a scrapper, but on paper is seems like they will go well together thematically.

I beta'd a StJ/Reg Brute, which helped with the mentioned end issues (similar to WP). Between the combos and regen's normal clickiness, though I decided against it for Live. WP wouldn't have the same issue.

Energy Aura is also good, but just finished leveling a brute with it, so don't want to repeat so soon - besides that just looks too spiffy with Kin Melee...
  12. I have been soooo beating my head against this wall.

I was resetting my master account rather than my game account.

Thank you for posting these directions to help me find what I was doing wrong.

A friend has asked for help with their build. They have a tanker at level 44, with Dark Armour and Dual Blades (!!!). It was a mess: fell over (no weave or tough) and lost endurance like a sieve. So I did some research and found the wonderful links from Jordan's Town and Jebe to start with in the build guides, for DA. I'm no build guru!

The build works, mostly. Yes DA and DB not very synergistic. But Defense seems a lot better; and endurance kind of manageable (sinks sometimes too fast: DB is QUICK). But still loses endurance too fast. May get better at 47 when sets can be slotted; and at Alpha when that can be slotted, I guess.

Add I think tank Da/DB is not an ideal tank, but my friend really wants this to be viable to run well, not necessarily awesomely!

Is it possible to get this build useful to just fight non-stop, maybe at +1 or +2 diff?

    Yes, it is possible.

I have a 50 DA/DB that I love (even if I regret the /DB choice at times). It was durable pre-Incarnate, and it started to be giddy in love with life with Cardiac Alpha. DA/ is a great selection for layered mitigation: enough def to matter even if not soft-capped, nice resists, and the stun/fear reduces the volume of attacks. Kick in the KD in some of the /DB attacks, and the mitigation goes up further.

The basic SO slotting listed is probably close to best possible.

I am no where near my home computer, so I can't even run Titan Sentinel to grab my current build (which is due for an I21 respec). Some thoughts/memories off the top of my head:
    • The basic keys to "fight non-stop" are the standard dark armor issues, and the usual quick answers apply: Theft of Essence proc in Dark Regen, Numina unique, Miracle unique, & perf shifter proc.
    • I am pretty sure I only took 6 from my secondary... Taunt, enough attacks for two combos (with two of those attacks overlapped in those combos), and One Thousand Cuts. My recharge is such that I can keep attacking steadily with those selections (even without hasten).
    • I know I skipped Focused Accuracy because it was a end draining beast.
    • I did fit in Combat Jumping as it is end cheap, and useful for the small def bonus
  15. I like the goldenrod, myself, but I am sensitive to the colorblind issue so can back an effort to make a change for the greater good.

    A quality DR/Samuraiko offering.

    Well done.
  17. How about that newbie Council that shows up conning grey in higher level spawns.

Poor guy is all excited about his work training rotation with the superior squads, and "pow" heroes he can't even hit or dodge show up.

I knew what you were doing. And when I read it, I read it as teleportation - it certainly could be canon for that. But I'll leave it alone, as long as you are comfortable with busting their chops.
  19. This is all starting to sound like the Dark Knight pre-buzz kill with Heath and everything else... and we know how that turned out.

I think I'm just gonna quit paying attention to all the talk about the movie and just enjoy it when it comes out for what it is.
  20. Not every one with 'powers' is comfortable with them - with the effects or their physical manifestation. Some do not like the stares, the whispered comments, or the outright revulsion.

The sewers were cool, and dark. And quiet. Here, under the streets and buildings of Galaxy City, he had lived in relative happiness.
Sure, from time to time other heroes blew through, tearing up the place and clearing the tunnels of 'the riff-raff'. And the Vazh needed to be confronted and kept controlled, but it was on the whole quiet. Relaxing even. Safe.

But this, this was different. Entire sections of the sewers had collapsed from above. Strange creatures were wandering in the tunnels, or climbing up from the deep holes to the surface. The waters were blocked, and were backing up in some places - in others, floors had gone dry. Fires were burning in places, the hazy smoke choking off visibility and air. The tunnels echoed with the sounds of further collapses, distance screams, and violents thuds and impacts that continued from the surface.

It was time, like it or not. He had to know what was going on, and to get help with the violent creatues he had encountered - glowing in oranges and reds and purples, with segments of concrete and steel in their gelationous forms. He found one of the impact points, sunlight glinting through the smoke at its top and hovered on his leathery wings, slowly rising to the surface.

Apprehension gripped him. He had not been to the surface, out in the city for... years. Leathery wings, slimy wet skin, and boils... no he wasn't one of the pretty boys in tights. And then, when people realized that was radiation and toxic poison he emitted... yeah, they couldn't get away fast enough. He stopped, he wings snapping in the air and sending the smoke swirling away, just below the sidewalk level, out of sight of anyone nearby. He had to know... He rose.

The city was shattered. Worse, maybe, then the sewers below. Smoke, rubble, shattered buildings,... corpses. Helicopters echoed in the distance - reporters or rescuers he did not know. Shouts and screams, gunfire, and booming cries of the monsters in the distance. Another shout, a cry from help from nearby, pierced the noise.

One of the many heroic statues lay shattered across the street, broken and thrown from the impact of the hole he had exited. A large masked head lay on a car. It was from there that shouts were coming. He could see movement, someone struggling to get out.

Before he realized it, he had flow over. A face in the car - panicked and scared. "Help me! Help! I'm trapped!" He motioned the person to move away, and then used a light blast of energy to peel the jammed door open, pulling it aside the person jumped/fell from the vehicle coughing and sobbing. The disheveled face turned towards him, pale blue yese held only relief and gratitude, "Thank you." The victim climbed to their feet and ran away before he could say anything. Hopefully towards assistance, but he had no idea what was going on, where relief was organized, or...
Another shout, coming from... there! The rubble of the front of the what used to be a grocery store.

    ...

    "Thank you!"

"What would we have done without you?"

    "You are angel."

"Have you seen my husband? He left for work just before..."

"We wouldn't have made it without you."

"There is someone else just a bit futher pack in the rubble."

    "Thank you."

    ...

The day had been long. He was tired. Exhausted.

    But he felt... good.

He knew he had made a difference. It may have been small in the grand scheme of things, but it was huge for those individuals that he helped. And none of them had worried about how he looked or the nature of his abilities.

Maybe, just maybe he'd stay above ground for a while, and try to help protect the rest of the city from having to experience this. Maybe now was the time to get out there, and make a difference.

((Fetyd is a rad/poison corruptor, boils aura, and just not a pretty sight. But he has chosen the hero's path... and will be on the streets, looking to contribute to the safety of the city.))

    No.

StJ/ is not part of I21.

It is planned as one of the period weekly or bi-weekly market releases.

Expect it sometime after I21, but I'd guess* before 2012.
