I can't speak for anyone else but personally I have more than a dozen hours into my piece in concept, drawing and seaming all the pieces together in photoshop... and I'm still working on it now even though it won't do a damn thing for me in this contest. My main goal from the outset of this was to challenge myself, tackle subjects/mediums I might never have tried otherwise (sidewalk chalk hunh wuuut?) and to grow as an artist... I would say I succeeded.
If it's over and I've won then great, thanks to all who participated/voted/followed along. At least I know the immunity that led to the final result came from a hard fought and hotly contested month (a mere 3 points decided the win) where I put more hours work, by far, into my entry than into any other artistic project I've ever taken on. If I had my way though the final 5 would still be in it and I would've happily duked it out with any them in a December's grand finale that people would be still talking about years later.
If it ends now I can honestly say I gave it my best and I am proud to be your 2010 FArt Champion...
Until we know for sure how this whole thing is going to turn out though I think Amerikatt, Deebs and others have the right idea...
put the final three pieces in your favorite order as if your vote counted. If it doesn't you've lost nothing and if it does, you'll be glad you did.

Hey if you had to lose an eye that would be the way to go.
On the plus side... chicks dig eye patches. *nods*

Missed this the first time around too but glad I caught it now. Cool story Coin.
One thing that struck me as odd was how would she not recognize him? Even with most of his face covered he would still be wearing the black jeans she noticed and the jacket she herself bought for him. If for some reason she has a serious case of LoisLane-itis and didn't make the connection that it's her friend now with powers wouldn't she then be upset/horrified that a hero rushed up to save her wearing the clothes off of her friend who was left for dead back in an alleyway?

Haha the Tanker is my favorite... the picture goes with it great too.
@ Golden: just click the button on the right that says Download, you don't have to go through with
downloading it but you will see the image in it's largest size and all text is easily legible.

Sweet work on the helm Drain... I like all the battle damage on it.

Cool screenshot HtO and welcome to the best part of the forums. I'm loving all the orange based names (nuttin is hawt'r than teh orange though
) cropping up lol.
P.S. I posted up a link when NewEgg had a 80% off sale on CS5 student/teacher edition a few weeks back but it's probably gone now. Sales happen though so just keep your eyes peeled.

Quote:I do not know if this thread is still going, however I followed the orders in your signature... never let it be said that I never did exactly what a signature told me to to (Its a weakness... like Kryptonite but for OCD.)
Your artwork is truly beautiful ChristopherRobin and I would consider myself privileged to have my character drawn by you.
So as per the signature, some reference shots of Nurse White.
Quote:I have absolutely zero expectations, but I figured there was no harm in leaving my info. If something happens then great! If not then all I have lost is a few minutes of my time, which I think is a very small price to pay for the chance (no matter how slight) that an artist such as Christopher Robin may feel like drawing the character.
Besides, all I am doing is what the signature told me to do! I cannot be held responsible for my easy suggestibility!
Thanks so much for the complimentary words Eat. Caemgen has it right this 40 in 60 was a New Year's Resolution and ran Jan through March... alas it is over.
That said there are plenty of opportunities to score art from me coming up. I have a contest coming for when I hit 25k pageviews, the hundreds posts in my thread get a free drawing (I will be posting one up soon to my New Art thread in fact) also people who participate in the Art forums get a sketch on their birthday (can't get em all but I try) and I do art trades and just opened up for a limited run of commissions recently. Recently when I've hit a milestone (1k and 2k so far) number of posts I've done contests for that too.
Also I just do stuff for fun or warm-ups too so it never hurts to post your refs. Ya never know...
Oh and if you are new to the art section of the forums, welcome.
**considers changing sig to say "gimmeh bacon and boobehz." heh**
P.S. I lol'd @ the AiW double entendre of your chosen name.

Quote:Okay wrapping up this contest I chose Laser Pointer (when VyxHehe. That's what happens when one posts while being sick, oops. Here's the references. Sorry about that >.<
finally decided to post teh linx n' stuffz)... her 2 guns won me over.
Congratz Vyx and I hope you are feeling better.
Click and enjoy!

Cool I like the stylized fire effect of the Ghenna piece and the Frost n Neurotika has a kind of ethereal look to it... plus w00t Christina Hendricks art coming up.
I just started watching Madmen (2 eps so far) and deciding if I like it/want yet another show to follow but it has CH so hey there's that.

Coolness thanks for the link Bayani. Is he one of those guys that works silently or does he
discuss what he is doing (what brushes, settings and techniques etc) while he works?

The right colorist can bring out all the best elements without taking away from the style of the pencils. Eddy was clearly the man for the job on those.
Love the new Clap-sans buddy. He's got such a graceful style to his lines.

Quote:Well I've always played Patriot Act as a cross between Captain America mixed with the ultimates Hawkeye. So a "American Through and Through" Smart-%$$. Which is why I immediately thought of this team up.
Foos avatar freaks me out. I keep thinking he sees something on my right and I just have to look for the alien probe I know he sent to my house....
Too late!

Heya DD.
These latest pieces are looking really good... that Amerikatt may be my new favorite from you (ok 2nd favorite after Xllusya).
One thing I would point out though is I've noticed a lot of your recent works (Chichester, Tauppa Amerikatt, etc etc) are missing cast shadows. Most notably the one under the chin which, unlike a fold or bend, is one of the few places where you actually get a shelf effect i.e. the chin always protrudes over neck by several inches. In most pictures this should be one of your darkest shadows and by not including it the heads seem to float a bit rather than being anchored to the rest of the image.
It's one relatively quick thing you could fix that would add more believability to your pieces.
Cheers,

Or more precisely her costume always loses.
The real winners are of course... us.

Tetris... ahh that brings back memories... of many hours lost hours of my childhood that I will never get back, cursed addictive Russian game!
Ahem. Nice job tying it into City of Heroes... my biggest time sink of this decade.
-
Bunch of great additions here CH and they each have great qualities going for them but for me the Barrios piece steals the show. I've been watching Paulo for a loooong time now and he's right up there with Greenie and Nema on my list of favorite pencilers ever... this latest work he did for you is no exception to his consistently great linework. Wow.

.....annnd done. Phew!

Quote:Never saw Red Heat in the theater but I have seen reruns on tv. This would be funny if Patriot Act is anything like the wise crackin' smart alec kind of character...I say we have a buddy cop dramedy with Patriot Act and Comrade Hero ala Red Heat...
I could totally see CH playing as the straight up Russian hard case.
Arnie: I do not understand this sport.
Belushi: You're not supposed to, it's completely American.
Arnie: We play baseball now in Soviet Union.
Belushi: Are you kidding me? This is our national pastime!... but it'd be one hell of a world series though, wouldn't it?
Arnie: We would win.
P.S. Hey Foo is your avatar trapped against it's will in a Brady Bunch intro or something?
-
Quote:This has already been decisively answered. *nods sagely*..........Amerikatt is super purrfection personified but if she was going to team up would it look best with Feral Kitty or Lady Justice?
Quote:.......Team Up: Xyllusia and Lounge Crooner
Again, I'm probably thinking more video than still pic but the beautiful goddess and the sleazy aging hipster doofus?? That would be a funny cartoon!(And sorry if I spelled Xy's name wrong...)
Quote:This is a fun idea. Caemgen! But it will take just a tad bit of thought, so stand by!
Hmmm, this could take a while...
*taps foot*

Got enough artists remaining to last us through November anyway... unless there is still an elimination this month?
If so then through October.
