Cool you have some nice artz to start the gallery off already. Looking forward to seeing more... and welcome to your new obsession.

Nice. It reminds me a bit of a cross between the tiger from the Jungle Book and Scar from the Lion King... in wolf form heh.
How could you not trust that smile indeed.
Think I'll take a stab at drawing Scar. -
Quote:Hmmm didn't see any healing arrows mentioned at that link.

Quote:Yeah I know a few that could run with that... *shudder*Thank you! I was exceptionally happy when I found the name available back when I first snagged it, around the time WP and Dual Blades launched. I could totally see an SG like that, and I'm sure we both know folks who could run with a concept for "Insert," though I dare not speculate on the outcome.
That is one of the tamer ways it could go but ok sure, heh.
Quote:For 'Insert' I only see one possible choice...
Trick Arrow/Archery Defender
Quote:Ooh that's cool!. I think you went into socalled "coffeeshops" *giggles* those are not to sell coffee indeed :P.
I find it very refreshing to finally talk to someone that came to Amsterdam for to good things!
Amsterdam is really nice (and over 200 km away fromwhere I live.. but still!). And I'm ashamed to say I've never been in the Van Gogh museum sofar... I tend to.. just didn't get to it.... *blushes*
And to be even more clear...Febo is what we call a "snackbar". McDonalds or BK are "fastfood restaurants".
--> yes... the Dutch have odd ways.
The sightseeing was great... you never know what you'll find just walking around, I walked down a sidestreet one day and saw an big stone archway I had never seen. It was above the entrance to a shopping center and carved across the top were the words "HomoSapiens non urinat in ventum"... granted my Latin is rusty but to me that reads "Man should not piss into the wind" lol classic! That kind of structure would never be allowed where I live. Later I learned it used to be an old prison that was converted to a mall, hahaha.
You really must go see the VanGogh (I command it!)... it's totally worth making an afternoon out of it.
Burgers, fries, deep fried hotdogs... that's not fast food?
I was only in a Febo's once so I could be wrong... do you mean it is fast food but not a fast food restaurant because the stuff comes out of
vending machines?

Cool pieces all, I escpecially like the 2nd one with the green circular eyes (like they are goggles?).
The way you did the tattered cape almost in the shape of wings is really dramatic and also Captain Quebec looks great too.
Glad you decided to post these up.

Welcome back (the other?) DD.
Nice work on Grey Huntress (who has since changed names)... as for other Icons it would depend on how you define that.
If you mean people who have been around for a long time, have eponymous heroes and have done a lot to help support the art forums I would say people like Thor's Assassin and VexXxa (although she is a villain)...
If you mean iconic as in people who have immediate face recognition because there is so much art done of them that everyone just knows them on sight then Caemgen and Katfood come to mind...
If you just mean really cool iconic in nature heroes I would be remiss if I didn't point out Xllusya

Quote:You did draw another person in the Hot Pencil ya know...NoooooooooooOOOOOOoooooOOOOOOOooooOOOOOOOOOOOooooo oo!!!
Have you forgotten the Hot Pencil Sketch thread?? In there I did my one and only character commission:
And what happened to Amerikatt?? What happened???
Nobody knows, that's what happened! She's gone... Just gone! And now you want me to do it again???? Evil!
and now David Nakayama has been unseen and unheard from in weeks... what has your cursed pencil wrought upon DN and Amerikatt???
Probably banished katt to some untold hell dimension that... oh wait she's back!
Yeah it was probably more like a vacation than a hell dimension... so umm when will we see more Caemgen artz?
P.S. Now that I think of it you drew Cashoo too... anyone seen her in a while? >o.0<

Quote:Sent you a PM on this but yeah it's probably a combination of stuff... if it was in it's own thread with "contest" in the title it usually has a line out the door but posted in this thread I'm thinking many missed it. Also people (not all) probably like the idea of earning/winning something over just a free giveaway.Sorry Bubs, I didn't see your message before I sent in the references and ended up getting two for myself out of the batch. I imagine they'll be another opportunity soon enough though so hopefully we can get you in then...
Though I may have to go back to the contest ideas... At least when I ran the contests I got people wanting the free arts. Maybe people prefer to win than just ask? Or maybe there's just not enough people in 606? Or maybe nobody is reading the boards due to double XP? Or maybe nobody likes me and thus don't want arts from me? lol *shrug*
Also the Double XP and the fact that Dual Pistols are available (for those who pre-puchased) as a new powerset so yeah I'd say go back to contests and pick a time not during a major release or Double XP... or both.

Quote:WB Amerikatt.I'm *not* a "cat girl", but I *am* a young female cat, so I guess that makes me a "girl cat".
Without further ado, here I am -- star of stage, screen, and Saturday morning cartoons ... AMERIKATT!!!
((She's sweet, always optimistic, and a bit naive, but she's King's Row's first line of defense against the miscreants who try to take advantage of the city's citizenry, both furred and non-furred alike.
If you do use her for your comic, please remember that she's an actual cat (blue furred Russian Blue) who's wearing a costume. Granted, she's the most powerful kitten on Earth (she has the non-shapeshifting powers of a Peacebringer), but she doesn't speak English (although she understands the language -- and several others -- and will respond with a "Mew" as appropriate, but she'd be more realistically portrayed as using thought bubbles. In those cases, her inner monologue would read like the stereotypical Golden/Silver Age hero(ine)!
A more realistic depiction of her can be found in the photo below, as well as ChristopherRobin's excellent sketch in the sig.))

Quote:Ok cool got it.DeeDee is an Anchery / Fire Blaster who can run really fast
Mike is a Willpowered / Superstrength Tank who can jump really high and far!
--> And no.. not at Febo's just off Prinsengracht *giggles*, waaaay more up :P.
I take it you've been there?
Heh, yeah I used to pick a country/region every year an just go explore for a few weeks. I've been all over the place.
Although I have no interest in the "cafes" (they don't serve coffee in them anyway o.0) or some of the other stuff that people go to Amsterdam for it was one of coolest places for sightseeing and art museums (The Van Gogh museum there is one of my all time favorites) and I like that people don't take themselves too seriously over there.
(Sidenote: For those that don't know, Febo's is kinda like their version of a McDonalds or BK.)

And yes I am still looking for things to draw so thanks for the refs I'll look them over... I can already tell from the thumbs that you have a good eye for poses.
P.S. Cool name too, I always thought there should be a SG called Keyboard Commando's or something like that where everyone has a key for a name (dibs on Pause Break!)
like Shift (for a shapeshifter) or Backspace (gravity controller) or Spellcheck (a magic themed hero) FLock (could be someone with a lot of pets heh)... Numlock (Ice control naturally lol) would be pretty cool too... Insert might be a bit tricky though... ahem. -
Answered your PM already buddy... While I would be happy to receive some gift art what I'd really like at this point is some gift colors.
I really liked what Omi did with Bindweed's "catfight" and I'd be interested to see what he could do with one of my designs if that is at all possible.
If that messes up your arrangement with him though don't worry I will find another way to get it done... gift artz works too.

Quote:Archery/what 2nd set Blaster?Well, here they are...finally!
Some pics of my 2 main chars, blaster DeeDee Carter aka Darth Delicious and tank Mike Johnson (who refuses to take a "hero"name and just sticks with his own).
If you need anything else... you know where to find me
and what kind of tank is Mike?
ummm... at the Febo's just off Prinsengracht?
-
Ahh that explains why the guy face down in the alley is grinning... you can't see it but yeah he's totally got a half smile on his face.
It's like he's thinkin "Wow this really hurts and I think I can taste my spleen, but hey on the plus side of things check the view... cheeky justice FTW!"
...sorry I must've been channeling Tatyrsause for a sec (but with less BM humor heh).
-
Well we did get to see Sapphic Neko say "oopsies"
-
Oh I understood what he meant I just thought it kinda random to point it out two years after the fact.
-
In other catguurl news i17 launching in April will give animated tails (yes it will move when you do and swish when you are just standing) so rejoice and revel.
I thought this would be a pretty useless feature but it might look cool on my lizardman or demoness too... hope they are different animations for different tails.
-
Welcome back Bobby!
Yep still on virtue, Hero Studio blueside and well that other side has a group too.
-
Hey Double D,
Thought you were going to gather some refs to post in my thread, did you forget?
Oh well I wrapped up the 40 in 60 project yesterday so you missed that... how would you feel about an art trade instead?
Have a crack at Chloe
or Xllusya if you like.
(the pics link to bigger versions and the names link to slideshows)
...and I'll draw one of your heroes in exchange. Whatcha think?
-
Neko you may want to notice the last actual Foo post in this thread (and when he hit 10,000) is from 2008.
Silverado revived the thread for some random reason but alas Foo is still not back yet.
Ease up on the gloat button a bit for now.

Quote:Yep AH does all his digital work with a mouse.I believe Adam Hughes uses the mouse. I could be mistaken though.
Oh, and I think I have an unused Intuos 3 mouse... Somewhere.
I also use a mouse but that is just because I don't have a tablet... not a preference.
Also 90% of what I do is traditional art (pencils pens and *gasp* paper) so I haven't felt like I absolutely needed one yet. I'd take a Cintiq though.
Also for Bindweed and others curious there are many threads that have been started on this subject before (last one was around Christmas)... just do a search for threads with Wacom in the title.

Quote:They have really big...Bah, I bet you even dream in color... Err, wait. That makes no sense... Anyway, love them as is but may decide to try color just to see... Haven't decided yet.
And Viv - you know what they say about with big feet, don't ya?? Not sure how that applies to Fen though...
huge...
massive...
shoes?
*looks at size 13 double wide shoes under desk*
Yeah that's that it... big shoes... ahem.
