  1. It's kinda like a Supercool Colossus... if said colossus was indeed super cool... and had a forehead laser n' stuffz.
  2. I could think up 75 good reasons to want more Nojitsu artz.

    edit: that was close Ephemeris.

    SuperArtzzz

    *Perks up*
    Say what now? Oh cool...
It has begun (can't not picture that being said by Shang Tsung for some reason)!
  4. Nice caps man. I had to lol at the 3rd one where the imps all turned their back to you... looks like you guys had a lovers quarrel or something.
  5. *Sneers* Hey, welcome back Foo.
  6. Many people recently have asked about what software is good for creating digital art and while this is still a new area for me I'm trying to keep my eyes peeled for good things to help both myself and also the other artists here.

One thing that comes up repeatedly is concern over cost as the industry standard tool (I'm looking at you Photoshop) is ridiculously expensive. I have posted on occasion when I find a good sale but even at 80% off it's still more than many care to spend.

Well Deviant Art has now launched their alternative to PS. It's pressure sensitive, comes with 21 pre-programed brushes, works with tablets (like Wacom) and has layers built in. It also has a beginner version for those who want to try it out without being overwhelmed and a Pro version for those already familiar with apps of this sort and lets you submit your work when complete right to your DA gallery. It's HTML5 based (meaning you only need a modern web browser like Firefox or IE to use it... or heck even an iPad will work) and appears to be completely free (for now at least)... it's called Muro and you can check it out here.
    Cheers.
  7. Hey there Fusion,
Welcome to the best part of the forums!
Caemgen hit on a lot of the good points already and having links in the sig is always good... never know when one of the local artists will have a contest or get inspired.

The main global channel is indeed Forum 606 and when the forum plays as a group it's Virtue server (or has been test on occasion as well) there is a SG both blueside (Hero Studio... the one that matters ) and redside (Gallery of Rogues... so I hear ) as well and VexXxa runs a costume themed TaskForce most Fridays... see the thread called "In the Mood" for more info on those. Hopefully someone will start a middle-of-the-week one as well.

One other bit of news the Multi-media gallery will soon be merged with the 606 soon (along with a few other changes... there is an official thread about it) so this will be the place to watch for cool fan made stuffz in general. I personally watch the 606 here the majority of the time but occasionally check out the Developers corner and sometimes the tech section.

Also we are in the midst of a year long art contest called the FArt (no that's not a typo ) or Fan Art Battle and anyone with a valid account gets to vote for their top three pieces (3 points, 2 points and 1 point respectively) each month... artist with the most points gets immunity and artist with the least is out. We are down to the final 5 heading into August's theme of "Yes but do you have that in Fuschia" a.k.a. when Icon interns go awry.<-- link

Finally that's a really nice piece ya got there, I picked out Nei Ruffino's colors right away and Windriderx23 has his customary "shiny spot" indicator lines (like on the boots/shoulders etc) so it was pretty easy to tell who the artists were but yeah as VexXxa says it's always nice to give them credit somewhere in the post (and a link to their respective galleries is nice too).

Take care Agge... I would do the updating for you but I'm still a contestant and don't want it to look like I'm self promoting or vote fishing.

Is there someone else that can do this... we have gotten a lot of new people recently as a result coming to vote so it's definitely worth maintaining.

Also dang Caemgen that was creepy haha how did they ever sneak that past the sensors on the muppets?
  11. Shiny!
I would see this movie. Twice.

I will attend if I am not tied up in RL elsewhere. I've had a good amount of GR time already in the beta and so one night of not playing release won't be too bad.

I am, as I type this, watching the one I missed from last week and while I do know much of what was covered there were still some great technical bits I learned (most notably Photoshop's warp tool in the 2nd right click of the transform menu). I encourage more people to tune into these, beginner or pro, as there's always something you can learn or understand better... it's a great free resource and I thank you again BW for taking the time to do these.

One thing though, it's the "Iris" that can be (or not) touching the upper and lower lid (i.e. the iris is the ball of color floating in the sea of white) and it's the "Pupil" that is the little black dot contained within the the iris that dilates or contracts to let in the right amount of light for us to see. I think you may have these two confused.

Yeah they look to be PC tower fan grills was my first thought too. Very cool.
Were they cut with some kind of router or pattern saw?

Haha true... can't argue with booby logic like that.
  16. *promptly files boredom lawsuit against spikey headed guy for pre-emptively drawing his drawing (it's totally like a krime an' stuffz)*

All the parts are immediately recognizable, some nice work there buddy.

One question though is that an eyeslit in the front of the helmet or just a shading line that came out too dark?
I believe it's a totally enclosed helmet with somekind of H.U.D. inside and no way to look out of it.

    An idea...

It was just a thought... brainstorming and stuffz.

I do like the sound of rewound but if it doesn't work with the story you have in mind, no worries,
I'm sure somebody will come up with something else.

  18. ChristopherRobin

    An idea...

@ Crestent: Audacity is good for that kind of thing as is completely free.

    @37: I like "Rewound" for a title.
It's simple and conveys the idea well and also could imply that it is being done to people (not people doing it to themselves which might be Rewind) and is not voluntary. Finally it has a potential double meaning in that wound (as in spun around) is spelled the same as wound (as in to injure) so if the guy was fatally wounded and died as a result, then someone decided he was necessary/needed in some way and rewound him to try and prevent his being re-wounded.

As for an external source the game has a great one already... Ourobouros. Hereos and Villains get "entrusted with the secret" all the time. Say a villain started tinkering with people for his amusement or a hero was trying to prevent deaths or even a Mender with his own agenda... lots of ways to spin it. Or it could be Nemesis pulling the strings behind it all and the person tinkering with the timeline only thinks he/she/it is in control. Mwhahaha

It might also make for an easy logo tie-in... the symbol for rewind is already easily recognizable (two small black triangles pointing left) just add some blood or something symbolizing death or the "end" to the right of the arrows so it reads as "here is the end and rewind is being used to back away from it..." you could also have the Ouro symbol of the infinite "8" time loop in the background or somehow incorporated into the design.
  19. Love the motion and shape to her hair and the forearm blades too.
  20. ChristopherRobin

    An idea...

I could come up with one of the character designs (about all I would have time for atm) if I know what the script needs. Anyone good with logos?
  21. Tough on the outside but a big softy underneath.

I always thought Caemgen and that little blue ball of joy and chaos would make a great crimefighting team and was secretly looking for an opportunity to sneak them both into an image... DD's question (and her sketch) lined up perfectly with that... it was too good to pass up.

I love Nojitsu's stuff. Wait a sec that sounds funny... her art! Love her art.

That reminds me we were supposed to have an art trade but she got caught up in some other projects and didn't have time back then...
  23. Oh that's easy...

Hope you don't mind my borrowing your
unfinished image to illustrate it DD.

The last time I did a demorecord was long before AE came along... that may simplify some of what I was having to do by hand in the demofile.
If you have the whole process down Durakken you should try putting up a brief teaser/trailer and see if that grabs more people's interest.
