Quote:Oh sure make me wait n' stuff. I see how it is!ps yes there is I will do it but I am lazy so it might be tomorrow LOL Doing Winter Gala stuff atm
Look just cuz I'm planning to swipe your Cintiq doesn't mean...
errr tomorrow works I suppose.
That reminds me someone should start a 606 team up for forumites that want to run Holiday content. *goes off to start thread*

Figuratively and literally sky-clad.

Tanks Hands is hilarious and Amerikatt's made me chuckle... Me-WOW. heh.

Quote:Hahaha I didn't know Cami was an Ill/Emp too. The similarity of white hair/skin an pointy ears occurred to me at one point
you draw my ill emp so I draw yours, I also think it's funny they both have white skin/hair and pointy ears eee
I may or may not refine this later...when I get my...CINTIQ!!!!!
but I didn't realize the powersets were identical too. Ummm... I'm going with great minds think alike here.
If you do decide to work on it some more/color it, Xllusya's most distinguishing feature is her large never blinking golden eyes
which you can see in this pic (last image in her slideshow) I did last year or this '09 birthday artz from Eddy Swan.
Edit: OMZ! Cami has gold eyes too! She's not secretly a goddess is she???
That would be eerie.

Quote:What's that? You want me to post photos when your... errr my Cintiq arrives? I suppose I could do that.
I will have to post photos of it to lord over you!!!!
There Bday pick for CR <3 more info in the bday thread
Oh awesome! Thanks Cami.
P.S. Is there any larger size you could PM me so I can full screen it?

Quote:Well historians from England will say I am a liar but history is written by those who've hanged heroes and...Oddly enough, all my history classes skipped over the parts where the Spanish Inquisition shoveled snow and assisted neighbors...
oh wait that's Braveheart.
Uhhh well of course the Spanish Inquisition did all that stuff... no one ever expected they would.
Thankyou Attache.
Posted my response in your art thread, I love your take on her outfit (especially her cape clasp), thanks again Cyrsei.

Sensei your stuff is now clearly marked NSFW and you said you cleared your posts with a GM already.
Personally I don't think you owe anyone an apology. If people don't want to see nudity they needn't click the links.
P.S. I'm liking both your new pieces. Each has a different take on the new organic face and both gave it a cool effect.
Nice catches.

Okay see now I'm jealous.
>. >
*lies in wait for delivery truck to snag the Cintiq when it arrives mwhahaha*

I thought it was out of order too but I figured it out a few seconds later. What tripped me up is I hadn't realize she turned around and looked back but instead had walked through already.
I think it would be much more apparent she is turning around to take one last look if between panels 2 and 3 you had a shot of her from the side (perhaps even a closeup of her face) with the portal in the background so it reads from: having her back to us, to side view closeup, to looking back one last time. You might even slip in a panel that lets us try to interpret her motive... an emote perhaps just before she steps through. /e grief if she is leaving for sad reasons or unwillingly or /e curseyou if she is leaving angrily. etc. etc.
Just suggestions though, it's a cool mini-story either way.
Nice work Jinken.

Your patience paid off, I agree this is the best color work I've seen from you Bubba.
Looks like you picked up a few new things along the way too.

Call it "The making of the 2011 Calendar" but do it in 2010.
That way you retain the element of surprise upon the unwary.

Quote:p.s can anyone tell me how in DeviantArt, you link the avatar/link of an artist into your message?Quote:Don't know how to link the avatar image but to just provide a link to the artist:
Copy the url of their page
Put their name (or whatever) in the message.
Highlight name
Click the little world and link symbol (hovering your mous eover it a second says insert link)
When the boc pops up, paste the url into it
Finished.
p.s. - Great new arts Lasy C) but I just do it manually.
The syntax is the word "icon" and the persons name in between colons, with no spaces.
So for example mine is...
:iconChristopherRobinArtz:
so if you put that into a message box on DA and hit preview you should see a link to me/my avatar.
Cheers.

Love it! Thanks very much Lady Cyrsei. I really like your interpretation on her belt with the stars on it and I would slog through a dozen sewer trials if I could have my shield design as a cape clasp the way you have it here.

Quote:She usually wants people to draw based on her sig since there is no "cat model" in the game. The closest you can get to a cat is a 4ft. tall human. Also Amerikatt you didn't give me a source photo to work off of, unless you want that sweet kitty in your sig
If you want a bigger version of the picture click the button in my sig... it should be the 2nd picture (#2 of 40). Otherwise the breed is a Russian Blue and you can "google images" it.
Cheers!

Hey there Nalrok and welcome to the art forums.
Ya ever have perspective put you on hold? That's the worst. You'd think perspective would at least
have some decent tunes playing while you wait but no... people in elevators don't realize how lucky they are.
The holidays are my busy season and I do have a couple commissions waiting
yet (so it might be a little while yet) but I do try to help out other artists whenever I can.
Post up a clear in-game ref shot to go along with your art and I'll see what I can do when things let up a bit.
Also planning a contest coming up soon here to give away some freebies so keep your
eyes peeled and you might win a sketch of the hero/villain of your choice.
P.S. Thanks for the kind words.

What a great idea.
Off to read up on the charities to see what pops!

Mousey's expression (in that B&W duo) is very captivating.

Quote:Two ways to read that question.I agree with Henri. I've been dabbling in some digital coloring lately (Goblin Queen is one that has been posted and another waiting for approval from the owner to post). But this post helped to put things in perspective so to speak. I do wonder though, if an artist doesn't really indicate light source in their lines then is it okay for the colorist to make one?
1. Is it okay to go contrary to the artists intention for the piece.
2. Is it technically correct to do so.
The first depends on your relation to the artist (do you have permission to color their lines, do they mind you adding your own touches etc), too many variables to give a straight answer but the best thing is if you are unsure... ask.
For the second the easy answer is yes. If a hero has fire on their head and hands it is a light source whether the artist drew any indication for it to be or not (like the the moon in this piece). If there is no clear indication from the artist and no obvious light source exists in the piece then it's up to you and in that situation I'd say there are many ways to light a scene, be creative in choosing your light source (or sources) and then try to render the scene as realistically as you can based on your choice.
Another thing to consider is if the person who drew the lines knew it was going to be colored in advance. The one quick sketch of mine in this thread I had no idea it would later be colored so there really is no helpful information or visual cues (other than maybe the shadow on the faceplate) from me where the light and shadows are to be placed so anyone wanting to color it would have to make those decisions him/her self.

Quote:Lol that's awesome Henri, I've not ever had one of my characters recreated for an ingame birthday card scene. You always take the time to do people a birthday sketch, which i'm sure is appreciated in every case. I'm not really up to scratch with my sketching yet, but i thought i'd do you a little scene with the media i am working in at the moment. Cheers H
.
Very cool of you to do that. Thanks!
P.S. I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit, your costume designs (and webcomic, screenies etc) show a lot of creativity and cleverness.
I honestly think your sketching would grow by leaps and bounds were to invest more time into it.
A very sincere Unthankyou LC!
*thanks Cyrsei*
Quote:
You just had to sneak your birthday in when I wasn't looking! I hope you enjoyed your special day, CR!
Most of it was spent dealing with snow (and by dealing with I mean shoveling lol) and helping my neighbors dig out their cars but it was still a good day and people were very thankful for the help.
-
Oh cool, nice to see an inker here now too, do you do color work as well?
On that 2nd piece I think the name might actually be Solipsist if it's wordplay on the epistemological position that one's mind is all that can be known or verified and knowledge of anything outside of one's mind (the outside world or other minds) is impossible and may actually not exist. That would be a fun one to role play with the right binds and...
err ok, way off topic. *takes off geek hat* Ummm nice artz, very Lovecraft-ian, post moar naoz!
Oh and welcome to the forums Geek Boy.
@Caemgen: lol wondered how long it would be until you popped up.

Yeah you are late. You waited until like the middle of the afternoon to wish me a happy birthday... what were you thinking!?
Thanks Mang!
Quote:Bit late, just off the plane, but...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I'd draw you but I don't have an orange pen...
Wait they let you fly being stuffed to the gills with burger and barbecue? Did that count as an extra carry-on?
Thanks Ironik, Comrade and Fireheart!
TANK-U Imp of Impervium!
Thanks Red.
Quote:perhaps I should have bolded and all capsed that.
I always just happily yell Birthday at my friends on theirs. In fact on mine I spent about 80% of it just yelling it at people randomly.
I was gonna draw you a picture but I haven't had time to dig around for pictures...
Consider it a placeholder
Unless you don't want art
Hey you... BIRTHDAY!
Unless I don't want art??? Is that some kind of trick question?
P.S. I actually started a birthday sketch of Cami (and two other recent birthday havin' peoples) but I just haven't had any free time of late to finish it.
Posted a WIP of it in my thread.
Links below for any that want to draw one of my (I'll add my newest 50 Dark Aedan soon as I get some good shots) main heroes.
Clicking the pics goes to a single image clicking the name goes to a pauseable slide show gallery.
Chloe Macomber
(Dark/Rad Defender a.k.a.
The rightful queen of the Croatoan witches cabal)
Or Shieldara
(Martial Arts/Shield Scrapper)
Or Brahn Fuhrnos
(Fire/Regen/SS Tank)
Xllusya

Goddess of Sunlight and Illusions)

Thanks Kheldarn, PowerStream, Sensei and Lady.
Well we are getting more than 12" of snow here and there is a partial flat tire I hadn't notice on the snow blower so unless I can get the tire repaired I'll likely be spending the majority of my day shoveling. Ahh the joys of living up north. On the bright side... no bugs for the next few months.
Thanks Shadow Ravenwolf, Bubbawheat and Goblin Queen!
Quote:HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
As a gift, I won't try to draw one of your characters!
(at least until I have some time to do so...)
Quote:Happy B-day CR!
(i cannot draw you something to return the favor sadly :|)
err I mean it's the thought that counts. Thanks Neko.
Birthday.
Hey why waste time with adjectives? Keep it short and sweet I say.
Ummm right, ok I'll try to have one of those.
