@Juggertha:
In Soviet Russia, game plays you.

Yeah that's the first thing I thought as well back when I first "discovered" this art section... wow this LJ person
really should get some gift artz in return for all the cool artz they're giving away. That part hasn't changed.
I really like what you did here Pyro and I'm sure Bobby
will appreciate the gift too. Very cool buddy!
Sidenote: Yeah as Juggertha mentioned there are a few things that need adjustment
but that stuff will comes to you with time and practice (keep at it man, your stuffs improving).
P.S. Instead of making any changes to this I'd suggest leaving it as is and periodically revisit/redraw it using all the new
techniques and perspective you've gained during the interim... it's good to have a piece that visually demonstrates your progress over time.

Hahaha I totally got the DirtyDancing quote there. (80's trivia knowledge ftw!
)
And by the way that is a really nice new avatar Amerikatt... did Psygon create it?

Happy Day of Implicit Carrying of Tatyr Sauce Books n stuffz!
Hope you had a great day man and here's something to make it even better... gift artz!
Click Click... dang!
How'd I get seawater in my flintlocks?!!
(Hey I'm starting to actually catch up here... no else have a
birthday for the next week or two and I'll be good!)
-
I was gone for a while helping out a friend but upon my return I found that a great many birthdays had happened all at once and in trying to catch up with the birthday well-wishing I noticed Blood-Wolffe had his hatching day on the 8th according to the calendar but I couldn't find a thread for him?
If I'm just not finding it then treat this as my response in that thread but if there just wasn't one before... well there is now.
HAPPY BIRFDAY WOLFFE!
Edit: coming soon...
Clicks teh thumbnail...
GRRRRR!

A quick check through my list shows I'm only missing the letters H O W Y, which of course spells (incorrectly) Howie, which leads me to believe that Howie Mandell being on AGT this year is somehow responsible for this grievous oversight in my achieving alphabetical totality... *Sigh* I knew no good would come of eliminating David.
Bring back the Hoff!
Completely random segue of randomness for the week... nailed it!

Quote:Already left comments on DA for the Shieldara piece... allow me to sum up... BEST DRAWING IN THE SERIES!
(yeah ok so I'm biased but really this is one of the finest pencil works you've done imho Wassy)
Also mentioned how I ended up with Strahd for a name (now changed to Vladric) too... yeah Ravenloft is the shiz' yo!

You could always just put a robotic claw or pincers bracing under his arms. Then you wouldn't have to change much else (though Bobby's additions of the leg change and lowered head would still be great) and the cables can be free floating anywhere because they don't have to support the weight.
It would be a simple and quick addition that fits the robotic theme to boot.
Something like this perhaps (except not silly looking like mine)...
-
You could call the large one Amityville or Poltergeist. Or name the one that does toxic damage after the girl that projectile vomited the green split pea soup.
Also when you asked for what people think of your story are you looking for spelling? (deads should be deeds for example)
Structure and usage? (the repeated use of "they" is redundant) or do you mean the content and how well it reads?
-
Cool cake your wife got for... wait your name is not Bubba Wheat?!? */e disillusionment*
Always wondered how they got the image on there? It looks like edible frosting even.
-
Alex does some great stuff no doubt.
Oh and Happy Birthday to that "other Alex" guy.
-
Quote:Agreed Juggertha.Yeah, you'd be surprised at how a well done character concept/screenie can influence an artist.
Great job on these LJ.
I did this drawing of Kilotonnage for a guy I'd never met, chatted to, teamed with or even saw post anything
(he was gone from the forums long before I found my way here). The character concept was so cool I just had to take a crack at it.

Happy "BURN"-day Bubbawheat!
See what I did there... Burn...? it's like really clever and stuffz cuz he has all those matchstick heroes and... Oh hey look over there!
**drops off stealth artz and runs before peeps realize what day it was**
*click meh*
P.S. Sheesh can't believe I missed another one... it's like a parental conspiracy I tell ya!

Nice work Genie, I like how Stormy's hair turned out.
If the hands are really bugging you a good thing to try is looking at lots of pictures of woman's hands or if you are/have a female "handy" have her pose her fingers in various cool ways (clenched fist, casting a spell etc) and take pictures to study later... or just do a google image search for hand models.
Being able to take your own pics is better because you can choose the pose and do "just slightly different" variations of the same pose or the exact same pose but have the hands turn to face a lamp/light source and then away from it then above and below the light etc etc and after a while you will start to notice patterns, little things here and there that will make your drawn hands more believable.

Quote:Can't speak for the rest but I'm with LJ, it depends on what's going on any given day, how much spare time I have, if the costume/backstory catches my eye etc...Whoa whoa whoa wait a second - do I have this right? You can just ASK for art around here and get something as cool as THAT? Daaaaamn!
My 40 in 60 challenge was mostly just anyone who asked and put up a ref had a good shot of getting free artz but I've also done them as prizes for contests, art trades... heck just for commenting on one of the "hundreds" post in my thread.
Granted I don't have LJ's digital skillz (yet) but point is it never hurts
to ask cuz ya never know around here what might happen.
Sidenote: Juggertha has a sticky thread on requesting fan art... it's a good one to look over.
P.S. Cool stuff ya did here Bobby. Was that rain brush something you downloaded?

Quote:Was away for a bit and missed this but thank you DE and yeah I got some close-ups.Very cool costumes on that! Anyone get personal close-ups? I'd like to look at them a bit closer - they all look great! CR, your Zangief looks dead on from that pic.
This is Zangief as I first created him
thought that was too easy and so I took my own challenge and went for a zombie version and this is the zombified (Zomb Gief, heh) that I used during the TF.
Quote:I had to coax everyone into figuring out who I wasPersonally, I thought I did an okay job, aside from my smaller stature...
I got the idea while the cable guy was working on our lines and I was flipping through my old CDs trying to find something off-line to amuse myself with. I saw I still owned my old DOOM discs and there ya go...
I went with a bigger gauntlet for the right arm to look more like a gun arm and a different head, different horns and a "skin" top rather than a mechanical one. Also I used a different pattern for the red on the belly. I think you had the best choices for the bottom so I left that the same.

Quote:Sorry I was a away for a bit helping people but this is great news to come back to!Well, it's been another while...and I don't think my thumb will ever completely heal.
But....
I'm not giving up either. It'll just have to get used to holding a pencil again hehe.
Anyways, I've been working on CR's request a bit more and only need to put in details. So yay, nearly finished!
(the drawing being almost done not your thumb taking a long time to heal up)
Can't wait to see it DD.
Quote:I know...but that's how it looks in the screen I got from the game heheheh :P
But.. aspecially for you.. I'll see what I can do about the size *giggles*Quote:They actually gave her a boob reduction in the latest games. She looks much better now imo..............
-
Neat.
Yeah hands and feet are the bane of many an artist.
I need to find a decent way to make fire fx as well... out of curiosity what are you using?
Oh and welcome to the best part of the forums Genie.
-
Quote:Your welcome................Actually, I was doing a play-off of the "Going to the Americans" bit that Jack Emmert had mentioned in a post reply. I'm glad that I *finally* got that source material in context!
(*huggles*)
and let's face it who wouldn't want to see the occasional Amerikatt cameo...
-
O Rly?
Welcome back Viv!
Quote:.......CR, I think minimizing requires that you suck at art.......
Ok how about taking this one...
and simplifying it even further reducing down to just simple shapes...
(there were only two colors to begin with so I can go much simpler there)
