Quote:I feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of physicists suddenly cried out "doh!" at once.Mostly confirmed. A higher accuracy measurement still sees the neutrinos as faster than light, and for the time being, it's the best explanation, but it still needs an outside confirmation.
Still, superluminal neutrinos? The possibility is looking better and better. -
Quote:That's too bad.
I think it's correct that you were not "supposed" to be able to stack the tuxedos with back options. But it's obviously been possible... I'm actually surprised that your costume would have been automatically 'corrected'. Usually when they make changes to the costume editor, it only takes effect on your character if you visit a tailor with that costume.
So it's curious that the wings just went poof from one day to the next. Are you sure you didn't recently edit your costume and didn't notice if your wings were still there?
Unless something with costumes in the background is getting cleaned up for coming changes.
We've seen backbacks begin to be introduced...
Noble Savage has hinted that asymmetrical costumes are coming... -
Quote:Could be two Astrals, I certainly wouldn't pretend to know what would be truly balanced. If the reward is just that for the arc, I might as well start a baf or lam, run it for a few minutes then quit mid-way, or simply run UG up to the lichen AV then quit after defeating it. The amount of threads I get in that time is equal to or greater than such a reward.
Ofcourse I completely expect that to be EXACTLY what the reward is.
I guess I would expect some other unique reward in such a zone too, but I certainly think that eMerits would stay tied to trials. -
I'd love an incarnate only zone, with story arcs that allow level shift and have higher level / more challenging opponents as a result. Threads drop. No reward merits - an astral for arc completion. Leave eMerits for the trials. You can solo or team up to 8 normally. EBs are either really tough, or cannot downshift from AV.
That said, I don't expect it.
And frankly, I'm more interested in what they are sharing about asymmetrical costumes - per Noble Savage's tease. -
Quote:I liked Norton's Banner. They really should have given Edward Norton what he wanted to reprise his role...
I think Norton was a bit of jerk to Marvel about it.
I'm fine with Marvel sticking to their guns and making the change.
I hope the new guy does fine - but man will it be hard to stand out with that cast. -

Quote:Don't forget Morgan from episode one.Yeah I don't really mind if Sophia's dead and/or zombified. I wouldn't even really mind if her fate was particularly gruesome or depraved. And I don't even mind if the rest of the group doesn't directly find out what happened to her. I just think at a bare minimum the -audience- eventually needs to be told what happened to her.
I would find it rather odd if they just left us hanging with an unresolved big mystery that's pretty much been the main thread of this entire season of shows. We already have Merle as the "question mark" character whose fate is currently a mystery - we really don't need that to happen to yet another character. -
Quote:The idea had flitted across my mind, and I rejected for the same reasons. That and the connection wouldn't be there. Now, though,... If she doesn't turn up soon, I'll start to expect it. (Which could be intentional on the part of the producers.)I think I was thinking the same thing and if I'm right about us thinking the same thing then I doubt AMC will do it, which is why I didn't say anything. The idea is just too sick for TV.
The other option is they give up hunting, and her absence haunts them for a long time as a barb to poke their conscience regularly. -

Quote:I'd say some of the gunslinger models looks like output from that thread. So BABs makes a thread about new pistol models before Dual Pistols is released, leaves, no-one ever looks at the thread, we continually request new custom pistols, and a year and a half after the fact... We get an extremely rare pistol drop from a specific raid. And it's not even all that good.

Is it clear that it is a costume drop or a temp power?
As a costume drop, why even bother with a 1/100 chance to get a drop on a limited number of AT and powersets that could use it. Even if they can auction it.
If a temp power, then the DP characters that have wanted this may be disappointed that they can't have it for their costumes.
Seems like a lose/lose approach. -
'fraid not. the [wolf pet] no longer pulls up any info....

After giving the latest episode more thought, I have realized an awful lot happened in disguise of nothing happening.
We learned a lot about where Shane is at. Sure, speculation and interpretation were out there, but he flat out told Lori where his loyalties lay and all but told her that he had abandoned Otis.... In some ways Shane's presence in the story on TV embodies Rick's divided and developing sensibility in the comic. I hope Shane doesn't stay around so long that Rick never develops that backbone...
Sophia... OK, nothing happened with Sophia (mumble grumble).
I have come to very much appreciate Daryl's character. The 'vision' of his brother motivating him to overcome is rote, but it was effectively done. And the exchanges defined a lot of surmised off-screen character/backstory for Daryl into a firmer understanding. I liked it.
I hate Lori, I like Lori, I hate Lori, I like Lori, I want to feed her to a horde... She had a great line telling Shane that his 'making the hard choices" is really just taking the easy option. So true. Other than that, she annoys me as much as she did in print.
Glenn and Maggie's exchanges were awkwardly carried off, but I thought they still managed to convey an exuberant spirit of 'found' desire after the end of the world.

==Mild spoiler alert if you haven't read the comic. I tried to be vague. I failed.==
======
First real hints were there of Andrea and Dale.
I re-read a section of the Farm a couple of days ago, trying to pin down my memories of how Otis fit in the written story. It is interesting how his role in the show has become so crucial and moving, yet his absence come barn time will be noted (actually the entire household seems smaller on TV, which make events... much different).
I had been anticipating the reveal of the barn for the entire season. I was disappointed and pleased all at once. In reading the comic, the barn seemed to be the only symbol of hope to that point (keeping in mind that the CDC never happened in the comic... the subdivision was pre or post farm? that was the other symbol of misplaced hope pre-prison).
It may be misplaced, but the barn is Herschel's firm hope that his friends and family will come back to him someday. That hope is so strong that he keeps them (even if prudently locked away for saftey). It is so poignant and ultimately tragic. But my sub-title to the story has always been "The Walking Dead: Where No One Gets to be Happy". -
Quote:OK, so because his build is good... it doesn't count? Do you do the same when judging every other defense set? Seems... well silly.Personally, I think one change and one change only would make Dark Armor a far more viable set, even for tankers - and don't point me to that one video of a Dark Armor tank that is listed in the owner's sig because we all know he is defense softcapped...
Quote:Cut the heal and end cost of Dark Regeneration in half. That's it. Oppressive Gloom can cause a person to use Dark Regen more often in certain situations and builds dependent on level and slotting if you think about it.
DA is fine. Better than fine. And that comes from th experiencing of leveling my first two DA characters pre-IOs.
With IOs, my heal makes me giggle when I use it more to gain end than health (thank to the +end proc). Drop a cardiac Alpha in there... and my DA characters are on auto pilot.
Look every set needs it's quirks and differences. And DA shines just fine without being turned into another number crunchers dream.
edit: and I'd +1 Uberguy's posts (and Arcanaville's) if I could... -
Quote:I am interpreting that as they decided to use the farm as the anchor, and not move much beyond that in this season, at the same time that they upped the season to 12 episodes... So, suddenly we need to stretch things out a bit - Carl, Sophia, etc. It is a tad annoying.Unfortunately, season 2 has been a little weak so far. Most of the episodes feel like filler, and the writing seems to be wandering without any real kind of direction in terms of plot. I really wish they'd get back on track. More action, please.
edit: Bonus points to my daughter who hasn't read the comic, but guessed the significance of the barn on her own as Glenn walked towards it. -
Right there with you.
I dislike the pre-tinting, and I find I am actually choosing not to use some of the new pieces that I was previously excited about. Unless I am using them with other new pre-tinted pieces they make my costumes look haphazard. -
-
If realized, hopefully the ToT season wouldn't alter the user experience too much...

Quote:Late blooming geek, perhaps?I'm glad people here know what it referenced. I have a coworker who is a fellow geek but I have to question it because I found out he hadn't seen Labyrinth OR Dark Crystal. Blasphemy!
Quote:On an OT note - I'm also thinking Thugs/Poison/Soul - get a lot of variations there plus some urban dual gun wielding stuff (without the Matrix animations). Then get a zombie wand from Mr. Bocor every so often to add some zombie goodness. Still no skull effects which is sad but I could dip into the Presence pool for some fear at least.. hrm.
(I know it ignores the poison angle, but I keep thinking dark armor, for the Cloak of Fear effect, and the eerie look of some of the other auras with the right coloration... I cannot think of one, but is there a weapon set that would work for a voodoo look with the right customization?) -
Dark Melee is also a fun pairing. The heal in the attack chain helps bolster the resistance basis of the set a ton.
You pretty much have to go pyre to get any meaingful aoe,... but once you do.... fun, fun, fun -
Quote:Oh, my, I immediately thought of this , but love your clip, thanks.

What good hunters do when they aren't hunting after the zombie apocalypse, you mean?

Quote:I think, this is a combination of things.I wasn't really referring to you. I just get a sense from all the attention it gets from the internet and the media that folks are buying into the notion that this is the "it" show now. And I can't figure why that is, beyond some of the makeup effects. It's not particularly well-written, directed, or acted, and most of the characters aren't very interesting.
First, admittedly it presents a setting involving one of the classic monsters at a time when that spectrum of entertainment is at its peak. Second, the main arc of the story is compelling. Third, for those that haven't read the comic it has taken a lot of people by surprise. Fourth, while the overall quality of the script, direction, or acting have not been of uniform quality... the moments when the show hits it are of particularly high caliber. Those vignettes are keeping the program hung together for me.
Quote:He was wearing reddish-brown overshirt + blue jeans in an area that was majority green. He was also sporting pale, pasty skin in an open area with sunlight shining on him. The camo t-shirt was not very visible.
None of that screams low visibility.
I do not think there is any stretch, at all, in the scenario presented in the episode. -
It is a cyclical marketing trend. Nothing to see here.
(In specific, I think it is a response to the 'success' of the Old Spice ad campaign.)
