Tweaked it a bit he says...
dude fixing the heel of his left boot would be tweaking it a bit.
This is more like I took something already great and
improved almost every aspect.
Good stuff Bobby.
Sidenote: I think I prefer the eyes in the first piece...
but then it's not my hero, just tossing in my.

Well it's up on DA... I can shrink the pages and post it here as well if people want but it will take some time.
for now you guys can check it out in the Fart Contest folder.
My original goal was 10 pages, multiple panels on every page... however each panel is made up of multiple drawings and they took many hours each to draw and then more time to scan, crop, orient, and write in text for. In the end I rewrote the story and crammed it all into 5 pages... the end result is very text laden so my apologies for that.
I will post up a bunch of WIP's in my NewArtz thread over the next few days plus stuff I drew that didn't make it into the final revision (I literally finished this last rewrite 10 minutes before the deadline... phew!) for those that enjoy the "rough stuff."
I lost count of how many hours I spent drawing and writing... (and rewriting... and rewriting again and then drawing some more etc etc) but conservatively speaking it's somewhere north of 60 hours.
Edit: Hahaha well it turns out there is a limit to the number of pages I can submit per day to the City of Heroes Group.
Pages 1, 3, and 4 are there but I'll have to submit pages 2 and 5 tomorrow... which is like a half hour away for my time zone.
Whatever... all the pages are posted in the correct order in my gallery (individual links posted below...) so use those until I can get that FArt submissions folder straightened out. -
Sorry I missed it DE turned off the PC yesterday to work undistracted on my FArt entry in the afternoon and had theater tickets for the evening.
Happy Birthday belated. Hope you had a great time and maybe I'll take a quick shot at one of your heroes after the contest deadline has passed.
Tanks perhaps, or maybe Ether... bottle of rum?

Cool finish Bobby I can see elements of both Kev and Caemgen in there.
The Kobold stuff is coming along real nice too... think he might have been before my time here as well (though I see him commenting on CoH stuffz posted to DA).

@Frost: Think man, surely there must have been a time while playing where you though... If only this part of the story had happened this way instead... or something to that effect.
Anything story related you desperately want to change to suit your tastes? (UP n' Away burger now serves Chinese takeout instead?)
Anything that is good can be written as evil instead or vice/versa. (States is really a tyrannical bully... oh wait that's been done.)
Anything old can be made new. (All "cars from the 70's" are banned by the city official and replaced with SUV's, hybrids and vehicles people actually wouldn't mind being caught dead in.)
Anything ultra rare could be made commonplace. (suddenly all the civilians have powers... "you can only lift a 100 giga-bigga-tons??? stand aside hero let me show you how that's done!")
Anything rediculous in the game can be made sane/rational or vice/versa. (Suddenly the powers that be figure out they had it wrong from the beginning... when a civilian walking along "bumps" into a hero THEY ARE THE ONES TO GET KNOCKED ASIDE, NOT THE HERO WHO IS MADE OF SOLID EFFIN' GRANITE... ahem sorry, pet peeve.)
Anything seemingly innocuous could secretly be a front for great ebil. (Paragon Cleaners are secretly behind the rash of villains hiding out in the sewers to increase profits on hero outfit dry cleaning?)
Anything large could be made small. (Citadel is really just an angry midget in a suit! That explains a lot.)
Anything figurative could be made literal. (Icon really does charge an arm... and a leg! They are in fact secretly supplying body parts to the Vahzilok)
Ok most of these are terribly silly ideas (and may not acutually fit the retcon theme) lol but hopefully it will get you thinking creatively... or at least get a chuckle.
P.S. Meanwhile my entry still remains a bunch of random seeming images that I am frantically
trying to tie together into something remotely resembling a cohesive story... I'm not quite in panic mode... yet.

Wha s' matta Doktor? Not feelin da love again?

Interesting idea LD, out of curiosity did you happen to run it by Wassy?
-
Congratulations Lord Goat and Johnstone and yay me!
Oh you know I will be taking you up on the art Lex, going to go browse your DA gallery for a bit and see which of my characters would be best suited to your style.
This was a fun contest to watch and be a part of... thanks for taking the time to host it and thanks to all who participated as well.

Quote:Fixed that for ya buddy.............Thanks for the offers to help all
Though when I get my stubborn on and want to finish solo there's little chance of me asking for assistance before throwing my old comp out a window (cuz I would never do that to my shiny new custom pc, it's teh awesomez)... which would then make such assistance a bit moot.

Quote:Can't say for certain but I think Ironik is talking about how some who have Vista have problems with caps and others do not... not comparing XP to Vista but comparing something that fails on one Vista machine to that same thing working on another Vista machine (correct me if I'm misunderstanding you though Ironik).
That's actually a very, very false statement. Sure, Vista sucks, but not for that reason. Vista is not the "same program". Its UI system differs by several magnitudes than that of XP, and it also brings new functionality and usability features to the operating system.
As for taking screenshots from the character selection screen and whatnot, just follow these steps if you're using Vista/7:
1. Set up the scene you wish to take screenshot of.
2. Press the Windows key on your keyboard.
3. Open any application. Anything would do. But open something light with a small window. Command Prompt, a simple Explorer Window, or a Notepad window would be good examples.
4. With the newly opened Window on top, make sure CoH is taking your screen's background. Position it to that it's not blocking the focus of your scene.
5. With the newly opened window on top, press Print Screen on your keyboard.
6. Open Paint.
7. Press Ctrl + V.
8. Crop out the opened window on top, and you should be left with the background, which just happens to be what you were taking screenshot of.
9. Profit!
That said there are so many variables that could account for something like that... you could just as easily (and I have) see two XP machines fail/succeed at the same task.
The take away here, which I think we can all agree upon for our own reasons, is that Vista stinks on ice.
P.S. That is not something I would want to do every time (and it isn't very quick capture friendly) Bright Shadow but it is certainly a very clever workaround and I for one always appreciate knowing multiple ways of making a computer do what you want it to do.

Ok there's something you don't see every day.

I think it's totally innocent, she is just listening for distant footsteps indian-style...
while staring at the viewer intently...
as her tail poses an unasked question?
-
Any clue where she went?
...and nope it's Windows Media Player 11 in miniature mode
(or possibly 12 if she has Win7 and is up to date with the latest iteration).
-
It's a Shakespearean play called "All's well that ends well."
Quote:<PatrickStewart>Is there any nudity in it?</PatrickStewart>
P.S. Patrick Steward is totally like that too... he can keep a straight face while messing with you.

Yeah probably, I just get so few excuses to break out the paddle.
Quote:This is why Vista sucks -- same program, entirely different results.
As a system builder I just skipped it and told all my clients to stay with XP until 7 came out... I only ever put it on my test box while participating in Microsoft's beta program but none of my mission critical machines ever got "vista-fied".
To be fair it did get somewhat better after Service Pack 1 came out but not nearly enough and now with Win7 out there is no reason to choose it at all.
/end rant.

Wait wut?
A gm came in to help you guys get unstuck and you took him out? Hahahahaha... is that even possible?
-
Quote:Lol you gave me that link when I asked for refs of your characters.... err I mean, wut j00 talkkin bout Willis.Ok, now who is cyberstalking who's photoposting website???
I think we all thank you for reconsidering... Nobody wants to see my real face combined with Fenians!!
hmmm there's an idea for a later day... but I meant with your face with Caemgen's.
Maybe I should've had Fenian jumping out of the cake instead.
Quote:Best "Deliverance" voice, "You got a purty mouth..."
Yes the two of you guessed right. Excellent swag CR, my old wacom was an Intuos 3, in fact just today the wife said, I'm taking your old one when mine breaks... SAWEET tower, another CR masterpiece... so jealous!
Well back to work on Kai's piece, I got a deadline to make!) anyway.
Thanks Bobby that was my first time building in that particular case but I was pleased with the results. I just need to find a way to get graphics directly onto the case... so far I am printing on decals and sticking them on the exterior but it's not the best way to go.
-
Well it's not an exact thing here because my pic was done with
markers and not photoshop but it would be approximately...
#391571 for the purple base which in RGB would read R:57_G:21_B:113
and
#DD6A95 for the pink base which in RGB is R:221_G:106_B:149
if that helps ya.
And yeah Draggynn has it for linking large pictures, you can also link thumbnails like this
if the base picture is really large or if you want to have many images showing without burying a thread.
Edit: A quick look at your screen shows you are using RGB values for the colors... so I added them in.

Quote:@Caemgen: It's your face from that black and white you put up on photobucket (and more recently in that thread where there was a call to post faces) crossed with Caemgen dude.Ya think? Did I mention I had a belated bday gift for someone in the works... talk to me Wednesday night... muahahahaha...
Here's a sneak peak... recognize the pose?
@Bobby/LJ Nice one man, I almost did that same thing but went with Fenian and the cake instead heh.
Also yeah I'd totally be up for another skype session or a live stream to follow along and bonus! it turns out a
client had a wacom tablet he bought but almost never used and it was just collecting dust, since I had just
rewired and upgraded his pc to be silent (it was as noisy as the sound of a jet engine taking off... playing in a
perpetual loop before) he gave it to me and said "my ears thank you for the silence"
.
It's a medium size Intuos 3 and the final stages of this here were my first attempt playing around with it.
-
HOLY MOLEY!
Dude that is fricken sweet! I'm totally jealous...
Ok I need to see the big version of that now so I can like reverse engineer it and learn stuffz... err I mean...
so I can better appreciate all the fine details that went into it.
edited for mild curseage

Hey I really like the colors you did on her so far.
Very slick. Alas I have theater tickets Wed (hope it doesn't rain as it's
an outdoor theater) so I will have to catch the stream after the fact again.
