Wow she only had to think about daring LJ to rip her clothes off and poof... the new Judgment must be a latent psychic.

Quote:That's a very enlightened and admirable perspective Muse.I tend to be way more nit picky on my own art sometimes I see something a bit to late after I gifted it to someone and just sit there like ugh.. I wish I could have fixed that sooner.
But for the art gifts and commissions I get I just appreciate and love them all. I think of it like this each piece of art with or without mistakes is a learning/growing experience for the artist and I was just glad to be a part of it. ^_^
Yeah I'm also far tougher on my own art than on other people's stuff (I think most artists are) but I also ask for
constructive criticism and outside opinions all the time too because I recognize I'm biased when looking at something I created.
As for the picking of nits, anyone who's ever traveled with me could tell you I'm just as likely to spot
otherwise overlooked beauty, subtlety or nuance as I am to pick out errors, flaws or things amiss... it's just that
when it comes to art my focus is very much on improvement (both my own and in helping others improve as well)
thus I'm constantly looking for what's wrong so I can try to improve it or at least not make similar mistakes going forward.
By no means am I pointing out everything I see and I certainly don't do it to be mean-spirited or
detract from others enjoyment I just tend to notice stuff and so I point it out (or at least mention it exists) where
I think it can be of some use. Caemgen I'm pretty sure gets where I am coming from on this and is okay with my being outspoken
in his thread but there are other threads where I don't say anything because I don't think it will do any good or be well received. *shrug*

So can you say anything about this wonderful new position or are you like a secret
agent in charge of tracking down the 515th mink and you don't want to blow your cover?

Nice.
Any plans to color it? Or you could always drop it off in the Collab thread and see if it inspires someone else to give it a whirl.

Quote:I just throw ones that I like (or that I've made myself) up to photobucket... the emoticons for many things I'd want to convey are pretty lacking here.I mix up both. If I'm posting a lot here and flip over to dA, I use the brackets when I should use the <>. If I'm posting a lot there and come here, the reverse happens. The main thing I carry over from dA is their emoticons. I cannot tell you how many times I typed  or :highfive: or  into these forums. Fortunately, I always seem to catch it.
Of course, you can do this if you're really committed -- but who has that kind of time?
-
By the same token an artist on your list not drawing your
favorite character might be misconstrued as not liking the character.
Yeah I don't have any good answer for how something like that might work without stomping on too many toes
(more than I normally do that is) it's just one of those things that rattles around in the back of my head from time to time.
-
Reversed for me heh.
I tend to get it right here and mixed up on DA.
Good thing they have a preview function cuz post's are
permanent over there (no editing after the fact but, though I
don't know how, I think there is a way to hide the comment altogether).

Quote:It's brackets [ ] not greater than/less than < > for the syntax. And yeah surely a relic of a bygone era.Janet is definitely just dim enough to accessorize with a holster that would never hold her proton pistol. Form over function.
I noticed the hand too but figured that Janet's people - the <i>Idio</i> - have surely developed such fine-boned fingers and hands to seemingly lack anything so gauche as knuckles. I mean, knuckles are soooo 21st century.

Congratulations on landing a new job oh Mink of the 514th variety.
@LJ: Heh I'm in the same boat, I seem to do my best when drawing characters I want to be drawing for the fun of it. Though I've done dozens freebies for peoples birthdays or as prizes I generally pick which character (unless they are only known for one) I want to draw from among their alts.
I am pleased with the few commissions I've completed (3 so far and 2 others nearly done) so far and may do it again but there is just no substitute for being inspired.
Wonder if there would be a way to combine the two... I've often thought it would be cool if there was some kind of standing list of people wanting art who in turn had a list of artists they would be willing to buy from and a standard fee and if the artist felt inspired they could draw a piece and collect the fee afterward but if they didn't want to then there'd be no contract or pressure to do so.
Not sure it that would work brilliantly or backfire colossally.
-
A very cool piece and a very generous gesture to give away a prize as a gift.
*/e applaud*
-
Yeah I was going to mention the too small and wrongly shaped holster and the fingers being too small & some knuckle-less
but really there is so much to like about this piece that I can still enjoy it after noticing that stuff.
*Wanders off to explore what else is new in Rob's DA gallery*

Modding is generally frowned up around here but there do seem to be some exceptions...
some people have done it as a way to "fix" things that the devs don't have the time/patience/resources for
(like reorganizing the chaotic mess of the power tray icons, silencing noises that play in a constant loop and aggravate, map packs etc).
That aside how about a more common sense approach? I would think you can achieve what you want without
breaking any rules here by just using the Mission Architect. Want to make custom enemy groups? Go right ahead.
Want to show off that you have a good grasp of pacing in a self designed arc or TF? Have at it... no modding required.
If you want to really blow their socks off then I suggest running some of the Developers Choice
awarded arcs and seeing what the best of the best playermade content is like and then go from there.
Cheers.

That came out real nice Defiance, I'm glad to see you finished it up.

Nah the other servers are actually a Nemesis plot... or are they?
I'm like that in reverse LJ most of my mains are on Liberty and then Virtue became
runner up after coming to the art forums. Welcome back Bobby it's good to see ya up your sub.
P.S. Sometime over the course of the month you and me gotta do some more collab'n.
-
You know you can always DA note me a link or email me Bobby (if your 5 days runs out) and I'll link it to the forums for you.
-
He's not really on DA anymore (well aside from brief pulses when art appears then mysteriously disappears).
Much better served to watch his blog or his new Wix page.

Warden of God, ScooterTwo or maybe BubbaWheat might have some good ideas in that regard.
Henri actually had a comic going from game screencaps but they were more staged
than modified in post, and he hasn't said anything in quite a while.

Quote:zzzzzinnnng THUD! "GET OVER HERE!" yank!LOL Yeah, it went something like that CR. For a minute there I thought I was being attacked by scorpion from mortal kombat. :P
Ice cream sounds good craving a nice creamsicle now. You boys enjoy your stamps.I was the ninja master at that game
(expert with both scorpion and sub-zero) with the occasional Kano heart-pull for good measure.
P.S. No fair! Stamps taste icky.
Quote:I'm pretty sure Neko actually *does* play for the other team, CR. So we can only admire her for her wit and charm.
I mean you can only say "Pix or it didn't happen!" so many times. -
Very cool Xenophage.
This was one of the monthly themes for a previous years FArt contest and I've always wanted to try one of these.
I wonder if something like this would have more impact if it were Lord Recluse's shadow (with the 8 spider legs) falling across Statesman's helm rather than his reflection.
Of course the real important question is who would play Sister Psyche and Ghost Widow.

Quote:I've actually discussed it with Bayani and once I understood his reasoning I could totally respect/uphold it. He has a level of dedication and professionalism to to the depiction of his characters that is rarely seen.CR: yeah you and I think the same when it comes to the Bayani policy. But I gotta respect a collector that fussy, to only want his vision depicted. Whaddya gonna do?...................... Bobby
That said the idea of it still amuses me and I continue to watch to see what direction he goes with it next.

A Comrade Hero cartoon? ummm how soon and what channel (or website) will I be watching them on is what I wanna know!
Also those last two pieces are some exceptional pencils. Hadn't heard of Ian before but I'm off to browse his gallery now.
P.S. One thing though, in that first piece Graviton Girl's chest emblem is not following the contours
of her chest and so appears to be a solid object floating on top of her outfit rather than a pattern on the fabric itself.
