How about a shot of my Fire/Regen/SS tank Brahn Fuhrnos executing a Super Uppercut Knockout Punch on a whole
crowd of Freakshow, who just happened to be lined up like bowling pins, while winking at the cute
blond civilian in distress he is "rescuing" who herself is doing the emote for.....
err I suppose you could just do a sketch of him grinning mischievously...
yeah that could work too.
Some Brahn Refs
A pencil sketch I did of him
if it helps

Any style you choose.

Cheers Lord Goat, hope ya have a great day. No "kid"-ing...
P.S. Hey if you still want to do another collab send me a ref of your main and I'll
sketch it when I get a bit more caught up and send it back so you can throw down some colors.

Thanks for all the great refs posted thusfar, I sent out several PM's asking for more info on the characters but so far haven't found quite what I'm looking for.
I have my FArt idea more refined now and I've decided it will feature a female ice based character and that her face/expression will play a key role so no masks or hoods or anything that obstructs. Someone a little compulsive in nature.
Still looking yet if anyone wants to put up a last minute ref for a shot at being a central figure in my piece otherwise I'll head over to the CC and make something up from scratch.
Quote:It does have interest to me. When I first saw the theme would be ice I thought of what that might mean to me in regards to CoH, three things came to mind right away and I was torn which route to go with it. Now I'm thinking I'm should try and incorporate them all.Not sure if it has any interest to you (and I'm not sure how much the rules of FArt allow for blurring of the themes) but you could do an "ice queen" angle in personality, rather than in powers?
An icy cold demeanor/expression was the second of the three and reading your thoughts
on it makes me hopeful that others will pick up on what I'm going to try and do with theme. Thanks LLD.

Things that make ya go Hmmmm!
(Not sure if anyone has bothered to fact check them but if they are reasonably accurate it's pretty eye opening)

Congratulations VexXxa!

His shading is really improving. Especially on the central figure's abs.
The rocket jets coming out of the boots are cool.
-
The hand continues to impress...
was he easy to talk to?

Happy Birthday Lady C.
Then it's time to get cracking then Kheldarn!
-
Heh, well now I know what Jay has been so busy working on these past weeks.
Darn, I can see already I'm going to have to buy this pack too. These look awesome.
-
Happy Birthday Lady Cyrsei.
Getting a little behind on my birthday sketches as I'm spending my spare time on improving my "ice" fx for the
FArt contest but I do have a sketch in the works for you.
Hope you had a great day,
Cheers!

That's why when wielding the Bow-tana it's wise to use a shorter bow.

Quote:No need to be all frowny-faced... here I'll give ya the first one....................I also now I have to go looking for faces in the TK pieces. >
...............................
and let you search for the rest on your own.
Looking at her torso I spotted this...
Which when you take away TK's work looks like this....
I clearly see a face complete with eyes, eyeballs, eyebrows, defined cheekbones, a hairline, a nose,
a mouth etc etc and even what appears to be a cigarette with wavy lines streaking up and away from it.
The real test though is go back up and look at the original. Do you still see the face?
And more importantly can you "un-see" it now or does it still look like a face?

Quote:Hah! I would totally enjoy a thread like that.Haha! right, that's it, we need a new thread where people post dramatic heroic statements in their full scientific/literal/gramatically correct form.
I'm thinking of a certain monotone, austrian accented, humanoid killer robot from the future...
'I'll return to this location at an undisclosed point in time and by a mode of transport not yet determined!'

Hmm...that means I need to step up my game face...

Nothing I can do about the vote but I'm rooting for ya all the same James.

Heh, same thing I though when I saw it.
I admit I would have to know more about the characters to follow that train of thought in the OP but I like where this piece is going.
It's been a long while since I tried a group scene. Hmmm...
P.S. I think you should color it.

Quote:Half way through the Aura tutorial (when it's just a white outline blurred with the dots added) I thought that would make a convincing effect for a character with the "Gaseous" aura in game.
Chloe has that aura in green so I may have to try this at some point, thanks Flashrains.

There are only things I cannot do right now... but believe me I will soon enough.
...except tiddlywinks.
Seriously I have like teh awwsum dexterity n' stuffz yet mastery of this elementary skill eludes me. Curses!
Quote:Heh, thanks.
She took that with her webcam while leaning into her monitor.
One thought on that... try turning up any indirect lighting in the room (if possible) and then putting an image
of black or dark grey on the screen (hint: open any image editing app and use the paint bucket to fill it or, barring that,
turn the brightness and contrast way down on your screen).
Shrink or tuck off to the side whatever app needs to run to capture the image and then try it.
You'll probably get a much better result initially and also you will have a better starting point from which to edit if you choose to.
You can always add brightness and contrast if an image is a little too dark but if you completely out part of it (all white) when you do turn
the brightness down there will be nothing left in that space for you to edit and you'll have to try and re-create information that no longer exists.
Quote:Not at all. Even if she did have a few extra pounds on her, she is 2 months pregnant in that pic. Its just a woman thing. They always think they are fat) but if you want a little tip though I'd say shorten it.
Granted every woman is a little different but here is what some women reading that statement might choose to take away from it...
Not at all. Even if she did have A FEW EXTRA POUNDS on her she is 2 months PREGNANT IN THAT PIC. Its JUST A WOMAN THING?. They always think they are FAT!
Just say "Not at all."
Trust me everything said after that point won't gain you any points and could potentially come
back to haunt you years later during an unrelated argument on some idle Tuesday when you least expect it.
*drops controversial knowledge then quickly, yet dramatically, exits the thread stage left*

Quote:Lumine can answer as to the specific piece but I can tell you generally you will see that often with Vrykon's work..............The second Daggerpoint (Disheartener) looks significantly different between the lines and the coloured version (no, I am not referring to the nipples). Was this a deliberate infusion of personality?
He doesn't consider himself a colorist (someone who just puts colors down over another's design) but as more
of a digital painter (works his style directly into the piece... the result is more of a collab than a coloring job).
He's been known to redraw pieces from scratch if the lines he was given are not up to his standards.
He doesn't do this with Dagger/Jeremy's lines (or mine or anyone else on his "preferred pencilers" list) though.
P.S. Both of the above pieces, if I remember correctly, are ones he calls "speed" paints (1-2 hours or less).
This one he did for Eddy Swan is my favorite of that series.
P.P.S. I'm wondering if Tim Kelly sees any of the faces he drew into Lady E's pic...
I count at least 6 so far (the large one smoking a cig on her shirt being the most obvious).

Funnily enough I probably could but then she doesn't really need it now does she?
