  1. #19 of 40 is a tribute to Lela Dowling's fantasy style.
  2. That is a great piece Des.
The one thing that is a little unclear to me (it's visible in the really large version) at this size, is Des's right arm.
There is a lot of black/dark gray that makes it tricky to follow and the powers fx at the hands adds a bit to the confusion.
GW has that teal color on bother her hands but Des has pink/purple on one hand and blue/white on the other... is she meant to wield a different power in each hand?

I do see the claw fingers sticking up but her arm almost looks like it's trapped between GW legs (which works fine as well but I don't think it's intended). Her shoulder being in front of GW is more visible in the green version but I can understand green not being a "Des color" but going with a darker color the piece may need some more contrast in a few places to compensate so it still reads clearly.

Perhaps, as a suggestion, a sheen line (like the ones on GW calves) running along GW's thigh that ends at Des's shoulder then reappears at GW's knee. Having a broken white line will clearly show that there is something there in front of her leg. Otherwise some of the teal fx reflecting off GW's thigh might do it too. The white light is reflecting off her (latex?)suit but all the effects are only visible in the air.

It's a beautiful piece either way and will make a great addition to your gallery.
  3. Oh sure rub it in Kheld...
    oh wait...

    It's both.
Having a large "lizard" and a huge monitor are both euphemisms for my giant wang... that can read hidden chat logs n stuffz.

Thanks for the ZBrush intro BW.
  6. Hahaha. Eddy you walked right into that one.
    You guys crack me up.
  7. Viv did you try hitting f5 to refresh with the latest page version from the server? Drew's show just fine on my screen.

Funnily I thought of VexXxa... I swear you blink and that girl has a new avatar.

Oh and welcome to the best part of the fourms Drew.

I saw that and immediately liked having that collar bone popping up a bit, so I went with it.

What confuses me is that you said it reads better except the breasts... but the chest structure was the part that I was deliberately trying to improve. Ok maybe I'm not confused by that so much as I am saddened

Anyways I'm going to edit my previous post of the image with a few touch-ups instead of posting the image all over again. But from this point forward I will force myself to not touch the image again. I just realized that I have never done a landscape in my entire life, so I need to move on to that and stop dwelling on this one.
No worries man the chest structure is improved and does look more realistic... I just like big boobs is all... on angels that is... that carry warhammers, ahem.
  9. Wow man I'm sorry to hear that. Is it just the work is onerous or is it the people you have to put up with?
I really hope your situation improves if possible or that you find something else better and this just becomes something you look back on as a temporary stepping stone on your way to better things.

You are correct about the shadow of the hammer... I did make a shadow for that, and I suspect that somewhere in my photoshop file is a layer that I hid a while ago and forgot to turn on.

    D'oh,
What about the the changes to her hood and the neck choker being missing and other stuff I noted? Did those happen in a previous revision that I missed perhaps (I'm just looking at differences between the last two times the image is posted in this thread)?
  11. Well the added shadows in the open knotwork of her stomach definitely adds more believability and the increased waist to hip ratio works good too.
I kinda liked the choker but having just skin there does lead the eye better to her rack... which has shrunk from about an F to merely double D (yay for less back aches! )... jeez Clutch what were ya thinkin'? ...couldn't ya have just given her a smaller hammer to carry?

The hood does drape better on her shoulders the way it is now though but I think the shadow on the left biceps shouldn't be a straight line but gradually come closer to her body nearer towards the top where it touches the hood and the shadow on the right biceps should maybe more convex (pushing out like the breast casting it) than concave. Also I think the shadow of the hammer needs to be tweaked a bit... the angle her knee is bent makes the leg seem to be pretty far forward like she might be using her thigh to help support the hammer but it is making no depression on the leg... if it is touching or very close to it then the shadow needs to be harder and darker at the point of near contact and more diffuse as it rounds further down both sides of the leg and if it's not touching shouldn't the shadow be a horizontal line across the thigh extending (at least part way) down on both sides of her leg? Maybe someone more studied at cast shadows could say for certain but that is what I'm seeing.

Nice improvements though and overall it does read better than before... cept the bewbiez n'stuffz.

Did I mention I love this pic?
  12. Do a search for "how to draw proportions" or "figure drawing" instead and you will come across sites like this and this.
There are plenty of illustrations on the sites and links to ebooks you can download in .PDF format. Cheers

    I'm leaving you

Dammit Foo you're bumming me out.

It may be a funny idea but it's worth considering... a drawing a month rather than $180 per year don't sound like such a bad deal.
Besides you'll totally come crawling back begging for a second chance and forgiveness for breaking up when GR drops.
  14. As I said I'm sure either of Binds pieces would be accepted (and no doubt would get votes too) I just think an already good image could be made better by bringing in more elements of the main theme.

Glenda must be someone redside? *goes to look it up*

Well that would no doubt be an attention getter lol.
  15. I see what you are saying Caemgen but what makes the first more lighthearted pinup for me is Ghost Widow's "teehee" expression and her knees touching plus her feet being pointed (all very common among the classic pinups I've seen).

This is just my opinion but the Liberty image kinda reminds me more of a propaganda poster than pinup, it says lets team up and kick some asterisk (heh) more than I'm your fantasy (unless of course whooping on punctuation is your fantasy ). Plus she is fully dressed and has a serious expression compared to GW being in her undies looking naughty.

Still a fine piece by all accounts (it's nicely drawn no matter what Bindweed says about being a tablet newb ) and I'm sure it will be accepted as it is... I just think it's missing the mark a bit.
  16. Close but no cigar.

**Looks around but doesn't see a Tanks 4d ref posted anywhere just a link to the cat from Shrek**
  17. While I do think that is a technically better piece overall Bind and it does tie in CoH well and certainly covers the "hawt chick" rule I'm not sure I see the lighthearted pinuppyness (™) or romance aspect to joining a crusade on evil? Still needs a little something to really nail the theme I think.

The last entry while not as vibrant had the pinup vibe going on for sure... plus I gotta admit I loved the black Arachnos panties.
  18. Out of curiosity was the blue fire your intent (like the plasma powers from the game are blue) or was that artistic license?

Agreed the mood of the piece speaks volumes and I like this larger version of the golden shades too. Very cool piece Bayani.
  19. Thanks Molecular I'll look em over.

#17 is up... I figured it was high time for some Juggs!
  20. Pics or it didn't happen.

    Oh and #16 is up.
I hadn't tried an animal hero crossover yet and this is such a cool idea for a hero
(the blue rings even suggest eco-location... how awesome is that?) that I decided to try my hand at Dolphin.

I haz likes a really good eye for detailz n' stuffz.

P.S. I agree with Eddy it is "the best time"
  22. Cool. I like that you have such a broad range of characters in your gallery from Indian gods
to videogame art (The Streetfighter stuff was nice and I lol'd at seeing oddworld).

Welcome to the best section of the forums.

P.S. Nahid and Nebel were my favorites.
