    This is true in PvE. The main reason [u]most[u] brutes take mako patron is for pvP which is to the answer of the OP. Spirit Shark is a hard hitting pvp attack and it does KB and heavy Lethal damage and DoT. Its higher in pvP because in i13 they changed the rules were powers do more damage based on animation times. Spirit shark was lowered a little bit but is still a hard hitting attack. Since your thread is about Mako Patron I am trying to stay on topic as to why people take it. The answer is simple PVP. If you PvP this is the set for you. If you don't PvP then other patron powers would be better depending on what your looking for. Artic Breath is a good slow but it counters what you want as a brute I think.. To build fury you want to be attacked if you slow them your kinda play against that.. Then again its all on play style..

    I have it on my retired pvp now PvE EM/Electric brute since I lack AoE (Footstomp, Fault, tremor) and a heal in the set. Using the slow will allow me to be able to use Aid self. So there are ways to use it in pve depending on play style.

  3. To the OP Mako patron is very popular amoung PvPers. Sharks in pvp cause a lot of damage, in mids click the PVP mode button and see the damage it does VS PvE version.

    If you don't pvp then the other patrons are prolly better.

    I have no idea why your basing ONE power nerf amoung the whole set.. All the ST attacks got buffed and are gold in one on one attacks and good in pvp. I can live with the Teir 9 change now that it hits 16 people instead of 10. Psy Drain was not changed so survivability is still there..

    Since the changes permanently apply the damage bonus and add a little extra, dom's are now doing much more then intended damage.

    The damage will be brought a bit more in line with other AT's. Should look more like this after slotting:

    Charged Bolts after changes: 181 damage at lvl 50
    Charged Bolts for Blasters: 191 damage at lvl 50

    The Power of Black Scorpion Click power given to Masterminds *is* broken. A fix is in the pipeline; not sure when it will reach live.

    How it broke:
    Basically, just before the deadline, I completely rebuilt the power to do something different from what it had done before. The previous version had always been problematic and it just wasn't working out, so I replaced it with something more reliable at the 11th hour. Unfortunately, there was an error in my testing process and I failed to detect that, unless you had Dev Tools enabled, the power simply wouldn't actually trigger on Reichsman. So, you can use the power on him all day...and the attributes simply don't process.

    This was caught just before launch, and I fixed it, but the fix had not gotten through the production process in time.

    Here is what they all get just to throw it out there. Just note that the MM temp is bugged currently.

    Stalkers get Makos Temp so they can sneak past the lasers to activate fail saves which kill all the 5th column ambushes. NOTE: There are only 4 fail saves.

    Brutes (and VEATs) get Ghost Widows Temp power that shuts off Reischmans debuff aura (purple swirly thing) OR protects from the debuff aura.

    Dominators get Scirroccos Temp that is a hold for the 5th Column ambushes.

    Corruptors get Scirroccos Temp that kills all the held 5th Column ambushes (both regular holds and Dominators version of Scirroccos Temp).

    Masterminds get Black Scorpions Temp that allows to knock Reichsman out of Unbreakable mode OR prevent him from going to Unbreakable mode OR kill his regen while in Unbreakable mode. (Currently bugged)
  9. Well here is some food for thought..

    Get Aid Self, when you use Power Boost at the same time it will double your heal.

    Or you can go with Hibernation.. if you have end issues you can go with Scricco..

    Is this Build for just pvE? or pvP?

    Each Melee AT has slight differences while similar in a lot of ways. Scrappers play differently too, yes you can play them like Brutes but they do not have the ugency of Fury.

    Not to side track this thread any further but what AT redside do you think is best to soak the damage for the team? I dont see any other ATs with Taunt implemented into their build.

    Tell me that Masterminds and VEATs are better suited for the job.

    Scrappers have taunt are they tanks too?

    MasterMinds can tank since they have body guard mode which allows them to take alpha. Those that know how to use it, can attest to that.

    Also a side note* Statesman made the comment that many old school forum dwellers remember that when CoV was implemented that in his words MM's were the Tanker version of CoV meanwhile comparing brutes to Scrappers. So that is where it all orginated from.

    Um healing flames is up in under 15 seconds?
    Fiery Embrace + Rage =together get the most up front damage bonus.

    Corruptor-MM trap version

    Poison MM version

    Also note that with power boost you can also take PFF and Aid Self which reminds me of the good old blaster days (I have not played mine in a while)

    back to your question:
    I have both Mind/nrg and Fire/electric.. to me the Mind/nrg is much more survivable and has a ton of damage behind it.

    /electric needs Build up now that domination does not offer a damage buff. The ranged attacks to more damage now, but the melee factor is weaker than before (even though your end is lower and recharge is faster)

    /Energy having 3 HIGH damage (Power blast, power push, power burst) 1 Moderate (Power bolt) 1 Extreme (Snipe) ranged attacks is hard to beat out! then factor in HIGH damage Bone Smasher and Extreme Total Focus.. THEN Power Boost, its hard to really pass up /Energy now it provides a lot of Burst damage.

    My Fire/electric is good too (but note I also have Imps) but to compare /nrg to /electric without factoring in the primary. Again, /Electric is NOT shabby either its pretty strong. I just preffer /Energy.
