Quote:It is indeed CeruleanVII, aka Del Melchionda, (good eye LousyDay).......When I saw that img I imediately thought it could be something Del did, and I was right!
http://ceruleanvii.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d1lf03d
I've known her from CGtalk since when I got into digital painting, and she was actually one of my classmates in Robert Chang's workshop I took last year. Apparently that workshop has been very popular and Robert has already run it 4 or 5 times, and there's a new class starting in a few days. Anyways, I love Del's style, and have always been amazed by the richness of skintones in her paintings.
I've been a fan of Del's for a long time now, love the way she uses color and light especially as they interact with skin.
Quote:..... Ooh yes.. I've been wondering who was behind that gorgeous hair! Thanks for pointing that out!
That truly is gorgeous! I have no other word for it! *goes to put ceruleanvii to her watchlist*

Quote:That depends.....hmm.. good point, kinna.. however its sorta like Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Second Edition where the core rules state that no one can be a Mage/Priest multi-class (except for a Dwarf Mage/Illusionist.. but Dwarfs dont really count. ) ..HOWEVER, if one where to get in their possession, the Demi-Human Handbook along with the Athas Darksun and Forgotten Realms book featuring the spells of the Three Sisters and combine those with the complete Ravenloft class guide as well as an article from Dragon magazine about demi-plane mechanics and finally throw in the great and mighty Psionics handbook, one could then create an 8 foot high forest Ogre race, triple classed Witch/Druid/Psion with Human form as one of his Druid shape change powers. You can therefore have a human character with the power to change into an Ogre as well as use the Elfs Sacred Song Blade attack style without penalty PLUS the ability to duel wield large weapons and finally if he were to be raised by forest nymphs, such a character would get a bonus to all saving throws verses death magic.
I hope this helps clear this whole issue up.
...being a druid, can he still summon
small woodland critters for target practice?

Happy Birthday oh purple mistress of the ever-changing avatar.

I can empathize Airhead... I spent the whole of last year putting up pencil drawings to compete with (many)
full color digital paintings while always wanting my stuff to be better than it was.
Gotta hang in there though buddy... not participating won't get you anywhere.
I'd make a wind joke or other bad pun at this point "butt" we're already in a thread called the FArt.
-
I want that glowing red dragon tattoo and the hair/beard... ok and the shield.
-
Lol awesome. I would buy these Doritos in a heartbeat.
The chip stuck in the target like it's an arrow was a great touch.
-
Not quite done but here is my entry...
Chloe takes the day off.
-
This thread needs a bag of Sister Psyche (or some other hero) Doritos.
-
It's off to a great start Ransim.
Some of the pencils I've posted had detailed hairpathing drawn or suggested already
so I just drew in the outlining shapes for this one and I'll leave it to the collaborators how they want to approach it.
Looks like you are headed in the right direction.

Quote:I kinda figured from your lack of response something was up.Hi guys. Afraid i'm going to have to bow out of this competition. Life is crazy busy at the moment and i just don't have any free time for art, gaming or even trolling the forums at all it seems
Good luck to those still competing and hopefully i'll get time to look in and see the entries each month.
Just a reminder though no eliminations until June so I wouldn't declare yourself out just yet...

Heh, does your wife walk around making an X under her chin with her arms while shouting "BRING IT!" yet?

Quote:I used a TinyURL like this... http://tinyurl.com/42cb3zo....................I also reported a few pieces, I just wish there was more room in the comment section than barely more space than the link info.
to take 115 characters down to 26.
Also notified the art Devs with links to official trademarked Paragon Studios images on that sellers page.

Quote:Looking good DD.Well..been busy busy drawing lately. Doing everything and nothing...and today I finally had some inspiration to work on Shikome's request a bit more.
Previous preview:
Second preview of Gray Hawk! (now with glasses (though glasses can come off)
I do have some con/crit for you though.
The two little pink triangles in the inner corner of the eye (called the Plica semilunaris and the Lacrimal caruncle... yes they are really called that and no obviously I was not consulted) are there for the camera left eye but are missing from the right eye (in both of your images).
The interior detailing on the iris looks real nice but it should extend almost to the outer edge... i.e. you shouldn't have such a thick green border around it.
The white circular highlight you have is too dim if the sunglasses are missing (since the eye is always wet this should be a bright white on the naked eye) and if you are going to keep the sunglasses on and the dim highlight is a result of the light passing through the glasses then you need two white lens flares on the sunglasses to show this as well.
The eyelashes are too uniformly spaced. Left as is it's a visual cue that tells the viewer he should be looking straight on at the face while the rest of the visual cues say the face is turned thus creating conflict and an image that doesn't "read" right.
The lashes above need to be thicker at the base (shouldn't see skin) and thinner towards the tips.
The lashes under the eye need to be shorter thinner and much further apart and there should be a lot less of them (clear gaps separating the individual lashes going toward the inner eye).

Sent several notes and PM's out as well as a complaint to Ebay.
I hope anyone reading this thread also complains to Ebay
and notifies any artists whose work/style you recognize.

Never saw the first two pieces before but you could ask Comrade Hero here on the forums since he is one of the people in that SG pic that
is still around (I also see Thor's Assassin, Turbo Ski, MsFrost, Roxstar, etc but none of them have posted here in a while)
or you could go right to the source and shoot a note to Ed (aka Juggertha) on DA since that
group pic is clearly one of his pieces... his style is pretty unmistakable.

Happy Vernal Equinox!
...oh yeah some people call it Easter too.
-
Yeah, I thought he wanted to tweak his powers customization or something
when he stopped mid way through our running missions to hit the tailor... nope, needed strappy shoes. lol
We were kicking some serious praetorian butt though.
Ghouls, resistance fighters, loyalists, police... it didn't matter, they all got a 9Millimeter migraine.
Here's a follow up shot... man that had to hurt.

Quote:Yeah I'm kinda known for doing that. You're right! I'll drop a note off to Ian about that. I didn't even notice that.
...............
Love the way that tri-panel is looking, can't wait to see what approach the colorist will take.
...wonder if I could draw something in that style.
P.S. now the infinity symbol is a bit crooked. It appears to be facing the viewer almost straight on even though GG is in ¾'s view
and it's flat across the bottom rather than elliptical... but it does look like part of the fabric.
Also, granted this is getting right down into the little details, now that I let my eyes wander over it for another minute or so
I notice Comrade Hero's gloves don't match. In the center panel his right glove has the pleat on the pinky side and his left has it
on top along with the knuckles. In the right side panel his right glove doesn't show it at all (which is perfectly plausible from that angle)
but the left one has the notch thumb side. I would suggest the pinky side makes more sense so center panel: right glove is fine but on the
left glove the notch should be rotated back and be barely visible or gone altogether & right panel: right glove is fine but left glove notch should
move to pinky side. Unless you prefer the notch/pleat to be thumbside in which case reverse the above.
GG's gloves are fine with the notch on the bottom and correctly match in all three panels.
